Take a moment

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the community aspect of post-hurricane responses? I’ve seen several comments on here and in my neighborhood about how helpful everyone is.
It’s been wonderful finally getting a chance to meet so many of my neighbors I don’t see as often. The internet often has people thinking everyone is an asshole, but if you look around and actually interact with people, most people are decent people. There’s no difference between you and me when we both have no power and a tree on our shared fence.

The night sky without light pollution has been beautiful too, which is nice.

Extra income

I currently work in private practice and the summer slump has got me looking for ways to use my time more wisely when client’s cancel or no-show. I sometimes end up with about 5 hours throughout the week that I’m hoping to fill with some form of an income stream. Something remote like data entry that I could hop on and hop off of whenever I please would be convenient, but I wanted to come here to see if anyone had any ideas? Would love to hear from y’all

I made a thing but am not sure how to finish it

So I made a thing (not sure what else to call it) out of purpleheart and cannot figure out how to finish the internal sides. I tried to just knife finish them but the wood is so hard and the shape so non-uniform that I cannot get clean cuts. I tried sanding but I cannot reach through the openings enough to do so. I mostly used a file to get the inside edges smooth, and I considered a Dremel bit but I can’t really get anything through the openings due to the angles. Any out-of-the-box ideas would be helpful!
