Full set of Artemis II photos for wallpaper or screensaver

I wanted to see all of the Artemis II photos (10,000+) rotate through on my Android TV, so after scraping the static high-res image urls from Nasa.gov, I've generated a wallpaper .json file for use with Projectivy, and a .csv file for use with Aerial Views. Pick whichever option you'd like, host the relevant file somewhere, and follow the instructions below. No image download required!

Is my decision is fair on Lumio vision 7?

Confused between Lumio 7 and LG UHD AI 8200 – need suggestions.

I was initially considering TCL, but after watching a detailed Decode video

https://youtu.be/bLZIPoEILzE?si=2fiMMcK5sNa42bXO I found the material quality shown there looked quite different from what been marketed. Also, there doesn’t seem to be a proper OLED panel, so I dropped the idea.

Now I’m confused between the Lumio 7 (around 35k) and the LG UHD AI 8200(45k+3k magic remote). Lumio looks interesting, but since it’s a newer brand and doesn’t offer an extended warranty, I’m not sure if it’s worth taking the risk.

For people who have used either of these TVs:

- How is the picture quality and panel quality?

- Any issues with durability or after-sales service?

Is Lumio reliable enough to consider over LG? Would invest 10k more and sit in peace or should I go for Lumio

Cheap Google & Sony

I've enjoyed my big screen Sony tvs that run Android TV OS. But I cannot stand the fact that Google is too cheap to pay for a Dolby Atmos license. So the movies you buy from Google lack Dolby Atmos. I switched over to buying my movies using the Apple TV app on my Sony television.

However, I learned that if I use the Movies Anywhere app on my Sony tv. The app will merge my Apple and Google movie libraries. The Google movies will play using Dolby Atmos where applicable.

Which box to buy for ~£80, preferably on Amazon?

Hello android viewers, I am looking for guidance on which box to buy. I have a £100 MasterCard voucher from switching my ISP and I want to spend it on an android TV box and a hdmi splitter. I need to get it on Amazon or somewhere else with a 4in1out hdmi splitter for fairly cheap as the gift card must be used on a single purchase. I have been looking at this sub and other places online and I cannot make a decision and would appreciate some help. I keep seeing the Xiaomi box recommended but the price seems very inflated on Amazon vs Ali so I'm not sure.

I am intending to use it mainly for Stremio and SmartTube but would like to be able to use Moonlight and potentially put retroarch on there for some light emulation. If it could run Ship of Harkinian/2S2H that would be an incredible bonus. However the gaming is a lower priority. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be very appreciated.

Looking for a powerfull TV box - 4k ambilight

I just purchased a new TV (TCL 65C7K), it's great and look beautiful !
My old TV was only 1080p, so I had no issue doing both playback and screen capture at the same time.

But now, in 4k, the playback is at like 5fps when the screen capture is on. I need the screen capture for my DIY ambilight system. The app I am using is the hyperion-android-grabber, but I have tried others and all have the same issue.
The problem is that the SOC of the TV is not powerful enough for both playback and recording at the same time.

I have seen online a lot of people recommending the Nvidia Shield, but I just bought a brand new TV, so the shield is a bit out of my price range.

What TV box would you recommend that could handle 4k and be under 150 euros ? (if that even exists)

Also, i live in Europe if that narrow things down.

I was wrong

Few months back I posted on Google TV praising how great the Google 4K streamer was. I'd mentioned I sold my shield and was very happy with the new streamer. I wanted to try something new. Well I was way off.

At the end of my experience with the Google streamer it was disconnecting from Bluetooth at least five times a day and it was noticeably laggier.

I have now repurchase the Shield Pro and everything seems to be back to normal in this crazy world.

YouTube Issues?

Hi all,

Not sure what happened but anytime I try to open YouTube, it does not load. It only goes to a grey screen (typically before everything else loads). Does anyone else have this issue? I tried clearing the cache, limit background processes, etc. This is the only app that gives me an issue.

Turn smart tv dumb?

I'm trying to set up a tv for a 90 year old man who gets easily confused.

He has an LG tv and I've made it as simple as possible, but I want to make it even simpler so he can't get confused.

What I ideally would like is:

- a stick that goes into the back, so he can't see it (a visible box is confusing for him),

- one remote to control everything,

- boots automatically,

- live tv only (no apps, no streaming services, or anything)

- no way to boot into native os or change source (e.g. hdmi 2).

