Finally pulled the trigger and got the m8 comp. I need license plate suggestions. Im thinking of getting “STFU M8” but i feel like the dmv will not allow it so if there are any other options out there, lmkkkk
I was recently informed that a simple battery replacement can cost $1,500 at a dealership. I sort of just assumed that's the dealership standard overcharging we all know and expect. But when I try to find simple information on replacing the battery of a G8x model, I cannot seem to find much information. The battery is extremely accessible, so why wouldn't be simple and inexpensive to just buy a replacement at an auto parts store and swap it in your own garage with a 10mm wrench?
Am I missing something unique to these cars?
Incredible, unbelievable work by a local upholstery guy (Stitchcraft NC is the name, I'm just a retail customer not an employee) using Nappa Cinnamon which has now turned into the only USA based (worldwide, too?) Alpine White over cinnamon E39 M5. Buttery soft, new lower driver seat foam, and all the trims and boots done. Even the side plastic and rear seat pocket and shell were wrapped. The stitching is phenomenal and nearly perfect. The car looks and drives and feels better than new but is 26 years old.
Has anyone here had their lower bumper gloss black trim grazed by a curb or footpath? Any advice on fixing it would be appreciated. The car has full front PPF, but the film only covers the trim to its edge, unfortunately. The car is only just over a month old, so I'm a bit gutted!
So my 2013 f13 m6 recently got diagnosed with scoring and striation in the cylinder bores. There's also some coolant that is ending up in the combustion chamber either through a failed head gasket or crack in the block. My question is, is it worth putting a new engine in (rebuilt with all OEM parts and acl rod bearings) for 10-12k for engine and installation, or do I just take the loss and scrap for a few thousand? Wwyd? Car is completely paid off, and I'm just trying to figure out the best way to go about this situation. Much appreciated!
Hello, I am looking at my local second hand market for a G8 M4 competition. (Please bare in mind the below comments are for EU and stock is not large for such cars on second hand market.)
Unlike the majority it seems, I actually love the looks of this model and have always wanted to join the BMW gang. However, having never owned a BMW and especially such an expensive car (my only car to date was a 1.4L VW) I wanted to ask for some tips on what to look out for when searching for a G82.
I have already test driven a 4wd version and I absolutely loved it. The owner changed the normal grill to a CS grill (which I personally love), and the interior is the pre face lift without the humangous screens (which again is my ideal spec). The car has under 40k Km and felt amazing to drive. Only thing I noticed was brake squeaking. He told me the brakes are normal, not ceramic. Is this normal?
Another thing of note, is that the owner mentioned he turned off lane assist being always on by default in the software. I would really appreciate it if you can recommend some tips or extras to look out for (either to have or avoid) for this spec of car. I plan to take it to BMW for a car/mechanic check up.

My 2026 M3 G80 has these weird plastic covers forward of the rear wheel well. They dont peel easily, meaning i dont believe it to be leftover shipping protection.
I'm stationed in germany. Bought this because my beater didn't have ac. I still have my 2001 audi a3. This thing is automatic and has ac. I'm giving it to my wife when I get back. No tax so it was 60k out the door and $25 to register. Its ok for my 2 mile commute.
Hi all. I’m looking for some winter wheel suggestions. I placed an order for 2027 sedan. I have a couple of days to switch to the 1000m wheels which I love dearly. The issue is there’s currently only performance tires available for size. I’m not actually going to run winters in the winter. Just all seasons. Anywho.
Im looking for suggestions on wheels I can use in the winter. I’m not a huge fan of after market products I really like it OEM style. Other than the obvious buy the 825ms just wondering if anyone had some suggestions on wheels that I could potentially snag used, e.g F90, that look good on the g80. I do have an internal fears that it’s possible in the future I may not be able to find any tires at all for the 1000m.

Title says it all. Looking to get an extra set of wheels for the occasional track day. My car has the staggered wheels, but not sure if that's what one does for the track. My only other track car is a Caterham 7 that runs slicks in autocross. Previously raced 400cc motorcycles.
