Melodic Loops/Samples

Hey all,

I want to ‘perform’ with my samples, like drum along whilst playing melodies and chords but I’m struggling to find samples without drumming.

Is this where those subscription services come in handy? Or is it just a matter of digging?

I have a number of intros that don’t have drums but as an intro they only provide so much.

So far I’ve been able to chop up songs and small chops to drum along whilst playing but I’d like chords or melodies that I could let play for 4-8 bars.

As you can imagine once drums come in it becomes tougher to not only chop the phrase you want within or around any sort of drum beats that can throw the sound of timing off

I use the MPC Sample and am avoiding using a computer for anything - only because I loose 3 hours and actually make very little. I want to sit down, chop something up find some drum one shots and drum along.

I am still finding choosing drum one shots tedious - I have a Roland Mc-101 and I love being able to have a full kit with maybe changing out a perc here and there.

Probably the inevitable task I’ll undertake with a computer will be organising ’drum kits’ with sounds that all work together

Any advice?

This is my first sampler - how am I doing?

I’ve never tried sampling before. After many failed attempts of using a computer to make music however, I’m starting to find some momentum with dawless music creation - this is a #sorrynotsorry for the audio quality.

I have a Roland Mc-101 which I thoroughly enjoy but I wanted to try my hand at sampling. I’ve had this bad boy for a day.

But definately keen on some feedback or any videos or artists to look into to learn more about it.

TY

How do you use the ‘view’ function?

Reposting as my original post got modurded. Hoping my post title is better this time.

When you set a view why doesn’t it lock it?

It should create a temporary view if you change a filter in a view or bounce you back to default but not change the current view..

It feels like a pointless feature unless you’re meticulous in changing views before applying different filters or clearing filters

Unless I’m missing something?

So, how do you use views?

What do you main as a pouch?

Hey team,

I’m wondering what ya’ll use as a daily pouch - more so enquiring something that fits in your pocket.

I have a tried a couple of pouches I have some bigger options used in my bag

But I’m looking for something that at the end of the day I can just chuck everything in that has a bit of structure and can open up a fair bit.

I need something long enough for a couple of pens, a couple of markers, then some other bits and pieces like a small knife (half the size of a pen) a small olight, some fidget stuff etc and anything else I have that I can then jam in a pocket - like work pants leg pocket.

So just curious what you guys use/any recommendations that sounds like it’ll fit the brief.

Because I’m not super straightforward looking recommendations/your use case on:

Pouches to put into a work pant, vest or hoody pocket.

Has structure (isn’t floppy)
Opens up with sides to keep everything in place

Elastic/pockets are supplementary at the moment, but wouldn’t be mad at them if I did want to organise everything going in

Thanks
