Thoughts on Vought Rising First Look

So just 2 days after the final epof The Boys was dropped prime video just released the official first look for it's prequel spinoff series Vought Rising

Honestly after getting disappointed from the final of the boys this first looks kind a good special the plot is (I read it on IMDb) that this show is a murder mystery so that is really something interesting

Looking forward to try this new take in The Boys world.

What do you guys think ? Let me know.

New comic show to replace The Boys

So now that the series finale has come and gone (please don't spoil. The missus and I are gonna binge Sunday/Monday), it just makes sense for another dark comic to be adapted into live action. Now, I don't know a note from dynamite comics but if they stick with image comics, there are a lot of options to choose from:

Spawn, the darkness, witch blade...

Or they could go with another publisher all together. Personally, I'd love to see a live version of "I hate fairyland". A cartoon of that would be too easy but making live action cartoonish effects could be sensational if done right. I just hope that whatever they do, they don't take a comic that was never bloody and gritty and make it that way just because. That usually ends up pretty awkward.

If I had to write season 5 of the boys, I would do it like this, please give it a read.

Instead of wasting whole season talking and finding V1 I could have made Sister sage already cracked the V1 formula using soldier boys blood till episode 3, and in episode 4 after getting the V1 formula she gave it to Homelander and also keep one dose for herself as well, so after getting the V1, Homelander becomes invincible and start thinking he is god so like in the last episode we all saw he arranged a live broadcast from the white House, but according to me he does it in episode 5 but as soon as live broadcast gets start someone hacked his live broadcast and plays the video of him doing with storefront and also cctv footage of him killing the black noir from previous season, and the live was not hacked none other then by Sister Sage she wanted a world war supe and the one dose she save for herself she had given to Butcher so when Homelander sees the broadcast and there is this words written on his Image "False God" as soon as he sees this Ashley comes to him and says sir we are having a problem people are leaving your broadcast and also we see increment in the number of your memes and post about you doing Storm front and "False God" is trending on twitter, I guess we need to stop this broadcast sir. Homelander looks at her and says " You don't need to do anything now Ashley". And he laser her right infront of the live broadcast. He kills all the people in the building camera gets drop on the floor and we only hear people screaming and running blood and laser sound, after he is done he picks up the camera full of blood and says by looking at the camera " God is Dead" and he drops it. Butcher sees this and realises at last Homelander snaped so he also injects himself with V1 to be prepared for the upcoming fight. Homelander goes to the vought building there he sees deep and Oh father, Oh father is raged by ashleys death and also terrified what Homelander did to her, he tries to attack him by screaming but Homelander grabs his mouth and snatches away the lower jaw and pull out his wind pipe using hands deep sees this and gets terrified and tries to run Homelander grabs him by neck and grabs his one leg and rip his one leg away after that out of pure adrenaline deep punches him as hard as he could but it does nothing to Homelander, homelander grabs his fist crushes it and rip his arm off after that he grabs does same to his other limbs, and finally crushing his face by stepping on it. And at the vought tower he sees throught the window which he had on his confrence room to the city and flies through the ceiling after this the episode ends and the episode 6 starts with news report of mass killing by Homelander shows video and photos of people getting killed by Homelander, and also the bought tower is destroyed and toppled. Butcher sees this and ask his team member to go hide somewhere, he asks sister sage to help his team hide at first she refuses but after some time she agrees to keep only females with her including Kimiko, starlight and the guys daughter who created the virus at this point starlight is already pregnant of 2 weeks. butcher asks his fellow men including ryan to think for a plan to kill Homelander, they meet at a hideout and plans what can be done while the news broadcast that military is struggling to fight the Homelander in the background. Mm suggests that now Butcher is also invincible, with the help of Ryan and solder boy we can go all in but frenchie ask they haven't seen soldier boy recently butcher notices this and also get curious where is Soldier boy, so butcher gives Ryan a risky task he asks him to confront Homelander and ask him to stop and also asking where is Soldier Boy? At first Ryan gets scared but butcher says "don't be scared boy I am with ya" so according to plan when Homelander lasering people through sky Ryan silently appear floating behind him Homelander turns and he was to going laser him but stops and realises he is Ryan, and he yelled and said "Why are you here? To stop me? To save these ants? To prove i am a false god? Ryan replies by saying " to be with you father" Homelander pause for a moment and starts illuminating his eyes and said " what are you really trying to do here?" He replies " "nothing, i am just trying to be a good Son" Homelander senses his heartbeat and sees it is normal he believes he might be saying truth, so he asks why now? Because I am killing these fu**ers?Ryan replies no because I have realised that all you ever tried was to be a good father and a good son, everyone does some mistakes and you did too but we can make things better we can be good. We can live as a happy family, you me and Grandpa. Homelander hugs him and cries and says finally someone understood me. All I ever wanted is to be loved by someone for real not by fear not for fame but as a person. Come son, i am gonna let you meet your grandpa, they both flies out of there, and goes to the very place where he first kept Ryan and becca, they both gets inside the house and Homelander shows Ryan the cryogenic chamber where Soldier boy is hibernating and tells me don't worry he is not dead, I just kept him there because I love him and I hope he love me too someday(crying), Ryan touches the glass panel and says I know he would be very happy to meet us as a family, can we get him out of there? Homelander yells and says no, not this early first let me prepare world for us, let me make the world bow to us, Ryan nodes as yes but deep down he just wants to tell butcher about the location. It is middle of the night and Ryan is laying on his bed and thinking about the way to tell butcher about the location he hears something slowly gets up from his bed again he hears something he slowly goes to the source of the sound and finds the room from where the sound is coming he uses his Xray vision to see through the wall and gets very scared for what he sees, he a crying and scared lady sitting on a sofa and Homelander laying on his lap and breast feeding, Ryan gets very scared and slowly turns away and instead of walking he flies just inches above the floor and goes towards his bed and lays there silently, and starts crying, Homelander comes to his room looking at him laying on his bed, ryan stops crying and pretends he is sleeping but Homelander hears his heartbeat and says don't try you know I can sense your heartbeat for a moment Ryan does nothing but when Homelander tries to touch him he flips and shows Homelander his laser eyes, Homelander asks what happened? Nightmare? Ryan realises and says sorry I just saw a nightmare, Homelander says it's okay, I also do sometimes, I really gets excited thinking what things can make strongest person on earth scared. He says it's okay son, and hugs him, next morning Homelander says he has to go somewhere he will be back in few hours, Ryan keeps his act and tell me bye. Homelander flies away as soon as he flies away Ryan tries to find some thing to connect to Butcher and others, he finds nothing and at last he gets an idea to go himself to Butcher and tell his location but thinks this is very risky, he abondons the plans and went towards his room to think about something else but he notices the same room which he has yesterday night he goes inside the room and sees blood stain all over the sofa and realises that Homelander is already ended his sanity so he just rushes to the ground floor and went to soldier boys chamber and looks at him for few seconds then he pressed the button unfreezing soldier boy and grabs his body and flies away to the butcher location, Homelander comes back his whole body covered in blood, comes inside house and calls out for Ryan but didn't get an answer he went to the kitchen and grabs a milk bottle from the fridge and starts drinking, while drinking he crosses chamber room his side eye catches glimpse of the chamber and he went back and sees the open chamber the bottle drops from his hand and flies upwards braking the above floor he goes to Ryan's room and sees him missing too, and gets very angry and the episode ends with him illuminating his eyes.....