Is such a thing possible?

Does the Google TV Streamer 4K perform better than a Philips Android TV?

I’ve been using a Philips Android TV for a while and the UI feels pretty sluggish, especially when opening apps or navigating menus. I’m thinking about getting the Google TV Streamer 4K instead.

For people who tried both:

  • Is the Google streamer noticeably faster and smoother?

TV: Philips 65OLED807

Update: The decision has been made, I’m buying the Google TV Streamer 4K, thanks guys.

Affordable Android box for sideloading browsers (Brave, Edge, Firefox) and Morphe Youtube

I'm planning to buy a budget Android box. The first TV box I found is the Onn 4K Plus, but after looking through reviews, I found that it is region-locked and requires bypassing. I prefer something that works out of the box where I can just install apps right away, or is bypassing worth the hassle instead of settling for the Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen? Can the Xiaomi TV Box sideload out of the box?

I'm building "AirTune": A Native-like Apple Music Experience for Android TV (Looking for testers!)

[UPDATE] Google removed the app due to naming policy violations. I've relaunched under a new name — links above have been updated. If you're a previous tester, you're already in the Google Group — just opt-in to the new testing program and download.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on AirTune, a dedicated Apple Music client and AirPlay receiver built from the ground up for Android TV to provide a much smoother, native experience compared to existing solutions.

The app is currently in Closed Beta on the Google Play Store. To make it publicly available, Google requires a certain number of active testers, and I would love your help!

If you'd like to test the app and help me improve it, here is how you can join:

How to join the Closed Beta (Important Steps):

  1. First, join this Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/airtune-testers/ (You must join this group first with your Google Play email, otherwise the next link won't work.)
  2. Opt-in to the Testing Program: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.adg.airtunemusic
  3. Download the app: Once you opt-in, you can download it directly from the Play Store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adg.airtunemusic

I’m looking forward to your feedback to make this the best Apple Music experience on the big screen. Let me know what you think or if you run into any bugs!

Android TV Launchers that Don't Drop Externally Installed App Shortcuts/Pins after Reboot

I have been using https://github.com/osrosal/flauncher for awhile and really like it. However I have started to install some apps to external storage and discovered shortcuts pinned to the home screen will be lost on reboot, as noted in https://github.com/osrosal/flauncher/issues/50 . Even reloading flauncher after the external mount is loaded won't bring them back.

Anyone know of any any android tv launchers that will specifically maintain external app shortcuts/pins to the home screen through reboot?

Stbemu on Google TV no longer working

Hi, I've been using stbemu (free) to watch my iptv content but yesterday it stopped working. The app loads, then the screen is all distorted and then crashes. You can't do anything in it. My iptv provider told me that technically their service should be used with a box, and not software like stbemu. It is NOT a stalker portal. He also said it may work with a Fire stick. Or a box. What are my options here? I'm willing to buy a fire stick and try it out but if anyone has successfully loaded a non stalker iptv service on a Google TV (android) id love to know. Cheers

Should I purchase a streaming device and which one?

I know this isn't the most unique question to ask here but I'm completely stumped. I looked and nobody was asking the questions that are important to me but it may be because I'm from Europe wirh much more limited streaming sites.

I bought an LG TV recently, I love it but it has very limited options, you have your basic stuff, Netflix, HBO, Prime and Disney and that's about it. The app store is ridiculous, there is nothing in there. I download Stremio but that was just as bad when I looked for things I wanted to watch. I can get the Tubi app but it is out of my region so it is also useless.

I mostly used my pc for streaming before getting a smart TV, which might be why my expectations are so big. I can't cast with chromecast from my pc because it has ethernet the tv only has wifi access. Also if I try to cast from my phone and it is not from an app already on the tv it won't work. I tried to watch an anime from a site and it wouldn't not load on the tv with cast.

I wanted to be able to have a VPN on while I browse my apps and also to use Chrome instead of the LG WebOS. I'm more familiar with the Chrome setup. I want more variety, and I want to be able to access my *other🌊⛵* sites, mostly for anime as Crunchyroll sucks major ass.

Are these things possible with a streaming stick or a box? If yes which one would you recommend? If not what options do I have?
