The legend of the St. Pete nightwalker
They say this guy is from St. Pete and has basically given up on women.
He used to be a hopeless romantic, but after getting played one too many times, something just clicked. Now he keeps his circle small, stays out late, and trusts nobody who says, “I’m not like other girls.”
He is rarely seen without his gray cap pulled low, his plaid shirt hanging open, and a ring of old keys rattling somewhere around his waist. He walks the waterfront alone, and stares into the water as though expecting an answer.
There had been a time when he believed every new connection meant something. He remembered names. He showed up. He listened. He gave people chances long after they had stopped giving him reasons to.
You’ll usually find him walking around the waterfront with his keys hanging off his pants, looking like he just got ghosted five minutes ago.
Nobody knows exactly what happened to him. People say that if you encounter him after 2 a.m., you should never ask him whether he’s waiting for someone.
Because he’ll smile.
And he’ll say:
"Not anymore."
He's not chasing women anymore. If they want him, they know where to find him.
