One-shot this video by AI, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

AI picked the style, transitions, voiceover and music for a promo video on its own, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Tried letting AI make a promo video end to end recently. gave it a landing page url and nothing else. it chose the visual style, the pacing, the transitions, the voice, even the BGM, and output the video in ~3min.

The quality isn't the surprising part (some scenes are good, some are clearly ai). what got me is that taste - the part I always assumed was the human half of motion design - just got decided. and the choices weren't random, they mostly made sense.

Curious what people here think. Is creative direction actually the last human part of this, or is that wishful thinking too?

Just Launched on PeerList! | LaunchVideo.app

Hey guys, I'm Joey, founder of LaunchVideo. It turns your product into a launch video without making you spend half a day in an editing timeline.

Where it came from: I kept seeing founders skip making a demo video because editing is painful, and the AI tools out there mostly spit out generic stock-footage slideshows that don't actually explain your product. So I built something that does.

You drop in a product URL (or now just a prompt if you don't have a site yet), and LaunchVideo writes the script, generates the voiceover, picks the music, and builds animated scenes. All AI-generated, in a few minutes. The nerdy part: instead of templates, an LLM literally writes the animation code for each scene, which gets compiled and rendered into a real video. Then you export it as a file or a share link.

We've been in public beta about a week, a few hundred users in, and honestly most of the recent features (prompt mode, music & voice, share links) came straight from people in communities like this one. So thank you 🙏

Anyway, just launched on PeerList's LaunchPad! If you're on there, I'd love to connect with more founders and see what you're building, so please reach out.

And if LaunchVideo sounds useful, an upvote would genuinely help: https://peerlist.io/zzjoey/project/launchvideo

P.S. totally free to try if anyone wants to play with it 😄

I built an app that turns any website into a launch video - here's one it made for Cursor's site. Would love feedback

I'm building an App to turn website into launch motion video - paste a URL, get a short product/launch video (auto-generated script, voiceover, animated scenes). Trying to save founders the time/budget of making one from scratch.

To test it on something other than my own site, I pointed it at cursor.com and let it generate a video end to end:

Two things I'd really like SaaS folks' honest take on:

  1. Does it actually look shippable? Where does it read as "AI-generated" in a bad way, pacing, voiceover, a scene that drags?
  2. Where would this fit in a real launch? Landing page hero, Product Hunt, demo for cold outreach, or is a generic auto-video never quite good enough vs. a custom one?

No need to sugarcoat it. I'd rather hear what's off now. Happy to share how the pipeline works under the hood if anyone's curious.

Anyone else getting 404 when trying to use Gemini 3.5 Flash on Vertex AI?

Saw that Google just dropped Gemini 3.5 Flash, so I wanted to give it a try.

My current Vertex AI setup works fine with gemini-3-flash-preview, so I simply changed the model ID to gemini-3.5-flash. But now I’m getting:

404 Publisher Model not found

I’m on Vertex AI Tier 1, so I’m not sure if the model just isn’t available to my project/region yet, or if I’m using the wrong model ID.

Honestly, this is pretty frustrating. It feels like every time Google releases a new Gemini model, I run into some availability or naming issue, and it’s never clear whether I need to wait, switch regions, enable something, or use a different model name.

Anyone else running into the same issue? Has anyone managed to get Gemini 3.5 Flash working on Vertex AI yet?

Comment your URL and I’ll make you a free launch video

Hey founders and builders,

I’m building a simple tool that turns any webpage into a short motion video.

No prompt.
No script.
No editing.

Just paste a URL, and it generates a launch-ready video you can use for X, LinkedIn, Product Hunt, your landing page, or investor updates.

To support the community and keep improving the product, I’ll create a free custom launch video for the first 100 startups, indie projects, or side projects that comment below.

DM me and comment a Hi below!

That’s it.

If your page is public, I’ll use it to generate a short video based on your website and send it back when it’s ready.

No signup required.

A mention would be appreciated if you like the result, but it’s completely optional.

Why?

Most early-stage products need a simple way to explain themselves quickly. A short motion video can help you show what you’re building on X, LinkedIn, Product Hunt, or your own landing page without spending hours editing.

Excited to see what you’re building.
