Part one of analyzing my characters (OOC post)

I've figured out for a while now the main bond tying all my characters together and I've wanted to tell people about it for a while, just because I find it really interesting to dissect stories and see what they're made of. I'm gonna be doing that with my characters now.

The main thing that ties my story together is lack of power. This 4-part series of posts will be analyzing each of my favorite characters into how their struggles and life connects to power. (might make a 5th part if I really wanna, but probably won't go past that) However, since this is the first post, I'm gonna summarize the 4 characters' connections to this theme of coping with lack of power:

218: Already at peace with the fact that he's weak.
Evelyn: Purposefully ignoring her weakness to a fault
Nico: Trying to figure out what his purpose is if it's not to be powerful
Clover: Being powerful, but still not being able to reach happiness.

PART ONE: 218

218's probably the only one of the 4 who's actually truly happy. He's not as bubbly and ambitious as Evie, or as collected as Clover is (most of the time) but he's definitely the most satisfied. He worked at a lab dedicated to capturing powerful magic, the ICM, for almost a decade as a guard. The lab would contain magical creatures and people and try to figure out how to capture this magic for human use, but it never worked. Humans never got magic by the end, and the ICM was defunded. But 218 was a guard, which means that when the lab was still running, he would be in direct contact with these otherworldly beings who could probably kill him in a minute flat with little effort. He was dwarfed in power his whole life, but it bred wisdom. Of course, he wasn't the ONLY guard who found ways to continue their job at controlling the subjects, but he had a unique way, where he wouldn't fight. It was risky, he almost died several times over, but he got away in the end. He knew when to bluff, he knew when to fight, he knew when to run, and he knew when to just be nice. This led to 218 being mostly peaceful and his approach to being a guard wasn't to contain the subject, but to protect everyone including them. He's a GUARD, not a cage.

But because of his ability to deal with powers greater than him with ease, when he met Clover and Evie, both of them instantly looked up to him in even if neither of them would say it for their own reasons. He's kind of the goal that they're all reaching towards, which does make him the most simple character, but definitely not the worst written. I'm proud of this one, I like him.

Do we know who this is?

I'm relatively new to Celeste, and I don't wanna have to go through the whole chapter 9 to figure it out. So, do we know who this person on the phone is or anything about them in relation to Madeline?

I'm sorry if this breaks a rule, I read the FAQ and didn't see it so I think it's allowed

▲ 132 r/protogen

Boy oh boy I love making angst slop

No protogens were harmed (because one of them is a mimic and the other is inexplicably surviving every circumstance via luck)

Art by me :3

// Evie has a message

(You can't interact with Clover cuz she isn't here and Evie sent a one-way message, but if you wanna interact, it IS a meeting, so you can discuss with others

// The room is quiet, obviously. It's not uncommon for an enemy of the company to send a message via the meeting room, but that doesn't make it any less important when it happens. Evelyn sent a video. It came out of the blue, and the high-ups decided to call a meeting about it.

// The projector screen turns on. Evelyn's facing away from the camera, looking off the edge of the cliff she stands at. Her scarf is tattered, her hands are in her pockets, and she looks tired. Very tired. As she speaks, her voice is buggy, maybe from the video, maybe from... Best not to think about what Fatal did.

Presenting: ANCIENT!KENSON part 1! (Read description)

So, OOC post here. I decided I wanted to make a Roman/Greek mythos esq AU of KcKenson. I'm gonna be taking characters here, and translating them to a mythological parallel.

The top comment will decide who I draw next (if I'm comfortable with it)

Every character will be part of one of a few main groups: The Underworldlings, The Olympians, Monsters, Titans & Primordials, and mortals. I'm gonna take existing lore about the character and translate it to how I think it'd work in the ancient mythos.

I recomend if you want your character to get one, make a comment to try to get people to upvote it. Tell people the original lore (from before it was ancient-ified), give an image for how they look (or a very detailed description) and give a reason for why they'd be interesting (But don't completely flesh out the lore, I wanna write some too)

But without further ado, let's get it started with...

Ancient!Kenson: 218!! (CCXVII)

He's part of a group called The Athians which seek to capture magic and it's users to harness it for human benefit. Generally, they do so with a violent nature, but 218 (Or has he's called in this AU, Maxium) believes he can do it without violence. He clashes a lot with other members but is widely regarded as one of their most important people because despite not having magic, he can compete with demigods, monsters, and legendary heroes. Because of this, he's got quite the name for himself even outside of The Athians. Maxium stands as a beacon of human spirit, and an inspiration for non-magicians all around. Oh, and he hasn't been successful in harnessing magic.

IMPORTANT EDIT

Ok so after some more consideration, I'm only gonna be doing this one time (cuz it'd be unfair to make a promise and not fill it) so the next ones of this are gonna be just who I feel like
