I’m curious if this is happening at other stands or if this is specific to my area/franchise.
Recently, our stand has gotten extremely strict about outdoor positions. If you’re assigned Lane 1, Lane 2, or Texter, we’re being told that we have to stay outside for the entire time we’re assigned there, even when there are no cars.
We used to be able to briefly go inside to refill our water, cool down, or even stand in the walk-in for a minute when it was extremely hot. Now we’re being told we cannot leave our position. Management has also said that not staying on lane can result in a written coaching/write-up.
From what we’ve been told, shift leads can ALSO get written up if a barista comes inside when they’re supposed to be outside because they’re expected to make employees stay outside. The reasoning being given is basically that working outside is “what we signed up for.”
The problem is that we’re currently dealing with temperatures around 100°F with the heat index/“feels like” temperature reaching around 105–108°F. Outdoor rotations can last around 1–2 hours. Even getting permission to use the bathroom can sometimes be difficult because the shift lead can deny the request.
There are usually around 20–30 employees working throughout the day at our stand and around 42 employees total, so this isn’t affecting just one or two people.
I understand that working outside is part of working at 7 Brew. I knew that when I took the job, and I’m not saying employees shouldn’t have to work outside. My concern is being required to remain outside during extreme heat without being allowed to briefly step inside for water or to cool down, while also being threatened with write-ups for going inside to grab water, sunscreen, or get a minute of relief from the heat.
Another issue is that the rotations don’t necessarily mean you’re only outside for an hour. Sometimes you can be scheduled for consecutive outdoor positions. For example, you could be on Lane 1 from 12–2 and then immediately be put on Texter from 2–3, meaning you’ve effectively been outside for around three hours.
I’ve also noticed that shift leads aren’t necessarily required to rotate themselves into outdoor positions for the same 1–3 hour periods, even though they’re the ones expected to enforce the policy.
I’m genuinely curious if this is happening at other franchises/regions or if my franchise is just cracking down particularly hard right now. What are the heat policies at your stand? Are you allowed to come inside for water or to cool down? How long are you normally outside? Can you get consecutive outdoor positions? Have employees or shift leads at your stand actually been written up for coming inside?
And has anyone ever taken concerns like this to HR, corporate, or OSHA? If so, did anything actually change?
I’ve loved working at 7 Brew, which is honestly why this change has been so frustrating. Lately it feels like employees are being treated like the gum on the bottom of someone’s shoe, and I genuinely don’t understand why things have suddenly gotten this strict.
So the place I normally go to has been all over the board with the rules. Some of the employees tell me I have to be in the work vehicle to get the discount. Some will give it to me if I'm in uniform. Sometimes I work at 10pm and I want to pick it up right before work and they're closed by the time I'm in the truck. I only ever get 7brew on the days that I work and usually right before a 3rd shift OR in the morning if I go in at 4am. Can anyone advise?
I ordered a large Blondie-SF, no ice, no topper. They didn’t even bother to fill it to the ice line. I’m glad I didn’t pay for this.
Anybody in the Dallas area tried this?

I just read somewhere that the originals get more oz of flavor automatically? This place is new in my town so when i started going i would get a large iced cinnamon roll, not knowing that it was a “breve”. So then i started to order a large iced latte with cinnamon roll and i noticed that when i get the lattes its not as sweet and i have to get it extra sweet. Could someone confirm/explain this please? Thank you! 😂
I was on lane as a texter for roughly 3 hours under a heat advisory. Is it normal to not be swapped out for that long? Because I genuinely almost passed out and could not do it anymore. I had to be sent home.
Curious why hot chocolate isn’t available to order in the app?
Pulled up to 7 Brew ready to get a free coffee with my 1,300 points just to be told we don’t have one. I asked, “well how many points is a free coffee?” The salesperson said,”1,000” so then I asked, “how many points do we have” and they said, ”1,300”.
So then I asked, ”is that not a free coffee?” And they said, “I don’t see it (the option to click free coffee)”.
Absolutely brain drain of an interaction that lead with me being unable to use my points. Why is this? To incentivize their ‘merch’? Not meaning to be a negative nelly but I wish they would train their people on new apps before trying to gaslight their customers.
Looking for recommendations for flavors, but please specify what kind of drink the flavor goes in!
When does 7brew start their fall line up of drinks? I’ve heard only 7brew has sugar free pumpkin.
I recently got out of the hospital and basically have to completely change my diet. I just found out at 26 I’m type 1 diabetic. I would love suggestions/recommendations. Anyone got any?
What’s the difference between choosing extra sweet vs when choosing a flavor, opting for “extra”
I had an interview for brewista a week ago, and they told me to respond to the email they sent me (to confirm my interview time) if I was interested in working at the stand. I did that, same day, and have sent like 5 emails to them over this past week. I've heard nothing back. I listed my phone number in multiple emails, but still nothing...
They said they need the help and that they're pretty busy. I was under the impression they'd want me to start today/Monday (that was the estimate they gave me), but I'm unsure what's going on.
There's no phone number (just a corporate virtual assistant), so I'm planning to go up there today.
Is this common? Should I have taken a hint and moved on? I just want to start working/training, but I'm not sure what to make of this first impression
UPDATE: they're just swamped; went up there and spoke to a shift lead, woke up to onboarding info on my inbox
I’m in the Fort Worth area and there are at least two locations that have absolutely no menu other than the constantly changing digital board near the front. I like to change up my menu so it’s incredibly annoying when there’s not a physical menu anywhere along the line.
Is this a thing at 7B? It feels like a pretentious and elitist parlor that treats basic drink ordering like a secret society initiation.
What is the training like at a stand? Today I went to 7brew. Well I used the app, the guy who took my code and payment said it did not go through but it did, before payment, he never confirmed what I had put down. So it took both orders my last night order which I did get last night and today’s. It took my free drinks but I got refunded my money and a free reward.
I have tried to buy more work shirts 3 times now, and every time I go to buy them, they are out of my size. I have been wearing the same 3 work shirts on repeat for so long, and I am in DIRE need of more. I remember my manager sending the worker discount code, but I don't remember if there is a private shopping website for us or not. If there is a separate site, I'll message my manager and ask for it, but I don't want to sound dumb asking for that if it doesn't exist. Any advice would be appreciated.
Is there a way that I can email or call to file a complaint? My little sister is an employee at one of the 7 brews and is dealing with bullying from the manager. It’s concerning because my sister used to love working there when it first opened, which wasn’t too long ago, but now, she completely despises having to go in because of this manager.
Being the protective big sister that I am, I really want to go by this location and curse her out, but I’m I don’t want to embarrass my little sister so I’ve decided to be mature about it and file a report but I can’t seem to find an email or a number.
What should I order I like banana mocha flavor?
