I enjoy such excerpts from the books so much!

I am currently reading Dragonfly in Amber and I just really want to share how much I enjoy such cutesy, funny excerpts in the books. I just imagine Jamie, explaining such things in a very serious voice and Claire being very amused and attentive at the same time.

Do you have any such excerpts that have stuck with you?

My two cents on BOMB

I just started watching BOMB on the weekend and I now have only 3 episodes left until I finish this first season. Let me just tell you...

  • What a mind-blowing storyline this prequel goes through. My head just can't go around the fact that the characters are intertwined like that. Moreover, I am so fascinated by the fact that we are actually getting a glimpse into the lives of Jamie's and Claire's parents. Like WHAT?
  • The casting is great imo and I actually see a lot of similarities between the character's younger versions, as we see them in BOMB, and then their older selves in Outlander. Both couples - Henry and Julia & Brian and Ellen - do visually resemble Jamie and Claire. And not only visually. I haven't looked into how the actors prepared for the roles, but for example>!Brian's anger in ep. 6 really reminded me of the way Jamie reacts when in an outbreak of emotions.!< Also great acting all the way through.
  • MARK ME, we cannot skip the beauty of Scotland. I am just reminded of all the scottish scenery that we had in S1 of Outlander. And now we get to enjoy it once more? Count me in.
  • Maybe unpopular opinion, maybe not, but I actually can't say that many prequels in general are very nicely executed, while I don't see such an issue here. The two storylines - BOMB and Outlander - are nicely distinguished and connected at the same time.
  • I only have one point to make and that is - what the heck was all of this is ep. 6 Birthright? It stressed me out and gave me a bit of emotional damage, not gonna lie.

I don't know what the prevailing feelings in the sub are, but I'm actually really enjoying the plot, the character development, the acting, scenery, pretty much everything. I do not expect it to match up to Outlander, but it gives a totally different feeling and I'm all here for it. If there are any plot holes or whatever, I sure didn't pay them any attention. Of course, I have 3 more episodes until I wrap up season 1, but I will be looking forward to season 2 certainly.

How do you guys feel about Blood of my blood?

Edit: Please do accept my short rant with best feelings, since I think my fiance's head will explode if I continue to harass him with my Outlander/BOMB talk, so I come here to vent. Although I do think that he secretly likes the show for the most part, just doesn't want to admit it

I want to quit my job but I feel like I'm at a dead end

I don't really know what this is - maybe some sort of distressed rant - but I am hoping to find some understanding here, possibly from people that have been in a similar position and can help me out with advice or a kind word.

Here is the deal - I have a Bachelor's degree in PR. I am soon to turn 27 and for the past 5 years (basically from the its founding) I have been working in this e-commerce startup company, which has seen rapid growth in this time. I started this job more or less as a joke, since I was friends with the founder of the company before he opened this business. When I started, I was a student, and I was one of the first employees in the call center. Fast forward a few years later and I can now say that I've covered multiple positions and functions in this company - I have worked in design and I have done social media ads, banners, print materials; I have assisted the call center when needed (B2C communication through Meta & email), I have also been part of the hiring team and I have introduced and trained new call agents; I have handled escalated client cases; I have had conversations of high importance with representatives of courier companies and I have also worked with the systems of the same courier companies (basically handling forwarding cases); I have worked with WordPress (WooCommerce); basic knowledge of an ERP system (Odoo). And the list goes on.

My point is - in this startup company I have had to do a lot of jobs and I have knowledge in multiple fields. However, I have now reached a point where I feel like I am no longer progressing or developing. I want to change my job, moreover move out of the city and back to a smaller town with my fiancé, hence looking for a mainly remote job. But I feel like I'm asking myself this question - what type of specialist even am I? I have done all those stuff but at the end of the day what am I even fit to apply for? I have already put my CV in for two random positions, just to give it a shot, but I got a rejection there, since I don't entirely meet the requirements. I really feel like I'm at a dead end more or less and I do know that there will be a way out but I really want to hear someone else's perspective. I am open to run at it for a career change!

If you've read this far, do know that I appreciate it greatly!

Signing of book 10?

Here is the deal, guys. In the midst of all the emotions regarding the final season and the fact that I recently finished reading book 1 (so I am now absolutely hooked on the books as well), I now have this crazy idea to keep an eye on future event days for the signing of book 10 and then organize a trip to the UK (if book signing will be held there) for those dates. For context - I am from Bulgaria, which is in Eastern Europe. However, I have never visited a book signing event and I don't really know how it goes. Where would there be such events when the book comes out? Will there be something like a tour? I would appreciate any info!
