I miss her so much already

Lost our beautiful Grandma on 8/5/26. I don’t know if it’s too soon but she was my world for two years and I was her care giver. We had many ups and downs but we loved each other hard. Even still, she was one of my best friends. We spent a lot of time together over the years. I begged her for months to go to the hospital, so she can get treatment and help but she refused and kept telling me that she was never going back and that she wanted to die at home. Her dementia got really bad and she always talked about missing my Grandpa so much over the years. I started her on Hospice at home shortly after since I knew what was coming….but I honestly didn’t think it would come so fast. I really thought we had more time together. She had a bed side nurse 24 hours a day for the last couple of days, and everyone kept insisting that I get rest that night since she had someone watching over her. She passed away while I was asleep. I feel so guilty about not being there and so worried about her knowing how much I truly love and miss her. I guess I’m just dealing with the emptiness of life and the house. It’s just never going to be the same. I still find myself worrying about her and hoping she’s okay and happy. Is she ? Is she with her loved ones and my Grandpa? She went through so much at the end. I would have done more for her if I could. I love her so much and really hope to see her and hold her again. I’d do caregiving all over again.

We just unexpectedly put down our baby Zelda and I’m not well. Is she okay?

I’m out of words right now and sitting next to her as I type this. I really thought we’d be bringing her home with us today. That’s all I wanted for my birthday….for her to be okay. Does she forgive me? Is she okay? I really she finds our family or someone to look after her. She’s the sweetest most bravest scared little kitty. We had her for two wonderful years. She was rescued from a Home Depot. I hope I see her and hold her again. Thank you if you read this far. I love you Zelda.
