Am I a nightmare client?

Hello,

My mom recently passed and as the only child her house was left to me, and I would like to sell it.

The house is not very local to me, I've already spent days down there clearing everything out. There is some minor work that I think would make a big difference while selling it. Namely the flooring in the primary bedroom and some baseboards and paint. The thing is I don't know anyone in that town as far as getting the work done and I'm a flight attendant who's already away from home 3 to 4 days a week. I was hoping to find an agent that had some contractor contacts and would be willing to like schedule the work and let whoever in the house the needs to get in there. I was told this was definitely a thing some agents offer (never bought or sold a house myself, all new to this).

I've reached out to multiple local real estate firms in the immediate area via their contact forms and emails over the past week and a half or so, explaining that basic situation. But not a single one has contacted me back, besides an AI text message for a while, and even that eventually said it would forward my info and I never heard back.

Am I mistaken and this is out of the scope of a real estate agent? I mean obviously the commission percentage would be adjusted and stuff I'm not expecting extra work for free.
