Crazy idea but why dont we just expand caltran?

It goes from sf to gilroy already, the infrastructure is already there in the bay area which almost eliminates the cost from building there.

We could stagger the trains with the local ones to include more long haul style trains with reclining seats and luggage space for the trips to la/SD. Plus we dont need to design and spend for new design of the train wr just change up the interior.

The stops could be like an express route from sf/Salesforce tower, SSF to get those bart transfers, San Jose, Fresno, Bakersfield then LA.

The training and education system for mechanics is already working and in the books so we can save a ton of money from building out a brand new one

It may not go as fast as a shinkansen but it seems way more cost effective to just expand a regional railway to a statewide one.

Those that moved from CA/San Francisco Bay Area, what do you think?

I ask this because on the SF subreddits it has a lot of posts with people that moved to SF from Austin or Texas and it's the typical circlejerk of praising SF while railing on Austin or Texas in general.

I've been to Austin twice. While the heat is definitely something that needs getting used to and to consider when going out, I think the city overall is lovely. Your people are more outgoing and friendly in Austin and it's much nicer having outdoor music venues, restaurants, bars etc. Also your nightlife is fuckin crazy fun and you can find something to do for most ages.

So for those of you that moved TO austin from CA/San Francisco Bay Area, what do you think of Austin so far.

BK has entered my burger rotation.

I've had my BK renaissance lately. I've been going back a few times now just for the whopper between different locations (santa clara, ca) and yea this burger is pretty legit and consistent now. I felt like way before it was a sloppy mess, now the burger has crunch, it's soft where it needs to be, the char on the burger is perfect. I felt like i was eating a burger burger, not a concocted fast food mess.

Just a straight single patty whopper with cheese was perfect today. With that being said, BK is now in my official burger rotation.

Wrong band photo

The Paradox is actually an all black punk rock group. Crazy how they missed this, i have no idea who these guys in the picture are.

In fact according to the band website, the paradox isn't even playing at bottlerock
