Please forgive me if this is addressed in more recent seasons, as I am only on season 4.

But did Tammy know who stole all her belongings?

I realise she had been away for awhile, but no one seems overy surprised that she had, had her house emptied.

To take everything, including her clothing seems rather odd too.

Seems more like it is someone she knows getting back at her.

Lastly. When Tammy is about to get married, her sister makes an off the cuff comment that when Tammy falls in love, she falls hard. She even gives them her whole god dammed house.

Again.

Just makes me think they know who emptied her house.

Just curious, as it seems like such a big thing to have such a small story line.

They haven’t really addressed this (except for Chris talking about how he has to quit before his surgery), but I definitely keep seeing cigarette smoke in the background. I’m only on season 3 (they are just going on their family vacation), but it’s definitely the elephant in the room.

Also, I cannot with Tammy. She is infuriating. I’ve never watched someone who made me so angry. And all of her enablers are right up there too.

I’m on S7Ep1 and so far Tammy has lost about 500 lbs but she is still having mobility issues(the episode where they went to the lake obstacle course). now I do understand that she does still have excess skin which doesn’t help. but she has been dieting and exercising for years now and her stamina still will not allow her to walk for long. not even like it’s difficult movement like running or the swimming she missed out on ( which she should not be mad about that but that’s a whole other story.)

I’m curious to anyone that watched (still watch? Not sure if they still post it) their YouTube videos—-did they edit their videos at all or did they just post the hot mess raw footage as they shot it?

I’m only in the 2nd season, so I know I’m in for it. But now I can’t stop.

I finished season 8 this morning. I've got no more Dr Now episodes. What are we watching after it's all wrapped up? I don't know what to do!! 😂 #help

I'm going to have to get online to find some more similar. That Expecting show popped up after but I'm not impressed.

So am just catching up on season 8....do you guys believe Brittany did those things to Tammy.

Here's the thing....I kinda believe it. Brittany was giving her the evils on camera when she moved in.....which I understand but she couldn't help herself. Now Chris has in the past had both sisters living with him at different times so maybe this is it and their house is small...

what do you guys think? is there any truth to this

I'm not caught up on the seasons yet. I think I left off around the proposal in season 7? I've had Seasons 1-5ish on repeat the last several weeks on for background noise. (Apparently this is my comfort show/noise right now, what even is my life right now?)

I have some random 'lore' questions, as I've noticed from lurking on this sub long enough most of the stuff is from folks knowing things that aren't on the show. So if people want to chime in, that would be awesome. If not, awesome.

1. Can somebody explain the full Jerry situation? I know he was married, but also lived with Tammy for a year supposedly? But she was also pressuring him for a ring (which not surprised they all seem to think being married will give them worth - thanks Darlene for messing up your kids.) So did he just leave his sick wife and live with Tammy for a year? Did she have some other caretaker?
2. Can somebody explain the BBWKing stuff? I know I've seen people say it was all Tammy saying he was crazy but he wasn't, and they were still talking up till 2 weeks before she got married, which I mean she knew Caleb, what 3 weeks before she got married? so... not surprising?
3. Amy says repeatedly how she's been Tammy's caretaker (Which Amanda points out they've all done it.) which yes she has, but... I mean they make it sound like Tammy's been there a while before the show, and it sounds like Tammy had JUST moved in before the show started as Amy and Michael had been married for three months at the start of the show and Tammy had only been there a month?
4. If Jerry had such a BBW kink, why the hell isn't he helping out take care of Tammy? It is so awkward watching the scenes of Michael pushing Tammy in her chair and Jerry just standing there like boo boo the fucking clown.
5. What are the age differences between them all? I know Tammy and Amy are 15 months apart and have said they grew up with their siblings out of the house.
6. Were they no contact with the family before the show? I've seen posts where people said the siblings only came around because of the show. I get the more dysfunctional family vibes that have definitely gotten "closer". because of the show. I mean more only see each other at bbqs, holidays, special occasions only sort of things. - but that could be my own Ozark trauma-coded dysfunctional family experience coming out. (I'm. NC with 99% of my family my mother is a Darlene).
7. Can somebody explain the timeline to me with Tammy's trach? Chris is on his way to go get Tammy and bring her home, when he's told she has that infection. Then they have that meeting that they need all that training to be able to take care of the trach. Did they not know that before? Were they just heading up to Ohio on a wing and a prayer? Where was she going to stay? Amanda's house I don't think was available yet? Did they assume she could get into Amy's house? And why the hell is Darlene in on that meeting at the park randomly. WTF is she contributing to that conversation?

