First, lets get to the chase, do they work? With the dual floor/face setting and the AC motor cranked up, there is a noticeable amount of cold air pushed to the body of the back seat passengers. I did a side by side with the OEM vents which comparatively only pushed air directly across the bottom inch of the floor with no air reaching the passengers. I am also like how low they sit. I usually have the drivers seat at it's lowest setting and there is still plenty of clearance for these vents to sit without having to worry about them hitting. As Installed:
Now the bad, and there is a lot of bad.
The OEM vents are held by clips on the front and screws on the back. These replacement parts only have two screw holes and no clips, which means the front vent connection is loose and can be picked up with about a 1/4 inch of play. Not good for stress on the back screws and not good for vents that are supposed to be somewhat sealed. The original reddit post showing the prototype design seemed to indicate there would be clips, but they are nowhere to be seen.
These are also the worst quality 3d printed parts that I have ever seen, ordered and home prints included. There is pitting everywhere, large layer ridges, scratches and an unfinished edge on the vent opening on both pieces. There is also a terrible looking logo on the top of the vents that is so badly printed I cannot even read it (it also stares at you from under the seat if you have the front seats sitting higher).
To make matters worse, the images on the etsy site seem to be AI generated. Not only do they show a perfectly smooth product, they also show screw holes on the side that is flat and should have clips. They also show two bolts off to the side, where the car hardware uses screws. There is no way that this is a render of the STL based on these mistakes.
All in all, I am very disappointed with this purchase. I have them installed because my daughter has been constantly complaining about the lack of air in the back seat due to the summer heat, but I will be replacing these as soon as there is any alternative available. I would caution anyone from ordering this part as there are clear quality control issues that need to be addressed.
