Early 2000s Diesel denim was built different

I’ve always been fascinated by the quality of older Diesel jeans especially pieces from the early 2000s so I decided to photograph one of my older pairs with a macro setup and look at the denim really closely, the weave, the irregularities, the texture, the stitching and the way the fabric has aged over the years

The 500mm f/5.6 PF on a D300 a surprisingly capable wildlife combo

I’ve been experimenting with pairing the Nikkor 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR with my old D300 (1.5x crop), and honestly I had to share because the results caught me off guard.

For birds and distant wildlife, that’s genuinely serious glass on a budget-friendly used body.

The D300’s AF system, while old, is still solid and tracks moving subjects reasonably well.

Anyone else still shooting long glass on older Nikon DSLRs? Curious what bodies/lenses you’re running.