Guys if you want I can write episode 7 and 8 too🙂

Next Series

Now that the boys has ended although we will be getting some spin offs it’s safe to assume amazon will go for another comic book to tv series adaptation. With that being said what comic book do you guys think is up next or deserves to be turned into an animation or live action show?

Anyone know why the handmaiden shows up as being in 4k hdr, but only plays back in 1080?

I know there is a purchase option for 4k, but the streaming version should be in 4k and I remember watching it in 4k back in the day. Anyone know what’s up?

Looking for shows and movie recommendations

I got a prime video free trial to binge the final season of the boys and now I have 6 days left to get the most of it before I cancel. Any recommendations for movies and shows? They dont have to be Prime Originals, just whatever that is good and available on the service. For the record Im already aware of Invincible, Fleabag and Fallout

I actually liked the the Boys finale

I found it funny, liked the more emotional parts about Frenchie and finally seeing Homelander weak and powerless was really satisfactory after seeing him for 5 seasons straight. The fight was also cool though it could have been longer. The ending was somewhat cheesy but i too got somewhat emotional seeing all the creators of the Show who spend the last 5 years of their lives creating this top 10 of all time Show. I really dont know why all of you hate it so much.

The boys finale was good … kinda

As an avid enjoyer in this tv show , I actually was looking forward to the end and final conclusion . As they have promised since season 3 the epic finale battle between butcher and homelander ; “SCORCHED EARTH”. The finale was able to finish all the plot lines and give a satisfying ending but one thing that’s making me say it’s kind of good is that , the POSTERS ARE SO MISLEADING LIKE HOLY. You can’t make this up almost none of the stuff you see in the posters actually happen you could sue for false advertising . Like the earth in the photo attached to this , this doesn’t happen once in the final season . Overall

Very overwhelming but still a good finale , 8/10

HERE ARE *10* READY TO BINGE REC'S INSPIRED BY THE BOYS...

