How the Seahawks Schemed the RED ZONE to Beat the Rams

How the Seahawks Schemed the RED ZONE to Beat the Rams

Breakdown by a former NFL coach (I spent 11 years with the Falcons and Bucs) of the Seahawks Red Zone plan against the Rams in the NFC Championship Game. The Seahawks had a great plan to handle the Rams 1/4's coverage and exploit their Bunch adjustments. In the video we'll take a look at all three passing TD's in the game and a couple of plays that were well designed but didn't hit.

The video is 15 minutes, so a little long for most attention spans, BUT I promise you it's the best analysis and explanation of how things work you'll ever see. If you are interested in the "how" and "why" of the NFL this is for you.

If you have any questions or feedback just let me know.

3rd Down Wheel Route Conversion Breakdown

Breakdown by a former NFL coach (I spent 11 years with the Falcons and Bucs) of the Wheel Route from Darnold to Walker against the 49ers in the playoffs. It's just 4 minutes but is a good breakdown of the mechanics of the play and how the Seahawks (particularly Cooper Kupp) took advantage of the 49ers man coverage.

If you are interested in the "how" and "why" things work or don't work in the NFL this is for you.

If you have any questions or feedback just let me know.

Seahawks Run Game Breakdown vs 49ers

Breakdown by a former NFL coach (I spent 11 years with the Falcons and Bucs) of the Seahawks run game against the 49ers in the playoffs. It's 14 minutes and covers six plays from that game: outside zone with a "pin," weakside inside zone with a TE kick out, strongside inside zone with Cooper Kupp cutting out the backside DE, outside zone with a TE "shove" block, regular outside zone and pin & pull.

If you are interested in the "how" and "why" things work or don't work in the NFL this is for you.

Breakdown by a former NFL coach (me) of the Broncos use of Bo Nix in the run game. It's 10 minutes and covers five plays from the playoff game against the Bills: Zone Read with a "Slap" block, Zone Read with a "Crack" block, Naked Boot off Zone Read action, GT Counter Read and QB Taxi. If you are interested in the "how" and "why" things work or don't work in the NFL this is for you.

If you have any questions or feedback just let me know.

This quick video breaks down one of the Bills 22 Personnel (2 RBs, 2 TEs) runs from their playoff game with the Broncos. They used the personnel grouping to bait the Broncos into their Under front and started Jackson Hawes split out in the slot to ensure Denver would set the front the way they wanted it. I take look at a handful of the other runs from that game, and how the Bills use Bunch sets to set up their 11 Personnel runs in this video.

Fair warning, the full video is 20 minutes long. It's very educational but if you don't want to learn the 'how' and 'why' behind what the Bills are doing then it isn't for you.

Breakdown by a former NFL coach (me) of the Patriots approach to known passing situations against the Texans defense in the playoffs. It's 20 minutes and covers a lot - how the Pats handled Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, the passing concepts and why they're running them, reads and progressions, etc. If you are interested in the "how" and "why" things work or don't work this is for you.
