I know this community loves the 245/35r20 CONTINENTAL ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus for our Arteon… However, I’ve upgrade mine to 245/40r20…
So I wanted to check with the fam here if anyone is interested and want these.. I’m in Canada

Black. Phev. What do you think?
My 18yr old Polo with 140k miles has finally come to the end of it's life - I'm looking to upgrade to something nicer, I also have a first baby on the way so the Arteon seems to be the perfect blend of boot capacity, safety, MPG and elegance.
However with my budget (max £12k) from what I can see I'm looking at a 2.0l 2018 with around 80k miles.
Question is it crazy to buy an older model? I'll likely keep for around 5yrs or so. I'll likely do around 7.5k miles a year 80% city driving and 20% longer.
Anyone have any experience replacing the bumper or any parts of it? Found my car like this after leaving the grocery store. I was hoping part of the bumper could be replaced rather than the entire thing.
Im looking into getting a 2019 arteon r and have some concerns regarding the weather around here as it tends to wear down certain parts more, especially on euros.
Was just wondering if there are any owners around the area or in places with similar weather/road conditions that could warn me of some issues or point me towards some qol mods.
I would also appreciate any other information or warnings that arent commonly found.
I was hoping on making it a daily but i do have other vehicles for that if its not a good idea.
Any pointers on common issues or certain parts that need more maintenance, attention would be very much appreciated, thanks.
I keep it in comfort mode, but it seem to keep resetting to normal despite saying it’s still in comfort. When I get back in, it feels rougher than when I left it and softens up when I re-select comfort.
I just got a 2020 Arteon 2.0T with pretty low miles.
I dont drive aggressive but despite that im only avaraging 16mpg. Is this ballpark what everyone else is getting?
Hi all,
So, back in November of 2025 I picked up a used 2019 VW Arteon R-Line.
Love the car but I noticed that the start/stop was very sporadic in terms of working.
Fast forward to yesterday and all of a sudden it's showing Start/Stop error. Then maybe a few minutes after that, the check engine light came on and the codes read as:
P0118 - Engine coolant temperature sensor 1 circuit high.
I've been researching as best I can, and the two most common issues appear to be the battery (which I don't think is the case here) and that ETC sensor is like bad.
I decided to YOLO it and purchased the sensor from partsgeek, but after looking at a bunch of posts and videos that aren't 100% the arteon engine, I'm still not sure where to find this and how to get to it without screwing anything up.
Is this a process that someone without a ton of experience could pull off?
Does anyone have any good advice/instructions/images/ or anything they could share to assist in locating this sensor?
I'll take any advice! Google is confusing me more and more LOL
Thanks everyone!!
Hello everyone, I am a fresh owner of an Arteon SB and I only received the 18 inch wheels and now want to upgrade to 20 inch. I found original Rosario design wheels but I don’t know whether I should buy the silver or black ones what do you think, which would look better?
Got chatting with a coworker in the parking lot yesterday about my 2020 Arteon R-Line (2.0 TSI) and he was shocked I’m still running it stock. Now I can’t stop thinking about getting a bit more punch without nuking reliability or MPG.
I’ve been reading up on piggyback/chip modules instead of a full flash tune, mainly because I like the idea of being able to unplug it before dealer visits and keep factory stuff “safe”. I landed on a few sites, www.gantuning.com popped up while I was doomscrolling at like 1am, plus a couple of other similar ones that claim more power and slightly better fuel use, app control, etc.
I might be missing something here, but it almost sounds too good to be true compared to a proper ECU tune.
Anyone here actually running a plug-and-play tuning box on their Arteon long term? How’s the throttle response, any weirdness with DSG, check engine lights, warranty drama, or real-world MPG changes? And if you tried one and went back to stock or a flash tune, why?
I know there is a few of you guys who have swapped manuals in the arteon I’m putting an arteon engine in a golf r manual and was just trying to figure out the whole pilot bearing situation. Any feedback would be appreciated
Yellow SOS call warning light on dashboard after changing the battery. It won't go off now... Has anyone experienced this? Thanks
So I think I’ve officially joined the club of Arteon owners who’ve had wheel issues after potholes…😭
About 2 weeks ago I hit a pretty nasty pothole and ever since then I’ve been dealing with vibrations at highway speeds. Took my car to a trusted shop and they confirmed all 4 of my wheels are bent.
I’m now looking for solid replacement wheel recommendations. Factory specs are 5x112, 19x9, +35 offset.
I’d really prefer to avoid ending up in the same situation again, so I’m looking for something a bit more durable/stronger than OEM if possible.
If anyone has good setups they’ve run or recommendations that have held up well, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance! 🙏🏻
Not really interested in black. But machined like stock is fine. What sizes did you go with for more sidewall protection?
The front, the back, even in profile it just keeps your eyes glued to it. Im not even sure what aspect of it is so alluring but it just seems so....well thought out.
FYI the Arteon and apparently all newer Volkswagens have soy based insulation that rodents love
One day I got in my car, turned it on, and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree - the power steering was out along with everything else. Had it towed to Volkswagen and they shrugged it off like I should have known it was rodent damage..
I had never heard of the issue before, and everyone I talk to either knows all about it or has never heard of it, but if you google it you can get all the details. Apparently a bunch of the wiring comes from Chinese companies that use cheap subsidized American soy to make the insulation, and rodents love the taste. There are class action lawsuits against some automakers but I don't think they're going to go anywhere.
Had to put in a comprehensive claim, almost 8K of repairs so far and I still don't have the car back yet...
Anyways, check under your hood, consider getting some peppermint or pepper spray, there are a bunch of home remedies, not sure what works and what doesn't, but again just read about it, it can happen quick
