Some thoughts on medication

These are my personal experience and of course it would be different for everyone.

  1. Fluoxetine - happy pill stops you from freaking out and bounce around in your thoughts
  2. Wellbutrin - cuts down on the noise. I literally am thinking about less things on it
  3. Ritalin - keeps you focused - as long as you are on track it will help you stay there and not get derailed
  4. Coffee/Tea - very short and intense burst of energy and focus - won't last long but can be topped up

Before I continue - don't self medicate - discuss with your psychiatrist and come up with a plan my goal is to help you understand what is happening.

Now the bad thing - none of them are magic pill and not all of them are needed. Figure out what is the minimum you need to be productive without loosing the person you are inside.

Ok so now the details-

Fluoxetine effect is hard to realize - you will notice over time you are calming down and being able to focus even when everything tells you you should freak out and have a meltdown. You have to be careful in my line of work there are situations when you have to manage chaos - it is alright to freak out internally as long as that keeps you on your toes and gets you results. Too much and you will let the house burn down and not care about it.

Wellbutrin - noise goes down and you have less things to focus on. I feel it is awesome when you have to do one thing at a time - maybe you are in a new job or you are starting your career. You have less things to get distracted and you do your tasks well. It definitely wasn't for me - my job requires me to be able to handle situations when things are not working well including multiple issues going on in parallel. ADHD really shines here - I am able to track multiple things and keep them from falling apart. When I was on Wellbutrin and Fluoxetine together I was so chill that I could have got fired.

Dyslexia and Apraxia

I am told it is quiet common to have a overlap. Son has both and yes he has both speech therapy and specialized schooling but is there anything beyond that which has helped. We worry a lot about his aversion to reading and writing but he is still in middle school and we would like to hear what else can we do to make high school and potentially college easier for him !

How can I help my son with Dyslexia

His first language is english - we do speak a different language at home but interact with him in english. He was diagnosed with dyslexia in middle school and of course he is privileged to get every accommodation allowed. Personally me and my wife both love the language and love reading fiction and non fiction books on our own. We watch a ton of movies hence we don't think it is a matter of not being able to think in english. His dyslexia is preventing him from expressing himself and even attempting it. In high school this will significantly impact him in-spite of accommodations and specialized school environment. Of course I am not in his shoes to understand fully what he is going through but we feel his bottleneck with expression is making him a recluse.

He does have great teachers who help him to work around his challenges but I feel he would benefit from having a language mentor - someone who can guide and coax out what he wants to say. I feel he will do much better in life if he can somehow overcome his hesitation to express.

With this background what would the recommendation be to help him ? It almost seems like I would like to find someone who is passionate about the language and capable of having non traditional way of appreciating the language.

Is this correct EV behavior?

I am a new Touring owner and this is my first EV. I am very curious whether this is how it should be working 🤔

A trip from my home to the store has five red lights and two stop signs and a 30 deg incline on return trip. The whole trip I am at 20-27 mph. The engine kicks off everytime I start from a full stop - I have tried both Eco and Normal mode. The whole experience feels like I am driving a old car which has given up. The same trip if I force the car in charge mode will max out the battery at the first stop itself and then switching to EV mode makes it do the full trip on battery only and it is frankly an awesome experience.

The other thing I noticed in city driving it will switch to engine at two bars - guess when it stops - at three bars. I thought lithium batteries prefer to be charged close to 100 and go as low as possible before starting to charge it.

The whole experience makes me think the Honda computer is trying its best to kill the life of both the engine and battery. I can not believe stopping and starting the engine every 3-4 minutes is either eco friendly or good for the engine life.

Another thing I noticed the engine and battery works better together on the highway when I am at a almost constant speed and I believe I get a better mileage. So am I just a bad driver or am I using the car wrong ?

Flaky GPS

So it's been two weeks of owning 2026 Touring and I have rebooted the infotainment system four times already. Basically the GPS thinks I haven't moved from the last time I turned off the car. Of course it can't be gps signal since it starts working immediately after a reboot. Today actually the reboot didn't even succeed and I had to turn off the vehicle at a stop to get it back on.

Is this a known problem or I just got a shitty infotainment system/gps ? I asked the dealer and of course they haven't heard of it but would like me to bring it over if it bothers me too much. The thing is I have no way to reproduce the problem so taking it to the dealer is going to be a hit or miss.
