Coworkers making assumptions about me
I’m a new deliveries associate and I’ve been doing really well recently. Even got my first homer. I work really hard, I do a lot of the difficult orders and communicate as much as possible. I keep feeling like I’m getting closer to earning my coworkers respect. The other day my buddy came up to me and said that another coworker was saying I need to hit the gym because we’re getting a lot of lumber orders. This bothered me because I’ve been doing a bunch of the lumber orders with everyone else but the guy who said this. I don’t really have a problem with them. It’s disappointing that after all the work I’ve done to earn the respect of my coworkers, there are some who appear to view me as lesser. I take medication that’s making it very difficult to lose weight. I just don’t understand why he couldn’t just say this to my face, it hurts hearing it come from someone else, and makes me wonder how much they’re saying behind my back.
