Ancient Greek Themed Mallet

Mallet I made with a few different woods, guess them all correct and you win (4 total). Handle is relatively weak so this will be a lighter duty guy, for running in dowels, wedges, bonking things into place here and there. Could’ve spent more time removing burn marks on ends, but wanted to finish it. I used a belt sander on a jig to shape it, left some deep burns on the ends, lesson learned there. Finished with 50/50 beeswax/mineral oil. Fun project overall.

Criticism welcome, thanks.

New NPR Tiny Desk

My brother sent me a link to a new death cab tiny desk on YouTube this morning, said it was released today. Clicked the link and it was removed by NPR YT channel, anyone else see this? Know what’s going on? They better repost asap and fix whatever was wrong lol.

First hang, Collins double bit

TLDR: Any advice on first hang?

Posted a few days ago asking some advice, appreciate everyone who commented.

My first axe hang, had a premade handle, but the eye on the Collins was a half inch and had to slim the handle down a ton. This was made more difficult because the kerf was already precut. Had to jam a spacer in there to work on it. Made a shavehorse and used a draw knife but ended up finishing shaping with a hand belt sander jig I made. Took way longer than I thought, pretty happy with it. Gave her a test run and she seems strong. Danish oil on the cap, handle already had poly, will prolly get rid of if I end up using this a bit.

Some tiny gaps on the bottom and two larger ones at the ends of the wedge, I guess I should’ve made my wedge wider and rounded to accommodate? Also feel like my wedge may have been too thick?

Any advice/feedback welcome, plan on making my own handle for the next one.
TIA

Right-handed hewing hatchet

Hello, I just got this right-handed hewing axe head. Was wondering if anyone could guess age range or maker? Pretty pitted but there is remnants of a makers mark on the beveled side in the last photo. I’ve wanted one of these for a few years and finally found one for cheap. Plan on making a curved handle to actually use it as a hewing hatchet, any advice on handle length would help as well.

Thank you, just started my axe handling journey.

Norland axe head, handle length suggestions?

I just restored these two axe heads, top is a Collins (Michigan pattern?), bottom is a norlund boys axe? Not really sure how to go about handling the norlund, I have a handle prefinished for the Collins. Any advice on length of handle, or anything else would be appreciated. First time hanging an axe

I Burned You a Tower

Here is a woodburning piece, Soundless Spire, I did inspired by the upcoming album, just finished it today. Thought of this concept after I heard IBYAT (a) the first time, a bit on the nose thematically, but I’m happy with it. Bonus Transatlanticism burn I did a month ago.

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knows why “Indian Summer” is not on the track list for “Kurt Cobain: About a Son Soundtrack” on Apple Music. I’ve been trying to find it but it seems to be left off the track list. Would like to add it to a playlist I’m making. If anyone knows about this song or has any idea what’s going on I’d appreciate it.