*10* TV BINGE REC'S IF YOU JUST FINISHED THE BOYS AND WANT SOMETHING GOOD/SIMILAR:
- Each show has a description and why The Boys is the inspiration to suggest it

*I KNOW ITS LONG SO TO MAKE IT EASIER:*
-Ill just put the names and u can scroll below the line and just see if u missed any
-Heres THREE quick obv comps:
a.)Peacemaker aka a lighter tone than The Boys but still r rated bloody 'bad supes' show w 2seasons

b.)Invincible, another Prime Original, darker anime version of 'bad supes' with 4 seasons

c.)Banshee - NOT superhero BUT stars Antony Starr, as an expert thief on parole who, due to an insane event that hooks you about 5mins into the pilot, he impersonated the sheriff of a small local town in rural PA - its a brutal fast paced crime drama that has 4 great seasons (from Starz around 2012-6ish i think)

Also to save time, u'll prob have the same taste/dig these if u liked stuff outside The Boys like: Severance, Pluribus, The Leftovers, Maniac, 3 Body Problem etc

-------------------------------------------TV BINGE REC's and why The Boys inspired them-----------------------------------

EDIT: Forgot one of two shows listed thats tech comic book based but actually has the energy of insane blood soaked absurdity and wordbuilding of The Boys and thats the 4S FX Series Preacher - prob shoulda mentioned American Gods too, not the best of the recs, but a shockingly good adaptation of my fav book ever written

1.) Mr.Robot - My personal all time fav show (at least till/how Severance ends) is Mr.Robot (the 'hacker' show thats not really about the hacking at all lol) largely due to not just Rami Maleks career launching performance but the fact its adapted from an OG screenplay by Esmail whom obv knows all the plotpoints, twists,, ending so there are so many easter eggs upon rewatching and the payoffs are so well earned, w a manic protagonist addicted, mentall ill, tryna hack world banks and breaking the 4th wall to talk to 'friend' (us) it's absurd in its own never done-this-well, way.

2.) DOOM PATROL - the only other good 'bad super hero show' imo, that still funny/live action, Umbrella academy a lil formulaic but DP is stacked cast-wise and has a LOT of absurd madness tho not as dark as the boys but def not bad with a full 5season run ending last yr - if u prefer the humor and gore obv the next best option is watching s1 and 2 of Peacemaker w John Cena playing 'Homelander if he was actually patriotic and capable of empathy but also way less cunning haha - also not as ubiquitously dominant among the super powered in his universe

3.) Legion - if u missed it, Legion is the ULTIMATE superhero show that doesnt feel like its about superheroes (as in i thought it was just a crazy horror psychological thriller till lookin into it more but as a non comic person i watched it no prob but its def a PAY ATTENTION show) like in the trailer u see that they tell the protagonist he's mentally ill not super powered and drugged to keep it from happening, lots of gaslighting but the sets/colors are Severence-esque but trippier w insane terrifying dream sequences and character designs...its 3 PERFECT seasons starring the talented af Dan Stevens(btw he's KILLING it in the long awaited new season of The Terror this time set in present day based on the novel 'the devil in silver') and Aubrey Plaza, FRIGGIN and Jehmaine Clement oh and JEAN SMART! - unmissable.

4.)Happy! - THIS HAS THE BOYS ENERGY MORE THAN ANY OTHER SHOW I KNOW... from SyFy of all channels, sadly only 2 seasons (ten 40min eps each) but follows the AMAZING Chris Meloni as an UNHINGED drug, sex and violence fueled divorced dad ex detective turned hitman/deadbeat dad who's daughter is kidnapped by a creepy af santa themed killer (s2 is based around a villain based on easter/a creepy af kids tv show being used for dark purposes u dont wanna think about)- absurd to the extreme, Patton Oswalt voices the happy go lucky imaginary friend of his kidnapped daughter (named 'happy the unicorn' who helps him find his kid while getting tangled in his life and trying coke, helping him cheat during poker etc but the violence is WILD and the uncanny valley creeepiness of the villains in both seasons is perfectly balanced creepy/funny/teriffying and the practical fx are *chef kiss

Just an ex: They cold-open S2 (not a spoiler, the first 30sec unrelated to s1) with 12 nuns in bomb vests huddled and crying in new york before starting an easter egg hunt in central park to find the winning egg that has the switch that makes every other nun blow up but the one pushing it, so flying nun limbs def has The Boys vibes haha

5.)Homecoming - Another Esmail show, his first after Mr.Robot, about a mysterious berry that is used in some drug being made by the gov to 'help soldiers w ptsd' but is very surreal and without spoiling its clear from the trailer that homeoming's project is way bigger/darker than 'helping soldiers' as the goal...got great reviews AND s1 is Julia Roberts TV debut but the Apple show 'Homecoming' was Esmails first show after Mr.Robot (he also did the movie, i loved at least, "leave the world behind' too) but its just two seasons with diff casts but in the same world that connects to s1 (s2 stars Janelle Monet and no Roberts but other actors are in s1 like Jeremy Allen White (Shameless/The Bear) - tbh just more of a good show than something like The Boys but if u like the shows up top you'll dig it...

