And it has those little spikes on the cross this time to keep the vultures off.

Pamela Delancey

Dems flipped Republican-since-1999 seat in a +18 Trump House District in PA this week. But roll over and take you Gaines-ing, I guess. It's what we deserve.

Will there be another downtown barberitos?

I feel like I’ve heard so many rumors, but no one knows anything firm. Will it be a corporate store? A new store? New location? Old location? I need a burrito I can walk to again, and since I’m not 13 I don’t go to chipotle. Thanks.

Looking to rehome an angelfish.

[SUCCESS!!] - Thanks for all the help, I have found a home!

Im hoping this doesnt violate the rules, but I am hopeful that someone here might be looking for a beautiful addition to their aquarium. I have a 1.5 year old angel fish named Luna that needs a new home. She /he recently began being bullied by her tank mate and was almost killed. I have them in a small quarantine tank right now and they have recovered well but I dont have the resources or space for another adequately sized tank for her.

Please message me if interested.

Is ParkMobile predatory?? $75 ticket downtown.

Today we got back to our car to find a $75 ticket for 'Parked outside of space'. It was a parallel park on Hancock slightly past Little Kings near the church. The mirror was maybe slightly, if even touching the line, not close to the bike lane at all. In real time I would have called for a pitch challenge. Car behind us was fully over the line. The parking attendant (officer #2466P) also pushed in the passenger side mirror, which I feel like shouldn't be done as it could be a safety hazard once driving if we did not notice it. This feels a little egregious to me since I see cars and box trucks parked in the bike lane all the time on Hancock, especially outside of Creature during peak commute times. Would going to the parking office to dispute this do anything or would we have to wait to contest this in court? Can't necessarily ignore this one because we park downtown multiple times a week for work. Maybe ParkMobile needs the 40% cut from the ticket to repair all the vandalized signs, idk.

What are the cheapest good spots for food in Athens right now? (dine-in/take out or drive-thru)

Mainly looking for stuff that isn’t a chain literally everywhere has like a McDonald’s (which itself has gotten expensive)

DM me if you don’t want to blow up the spot :)

Mayoral campaign fundraising infographic

Part 1, Fundraising: Dexter Fisher's fundraising blows everyone else out of the water, even without independent expenditures. With Athens Forward, he dwarfs his opponents, tripling Tim Denson's total (which is quite high).

Part 2, Cost per vote: Dividing their fundraising by number of votes received, you can get a rough look at how efficient a particular campaign was. LaKeisha Gantt is the queen of efficiency, followed closely by Tim Denson's 2014 run.

Fisher is lagging far behind the pack, as expected, but take a look at Richie Knight's disastrous 2018 run. What a horrible campaign! Everyone else spending money that inefficiently at least won their election, dude. They could afford it. Kelly Girtz in 2022 is the most efficient campaign to actually win, something worth noting.

I would rather make out with the muzzle of a gun than drive anywhere in this town right now.

Why the fuck is every single road an active construction site during the first week of the fall semester?

That is all, carry on.

Oconee St Bridge

What’s the vision here? Is there a rendering of the finished project anywhere? According to the GDOT page for this project, it’s scheduled to be complete by the end of the year. Is the part under construction going to replace both halves of the old bridge?

Earthfare closed?

I went by earlier today and there was a sign on the door saying “store closed” with nothing saying why. Does anyone know what’s going on and when it will be back open?
