Anyone else's Gen 2 Atlas kickstand engage WHILE biking?
So i was biking a few weeks ago as normal in a neighborhood street. I had looked ahead and not noticed a small pothole maybe about 4 inches wide. But it was enough that when I ran over it, my kickstand engaged while I was moving thus dragging on the ground for a few feet until I stopped. Thankfully the kickstand will stay engaged once engaged but it does not seem to lock anymore.
This isn't like the infamous issue where it would not engage the lock because of dirt and grime, where Tern ended up offering to send a little cover. My kickstand goes all the way where it should and I can see the lock catch. It's just that if I move the bike forward, it'll disengage without having to release the kickstand with the lever.
I have no experience with the Gen 3 kickstands but why hasn't Tern improved such a basic issue that other kickstands don't experience i.e. add a raised groove that locks the kickstand when disengaged. Perhaps for accessibility issues which is fine but even like a magnet to hold it in place could work.
So now I have to bring it to a Tern retailer to have them work with Tern and confirm the diagnosis and potentially replace it.