HOPE IT WAS WORTH THE TIME!

IMDB or Rotton Tomatoes etc. Do you pay attention to their ratings?

If I see a movie that's less than 5.5, I don't bother watching it. Having said that, I've watch many movies at 6+ that I couldn't get through. Am I too picky or is their ratings systems f'd?

Just wondering.

Rent option in Prime Videos

Isnt it irritating that the Prime video expects us to pay for certain (almost all of the good stuff) series/videos over and above the subscription fees. I mean if you want more money, just increase the prime charges. I mean how much more money does Bezos require?

What a let down (The Boys Finale)

Can’t believe THIS is what they released in theaters. It felt rushed exactly like everyone expected, and overall it just fell flat. They spent the whole season building up “Scorched Earth”, only for the final fight to last like two minutes in the White House.

Don’t get me wrong, the acting was phenomenal. Antony Starr and Karl Urban absolutely carried, and none of the blame goes to the cast. But this just wasn’t the ending this story deserved.

Thanks, Kripke.

What even was the point of V1 in The Boys?

The biggest issue I have with V1 is that the entire final season revolves around it, yet in the end, it barely matters at all.

For almost the whole season, the Boys are desperately trying to stop Homelander from getting V1. It’s treated like this terrifying game-changing thing that could make him unstoppable. The plot constantly builds tension around the idea that if Homelander gets V1, everything is over.

Then, after six episodes of stalling, side plots, and wandering around, Homelander finally gets it supposedly because “it’s what Clara would have wanted.” This should have been the turning point of the season just like many other parts in the past.. but no.. nothing happens. Nothing ever happens.

For one episode, the show tries to create a pseudo-Soldier Boy situation where they can neutralize Homelander’s V1 powers using Kimiko. Frenchie dies in the process, and we briefly see hints of V1 doing something, but overall it feels incredibly underwhelming. By the finale, V1 barely affects the fight at all.

omelander doesn’t feel significantly stronger AT ALL In fact, he feels almost equal to Butcher and Kimiko despite them not even having V1 themselves. The supposed allpowerful immortal syringe did batshit after all.

And then, within minutes of the final battle, Homelander loses those powers anyway, making the entire V1 storyline feel pointless in retrospect.

The frustrating part is that the show never properly explains why V1 seemed so ineffective. There are possible explanations the audience can come up with:

Maybe V1 only works properly if someone has had it since birth. Maybe Homelander already having Compound V caused some kind of backlash.

But none of this is actually addressed in the story. The audience is left to speculate because the show never commits to an explanation.

So the end result is that the season spends enormous time building up V1 as the ultimate threat, only for it to barely matter in the finale before being removed almost immediately. Instead of feeling like the climax of the entire series, it ends up feeling like a massive setup with no payoff.

Thoughts on The Boys Finale

Thoughts On The Boys Finale

So I just finished the boys finale and if I say how it was in one word so it will be an average finale

I mean what happed in this episode it's OK but it could have been more serious and epic in my opinion Homelander should have been left alive without his powers as a normal human being which he hated the most this would have been more satisfied and poetic

And about deep his death was good but after everything that he have done throughout the show I want his death to be more humiliated

And about the gand from Gen V why the hell you brought them in this show why did you setup a team up when you were never planning to use them I mean this is bad writing the first you gave them the powers which are so good and they literally can bring people back from death and they are way powerfull than the boys so and if they would have come to Action they would have easily over power the boys and it wouldn't look good so I'm saying give the powers to the characters wisely this happens every time when some get the awesome powers

Overall this whole season never felt like a final season and we got 2 filler episodes back to back in the finale season which I can't wrap my head around how this happed

If I were to rank all the season it would be 1,2,4,5,3

What do you guys think?

The Boys...Easily the worst final season and finale I've ever seen in my 34 years of existence.

All the writers had to do for Season 5 and the finale was make Homelander a full-blown genocidal tyrant who unleashes hell on humanity, forcing every major supe including Marie Moreau, Soldier Boy, and the rest to unite against him for one massive final showdown.

Super simple.
