I suck ass at NEST online mode

Title says it all. I dont really struggle with missions, but as soon as I boot up NEST I get fucked hard. I've done probably 10 or more ranked matches, and I havnt won a single one. Im not even one to get mad at games and this shit's pissing me off. No clue what I could do better, Ive been experimenting with different loadouts like dual pulse weapons, zimmermans + HML-G2's, etc. Havnt found anything that works and doesnt make me lose immediately. Best I ever did in a match was get one kill, while they got the other two.
Dont really know what else to say, I just suck ass and its probably a skill issue. Any advice?

What is the point of heavier missile launchers?

Talking, for example, about BML-G2 P05MLT-10 - the 10-cell direct missile launcher. Compared to a simple, light, starting 4-cell one - it has about the same dps; applies much less pressure, allowing to regen all the impact during downtime; has an impractically-long lock-on time; and, after all, weights much heavier! What are its advantages then?

Tetrapod Followup

I'm sure most people won't care, but I wanted to make a follow-up to my post from before asking for advice for the BAWS Tetrapod, https://www.reddit.com/r/armoredcore/s/BxURrFrM2g.

It honestly helped alot, and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me tips. Especially u/Bigredstapler, and u/cB557.

"Bad Joke" by me

drew this after that liberator of rubicon ending wrecked me. named it after the fight's actual theme song lol ("rough and decent (bad joke)") bc it felt too perfect not to.

kinda wanted to go for that twins at the carousel meme but as a still frame instead of animated, since idk how to animate lol

still bad at rendering/shading ngl, half the face is still just lineart bc i wasn't confident enough to commit to shading it yet 💀 go easy on me, still learning.

Lore accurate(?) Cinder Carla

made an attempt at drawing "Cinder" Carla based off the sketches from the STV log. tried to give her that RaD mad scientist energy, also gave her the "i will explain your death via powerpoint" glasses because i felt like that fit.

lineart only for now, colors maybe later if i dont lose motivation like every other wip. roast the anatomy if you must, i can take it.

Is dodging the same as kiteing?

Is dodging shots up close in pvp with dodges and pure speed to stay in melee range considered kiteing?

Builds included for context

How would I improve this build?

I am pretty new to the game and am currently stuck on Balteus. I would greatly appreciate some help.

Brand new player, I literally laughed with amusement at how cool this is!

Like a lot of people, I love FromSoft but I am burned out on Dark Souls and Elden Ring (probably my favorite game of all time). I tried DS1 but I just wasn't having fun after 10 hours or so, DS2 is a mess and I didn't feel like playing Bloodbourne.

I've heard of Armored Core, never played it. My only mech games are from way back in the day (Mech Warrior on PC etc), more strategy games than action focused mech action.

The reviews are great for this game, I was a little worried about the difficulty but I watched the videos on PS5 and it looked so goddam cool I just had to play.

Right when I jumped into the mech and learned the basics, I felt like a kid again, I'm literally making zooming noises in my head 'neeerrroooowww, pew pew pew', everything is so goddam smooth! I thought all these weapons and actions would be confusing compared to Souls combat, but it is actually pretty intuitive. Just use all your strong weapons and use your blaster while your sword/missiles recharge and stay off the ground, not too complicated.

I managed to beat the first boss on my second try, which felt good. I think I would have had him on my first try but I used up all my missiles already...well, because it was fun to shoot missiles and I had no idea there was a limited amount.

I can see some similarities in Souls design, stick close to the boss, trying to build distance is only going to get you killed, get right up in their face (or even under their face) and never leave. That is Souls 101 stuff.

Really love the world and world building, ultra curious to see where the story goes. I already spent a good 20 minutes changing up the colors of my mech. I'm sure things only get harder from here, but I feel like I am off to a decent enough start where I just may be able to do ok.

Edit: UNCE UNCE UNCE EDM PARTY MUSIC fist pump yeah yeah!!!! It took me 8 tries but I beat Ballatro! I only died a few times up to this point, felt I was doing pretty well then this dirty dog came out of nowhere. What's funny is I didn't get frustrated like I do with some Souls bosses, the idea of being able to change your load out and strategy makes any challenge in this game like a fun puzzle.

Thank the f'ing Mech Lords that I had that grenade launcher, I don't think I could have done it without it. I just kept my distance from his melee attacks, didn't panic boost away from rockets until they were close, then I would just pound him with missiles and a powerful laser cannon and wait until he stopped and then unloaded a grenade right in his face. Near the end of the fight the laser and rockets stunned him and I got to crit grenade launch him right up his cylindrical asshole, sending his filthy hula hoop using ass to hell. I do kinda feel bad for casual gamers though, I could easily see getting stuck on this guy forever and not being able to play the game you paid 60 bucks for. Would be nice if they had some sort of summon helper system like other Souls games.

I am having an absolute blast at this point. I usually suck at games starting out, but I feel like this is actually clicking for me more than a lot of people I have seen speak about their new player experience, feels good! I do feel bad for the Test Mech pilot tho, I think I've gone back and killed him at least 25 times to farm for cash, crushing his dreams every time.

RIP ROGUE I: My first attempt at a roguelike challenge

First of all, I bought this on Steam because it was half-off and I loved AC2 when I was young. Let me just say WOW! This game is awesome!

I have only finished 2 playthroughs so far, but I stumbled upon the roguelike challenge playthrough and decided to try it out before I head into NG++. I knew it was gonna be tough. I knew my AC probably wouldn't make it through the first chapter, but she did me well.

I was at the last mission of chapter one... I fumbled right from the start. As you can see, this is not a fast AC. I got rocked by the laser turrets in sector one. I only had one repair kit left for Sulla. It was down to the wire. I had 500AP, and I'm sure Sulla had less, but my boosters ran out of power and I fell right into Sulla's shots.

Mission Failed. Game over... but Sulla died with me. We killed each other at almost the exact same time. I must've run out of AP a millisecond before my adversary...

ROGUE I, you will be remembered... and ROGUE II will surely avenge you.

RIP
