Just picked up an Africa Twin and am heading to Arizona in late January for a week of as much dirt as possible. I know AZ backcountry very well from many years of exploring and touring, as well as how it treats mountain bike tires. I know I need something robust.

So I'm looking for tire suggestions for this big ol' bike. First time taking an off road moto trip in AZ, but have done a bunch in less "hostile terrain" on the 650cc I had prior.

The catch is: I will have 750miles of pavement getting there and back, so I need something that won't suck for those 1500 miles.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

My last three flights have been late making my layovers a sprint to make my next flight.

I had gotten to the airport early and asked for an earlier flight. The one the agent chose had a 30min layover, so I asked if that was too tight a time frame and they said it would be no problem. Well, lesson learned.

Today's flight was late as well, and when we were landing my next flight was already boarding. When I got off the plane I went straight to a SW desk and told them I was here and rushing, and asked they let my next flight know. The response was literally, "they won't hold it for you."

I made my flight (barely), but they have made it crystal clear they don't care.
