I got amy.

I know this has been talked to death but bear with me 😂 I just started season 8

Tammy’s reaction to the animal shelter thing was absolutely insane. Cussing her out because she asked if alpacas would be these was wild. Tammy is trash in general but she is extra terrible to Amy. I don’t even think the deadbeat mom comment is the biggest problem, calling Amy all of those names was just out of pocket.

Also Amy wanting taxidermy crabs at her Halloween wedding is cracking me the fuck up 😂 like that’s so outrageous. What a shit show. I love it.

Chris saying this as a reason Brittany had to sit in the backseat pissed me off HARD. Straight out of rehab Tammy sat her ass in that backseat. Now suddenly she can't? And the way he just told Brittany then walked off like...?

If I were Brittany, I'd definitely have an issue with Tammy. This showed hard how disrespectful Tammy is. Granted it's just a seat in the car? It's the entire context around it. All Tammy had to do was ask to sit up front instead of manipulating Chris who was so dumb to fall for that.

I’ve made it back to the 8th season. I had forgotten how vile Tammy is in this season. Like she’s been bad when she was bigger but calling Amy a dead beat mom, making Andrea so stress she’s rashing up, and even having “beef” with Britney seems so wildly different. I’m curious on what the censored words were during that text argument because everyone has been talking about the “deadbeat mom” comment but I bet she was also calling her horrible names about “being a whore”. That was always her go to when talking shit about Amy. I’m not saying Amy is a saint at all, or any of them all at since it’s just our favorite car crash I’m just curious on the opinions. I can’t imagine a family member acting like Tammy in any stage of her life, it’s borderline emotional abuse. Then she rants and rant about Amy is gonna regret burning this bridge cause I’m all she has but after rehab and the surgery it’s just been Tammy lighting a fuse with Amy. To me I just think she wants Amy to feel as ugly as Tammy feels, like they did to each other when they were fatter. She hates that Amy honestly is fine with how she looks. This has been an incoherent rant sorry, it’s 3am and I’m still up watching this garbage. I did this to myself 😭😤

Here’s what I think!

Amy- probably season 1 to season 5 (Season 5 was her downfall lol)

Tammy- season 1 and season 5 (I know there both so much healthier now but man I miss season 1s humor they were so funny!!)

Chris- all the seasons he’s in… the only time he annoyed me was when they went to New Orleans he said it was for Britney but they made it all about Amy

Amanda- all the seasons she’s in except for when she was living with Amy she was too self righteous like girl that’s Amy’s house (still love Amanda tho idk what type of woman she is but I love it 😂)

Misty- probably all her seasons to I just think she’s too judgemental sometimes but I love her!!

I’m doing my annual rewatch and I’ve wondered this for years: do we know what the actual reason for the fight is? They make it sound like it’s about the house and Amanda’s boys ruining the house/eating Tammy’s food, but we know that the house was actually in Amanda’s ex husband’s name so Tammy would have had to move regardless. Amanda also made a comment about defending Tammy’s name in rooms Tammy hasn’t been in and Tammy took great offense to that and asked why Amanda would bring that up which makes it appear to be about something else. So does anyone have any insight?

I'm in the UK so only just seeing the wedding episode, it seems there's such a gap between some outfits. obviously the main wedding party have nice suits and dressed ect but it seems even some of the siblings haven't made much of an effort with the outfits.

Is this a normal thing over there? It seems like some people tried but like Andrea and Tammy look like they're off to the shops or something. Loads of the guests look like they're just in everyday casual clothing?

And don't get me started on Brittany's weird undershirt.

Both have their faults, but after doing a rewatch of the entire series before the new season? I can't help from noticing how they excuse Tammy's actions left and right, but Amy is always the problem with no excuse.

For example:

- Amy lashes out at the smallest things? She needs to get her shit together, but when it's Tammy? She has hormonal problems. In the early seasons before her surgery? It was always "Well, Tammy shuts down and can't communicate well"

- Amy wants to get married asap? Everyone is on her left and right. Even Tammy who got married within a few weeks! Yet no one was pointing out that. Granted Amy has kids she clearly was not thinking about? I just don't get it

Etc, etc. I really don't understand why this family caters to Tammy, but then act shocked when she is a terrible human to them all. I definitely agree with jumping on Amy for all her bad actions. I can't comprehend why she treats her kids the way she does and let's them live in filth, around drugs, even leaves lighters in their reach! But I can't help from wondering if everything Amy has had happened was Tammy instead? They'd all make excuses.

Not sure if this has been mentioned… but Amy’s wedding planner really annoyed me, she seemed so judgy behind Amy’s back and about her wedding, and honestly I really liked how her wedding looks and her handmade pieces too.

Is it just me?

Was anyone else as turned off by Season 8 as I was? I know some/a lot/most of the drama is suggested/guided/contrived but come on. So much so that I just didn't buy it and, while there were issues all around, I had the biggest problem with Amy's story.

I get that they were hyping her wedding and no one was going to get excited for typical Amy getting married to that loser. But this personality makeover of suddenly being this righteous, dignified, controlled Amy jumped the shark for me. Her art show where people acted like she was actually talented was laughable. Now we're supposed to believe she's some amazing singer, too. Talk about believing your own bullshit.

But the biggest joke was this wedding. We're supposed to be all invested in her dream wedding to this guy, I mean really. The two of them just got busted for large quantities of drugs in the car with her kids in the backseat. Yes, he's a dreamboat, great influence, and just what her and the kids need in her life. It's a match made in a back alley.

I get that this show is a trainwreck and that's why everyone - including me! - watches it. So, TLC, leave it as is. Don't try to get us to believe they're suddenly something different.
