My wife wants to plant a garden
We want to plant a garden, but we don’t know how far out we can go from the house. I have our property map, but it’s confusing. I’m pretty sure where 15.0’ is listed is the distance of the entire line segment and not from the edge of the house to the property line. That measurement, as presented, doesn’t seem particular useful to me, but this is the map I was presented when we bought the house. Any help would be appreciated.
Old equipment question
My dad was a land surveyor for many many years both for the state DOT but then had his own side business for farmers etc. He's been retired for a long time now (15 years? Idk for sure) and has all his old equipment in the garage. I've been encouraging my parents to get rid of it but have had no luck. Could anything still be used? Who could it go to? Who could I reach out to to ask? I was hoping if I had a plan in place maybe I could convince them....but I also have no clue what the things are or what they do, and what things are probably so outdated.
Is this a property line?
My 86 yr old father believes the area in red is his property based on the line extending from his property. I had posted this picture before but it wasn’t as clear as this. Some people mentioned this was just a tie line. I assumed the property in red was the neighbors but there is a metal rod that sticks out about where this would show the line. What do you think?
How do you compare and choose a BC Land Surveyor to determine property lines and a plan to show location of fence, building and other structures etc please?
quotes seem to vary from one firm to the next so how do you determine who may have the most accurate service and best value?
what may i request myself from Land Title Surveyors Association Office to save money?
what questions should one ask survey vendors To select the best fit if they are all part of the same association please:
- is it number of staff in the field?
- latest tech being used?
- is it time and materials based?
- if they are all part of BC Land Surveyor
what should you do to prep for a survey ie clear shrubs for line of sight and put neighbours on notice? what else?