That's all atm, I'm sure I have more kicking around in my head.

Still steadily doing my proper watch through of the show and I have to speak on this because it just…throws me for a loop lol, but in s3ep5 Tammy mentions to both Amy and Misty (I think, pretty sure it was those two) that she’s thinking about going to Vegas to visit her then-boyfriend Phillip/the BBW King. When she said this I was just like uh…mam??? HOW DO YOU PLAN ON DOING THIS?? Mind you, this was when she was still 650-ish and struggled with just walking from the house to the mailbox. The only way she got anywhere long distance at this time was on the floor of a specific van driven by either Michael or Chris, so…was she expecting one of them to take off work to drive her across the country from Kentucky to Nevada solely for the benefit of her ‘relationship’? I can’t imagine a plane would’ve even been an option for her at that point so…I’m just kinda lost lol, I really have no idea what she was thinking when she concocted that scheme or how she envisioned it happening, and that says absolutely nothing about what she planned to do when she got to Vegas in terms of getting around, taking care of her needs etc- was she intending for the BBW King to do that for her? Maybe Amy who’d probably come along if Michael drove? A part of me wishes she’d had an opportunity to go into more detail about what, in her mind, the specifics of that trip would look like, but it seems Amy and Misty wisely kinda brushed it off without challenging her on the details, as obviously it wasn’t going to happen.

But idk what do yall think? What do you think Tammy’s ‘plan’ for this was or if she even had any? I know the point is mostly moot because it never happened anyway, but still, inquiring minds want to know lmaoo.

Given her strong sense of entitlement I could absolutely see her assuming, at least, that Michael and/or Chris (and maybe Amy tagging along) would take off work to drive her across country for this, but I honestly don’t know if she got that far in planning or considered the logistics of the situation in any way before floating the idea to everyone. 

I'm not sure exactly what season it was? Either 7 or the newest last I remember is Amy planning her wedding with Brian and the siblings saying they won't show up so I won't really comment on that.

When they go on that vacation (Tammy's first one after surgery) and Chris called Amy getting stressed about the boys 'a pity party' had to be the grossest most loser shit i have ever heard. She is genuinely going through the worst moments of her life leaving an abusive marriage becoming a newly single mom of two children under the age of three, she ABSOLUTELY has depression and I genuinely completely believe that she is suicidal. I live in the south I grew up in the south and it is textbook southerner not understanding mental health at all. I stopped watching that series hoping Amy would cut every single one of them off honestly

But I bring this up to ask- has it gotten better? I do not plan to keep watching but mom finished it and said Amy did have a wedding her siblings came to (I'm guessing a wedding that was not what she wanted) and also is Brian good? He seemed nice from what I saw! Are Amy and Tammy close again or still fighting?

I just started watching the show a few days ago. I had a sleeve gastrectomy at the end of April and am already down 60 lbs—although I weighed much less to start than either sister. And of course now, I can’t turn away from this train wreck. Excited to catch up!

One of the saddest things I’ve seen so far is how awful their mom is. Surrounding Amy’s “wedding”, the diet, surgery, etc…. How she immediately wanted to go out and call her mom to share her good news—and the mom couldn’t muster anything positive to say. And then when she was in pre-op crying for her “mommy”. It’s so sad that clearly none of them got any of the love and validation that they so clearly craved (as any child would).

I’m also shocked at how little prep was required for them to have surgery. Maybe they just didn’t show all of it, but I had to do significantly more to show it—multiple psych evaluations and clearance, monthly meetings with a dietician for 3 months, a support group, bloodwork, upper GI study, pre-clearance from my primary care doctor, EKG, 2-hour pre-op class and more. And then lots of that post-op as well.
