Apple One price increase…again

This is a rant. I just received an email that my apple one subscription is increasing from $25.95 to $27.95 a month. This is the 3rd time this has increased. In the grand scheme of things l know its only $2, but dang l spend over $1200 on the phone and then apple care and now l feel nickel and dimed every time l turn around. For a trillion dollar company and being a loyal apple fan and l wrong to feel this way?

current ecosystem

loving this setup - iPhone 13 pro, Series 9 gps, AirPods Pro Gen 1, TouchID Macbook Neo. talk me out of iPad!

if I didn’t have a decent Windows desktop build, I’d look at nothing other than Mac Mini. my wife just bought a cheap Roku, or I’d have an Apple TV. the walled garden really does feel great.

iPhone 17 getting hot while charging even with light usage — anyone else?

I’m using an iPhone 17 and I keep getting the “Charging On Hold” message saying that charging will resume once the iPhone returns to a normal temperature.

What I don’t understand is that I’m barely doing anything heavy on the phone. Sometimes I’ll randomly play songs on Spotify while it’s charging, maybe use Instagram a little, and just leave the phone on my bed. Still, it gets warm enough that charging gets paused because of the temperature.

Is simply keeping the phone on the bed while charging enough to trap that much heat? Or is this unusual for an iPhone 17?

Has anyone else experienced this with normal/light usage while charging?

AppleCare One and Going Caseless

Here is my Apple ecosystem loadout (excluding products like the Studio Display). I have three products included in my AppleCare One plan but am considering adding my Apple Watch Ultra 2. Unfortunately, my AirPods Max are not eligible.

Is it worth adding the Apple Watch Ultra 2 for an additional £4.99?

Would you also avoid using a case on your iPhone or screen protector on your watch if it’s produced by this plan?

Nahulog na sa eco-system and IT IS WORTH IT!

Seamless connection at its finest!

•17 pro max 256
•17 pro 1TB
•MBA M4 24|512
•AW 11
•APP 3
•Magic mouse

First time sa eco-system, app optimization, pati password organizer na hindi mo na kailangan mag isip ng password, auto generate ng mahirap na password na no need imemorize tas auto save. Everytime ka mag log in, face id na lang bawat username, email, at password ng kada app or site. Dahil first time, nakakabano. Hindi ko pa nasubukan yung samsung eco-system pero natry ko na yung redmi k40 pro+ CN rom, redmi watch 3 at redmi earbuds 4 pro. Hindi sya seamless.

Overall sulit.

Should i buy an iphone if i have a macbook?

Here is the thing I own a macbook and I have a google pixel 6a which I have been using for the past 4 years ..Now I am planning to buy a new phone and I have heard a lot about the apple ecosystem.I was not a big fan of Iphone so I have not looked much into that side of the phone category.Keep in mind I am not much of a phone guy so I dont want to spend too much on phones and that is why I looked up Iphone 15 which is roughly available for 50 something.....So what do you guys suggest do I need to buy an Iphone just for the ecosystem if I am not a phone guy and If i am planning to buy one is Iphone 15 enough or is it outdated for 2026

Finally completed my ecosystem, what are your thoughts?

Yesterday i got my first iPad, and after 10 years with apple’s hardware, my ecosystem is finally completed and its perfect, 16” Macbook Pro M1 Max (32 core) 32GB/1TB, iPad Pro 12.9” M2, iPhone 13 mini, apple watch 7 steel, airpods 3 and pencil 2, do you think its better to buy older devices but pro-line, or it would be better to buy the newest but education-line like the 10th iPad, macbook neo/air?

Why doesn’t my iPhone Screen Time total match the individual app usage?

Yesterday, my iPhone showed 8h 51m of total Screen Time. However, when I manually added up every app and website listed under Apps & Websites (including entries shown in seconds), the total came to only 7h 48m 56s.
That’s a difference of 1h 02m 04s.

The list is complete, and Share Across Devices is turned off, so the time shouldn’t be coming from another Apple device.

Screen Time total: 8h 51m
Sum of all apps/websites: 7h 48m 56s
Difference: 1h 02m 04s

Does anyone know why Screen Time would show a higher total than the combined usage of every app/website? Is there something else iOS counts toward Screen Time that doesn’t appear in the individual usage list?

finally have my small apple ecosystem for artwork, just bought the 17 pro max

I just got my very first Apple ecosystem — mainly for my artwork — and finally got the 17 Pro Max! 🥹
I really wanted the Deep Blue, but it was out of stock, so I went with another color instead.
I also got a refurbished M2 13-inch iPad Air and an iPad mini 6 both with cellular for travel. 🍎✨Will be upgrading again when its all unusable.

I turned a spare iPad into a dedicated Apple Home dashboard

Apologies for my sketchy video, still working on it.

TL;DR:

Always-on-Display + wake on approach based on nearby body sensors.
Lighting/climate/shades control with simple tap/slide/long press gestures
Minimalistic design
Free version comes with basic controls for one room, pro available as one purchase w/o subscriptions.

App Store Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hearth-home/id6757917280

iPad only at the moment. iPhone support coming soon.

The story:

I planted a wall-mount magnet panel for iPad during renovation but didn’t think it through. For a long time I’ve been using it with Apple Home + Guided access.

This means the screen is always on with the Apple Home interface which is a waste of the screen. It’s also painful when I try to adjust the brightness of the area (I don’t like scenes)

So I got the idea from the physical dimmer controller and some modern in-wall smart home screens that turn themselves into clocks when idle. Since iPad does not give developers distance sensor access, I managed to utilize nearby HomeKit presence sensors to control the screensaver. In the video the sensor I used was the one inside the aqara v1 switch.

It’s an early version but I’ve been using it for weeks and thought it’s good enough for others to try. If you have the exact same problems as I did I think you’ll love it. Please try it out and let me know if it helps!

The reason why I don’t play with Home Assistant: i actually use Home Assistant for a lot of automations but thanks to Aqara 🙄 there are some dimmers I can’t get into HA stably. Plus I have a bunch of non HomeKit gadgets like Xiaomi BLE devices. Apple Home ended up being the platform with the most complete devices’ support.

This + my HomePod on the ceiling is my final setup for my smart home interface. I might have just built the rumoured Apple wall-mount display🫪.

BTW: I sent the text above to ChatGPT and it gave me 7/10, saying it was too long, too much noise and too many technical details. Well, it’s a discussion and I truly want to share my ideas behind this app so I’m posting it as is.

iPad 11 users, are you facing battery drain?

I recently noticed my iPad 11 battery seems to drop pretty quickly, even with normal use. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a software issue or just normal battery behavior?

My mostly space grey ecosystem

I’m extremely proud of this cause it’s something I’ve wanted since I was young so very happy I could get all pro devices as well. Don’t see myself buying anything but a pro in future 😭

Also Too lazy to bring in my HomePods. I always felt like Apple accessories like the Magic Mouse and Apple Pencil should be white but that’s probably my ocd 😭
