Here is my two cents or Shnekel if you will.

Alex's choice do don his peace Kippa on the eve of the Israeli memorial day was a PR stunt that will fuel antisemites for years to come.

Alex claims he's a Zionist and has valid criticisms of Israel's actions in Hamas' rise to power, a nuanced position that's fair and legitimate.

What I don't get is where was that nuanced thinking when he chose to wear his Kippa for the IDF memorial day?

I'll preface with the following, I'm for free speech, I don't personally get offended by the Palestinian flag and I would have had the discretion to not deface a Kippa.

Alex got away with his PR stunt, Israel is not the US and freedom of speech is not absolute. There is legal precedent for stopping people from breaching the peace by using offensive religious symbols.

Now instead of realizing that he got a slap on the wrist he went with a big mega stink fest.

Instead of rising up for the occasion Alex made memorial day all about himself, all of Israel had to hear about this provocation while actively grieving for their loved ones.

Yes, Alex's Kippa should have not been defaced for so many reasons mainly free speech.

Anyone could conjure something that looks innocuous for outsiders yet deeply offensive and this is exactly what Alex did.

Alex had joined the fray of Jews that are used to spread antisemitism, along side Bibi, Ben-Gvir, Epstein, Neturei Karta and that IDF soldier with the sledgehammer.
