Data transfer after activating Switch 2

Hi everyone!
I'm traveling abroad next month and plan on buying a Switch 2 to play a new game while I'm there.. I don't want to bring my Switch 1 with me just for the setup part.
Will I be able to recover my saves and game list after the fact?

Any recommendations on saving costs?

Currently I try to turn off any MCP I'm not using, Using Sonnet for implementation and Opus only for planning. Starting new conversations when possible.
Any other tips?
