Why does no one stop for pedestrians

I’m a transplant from California and although people drive a lot more safely on the roads here, in parking lots it seems like the culture is completely different. Despite the fact that pedestrians have the right of way ESPECIALLY in parking lots/shopping centers people fly through without any consideration for people walking into stores or across roads.

Why is the culture here that pedestrians should wait for cars? I find it very dangerous and disrespectful. I’m not sure if this is a Manhattan thing or a Kansas thing in general. In California people are almost overly cautious when there are people in the road, slowing to a crawl in order to keep road conditions safe.

Maybe i’ve just had bad luck in the two years i’ve lived here but I would love to hear if anyone can relate or would like to share some of their own perspective

PTO/Sick Time Accrual?

I started as a SFS in March, I got a full week of PTO automatically when I started but I haven’t seen anymore accrue and the Zebra app is so confusing.

It went from showing my 37.5 hours of PTO to saying this? But I know I already used all of it between two trips so idk why it says I still have some…..

My manager says it will accrue over time but when does my accrued time get added to my account?
