Grounding shoes vs regular barefoot shoes?

Grounding shoes are something I've been seeing a lot of ads for lately. I already wear barefoot shoes for the wide toe box and flat sole, but I'm not sure if the copper plugs or conductive stitching actually make a difference.

Some people swear by them for better sleep and less inflammation, while others say it's just marketing. I spend a lot of time walking in parks and on trails, so if there's an actual benefit, I might be interested.

Has anyone tried grounding shoes and noticed a real change in how they feel? Or should I just stick to my regular minimalist shoes and walk barefoot in the grass when I can?

flux footwear reviews? Looking for barefoot trainers

flux footwear keeps popping up on my feed, and I like that they look more like normal trainers than typical barefoot shoes. I want something for lifting and general gym work that doesn't scream 'minimalist shoe.'

I've seen people mention they're comfortable, but I'm worried about the toe box width. Some 'barefoot-inspired' shoes still taper too much at the end for my wide feet. Are they actually wide enough, or just zero drop?

If you own a pair, how do they hold up after a few months of use? I'm mostly curious if the soles are durable enough to justify the price.

Barefoot shoes waterproof enough for rainy daily use?

Barefoot shoes waterproof options are confusing me because every brand seems to define waterproof differently. I live somewhere rainy, so water resistance is not really enough if I'm walking to work or taking the dog out.

At the same time, I don't want a shoe that loses the whole barefoot feel. Some waterproof barefoot shoes look much thicker and stiffer, and I'm also worried about them getting sweaty or slippery on wet pavement.

If you've worn waterproof barefoot shoes through real rain, did they actually keep your feet dry? I'd love to know whether they still feel flexible or if waterproofing makes them feel like regular boots.

Wide toe box, Xero Drop, but not barefoot

I’m looking for recommendations for stylish sneakers with a wide toe box and zero drop, but without the minimalist “barefoot” feel.

I’ve been enjoying Altra, Xero, and Allbirds, but I’d like something more versatile and travel-friendly for different terrain. I’ve also found traditional Reebok and Nike sneakers uncomfortable after a full day.

I’m considering Birchbury, but they still seem more barefoot-oriented than what I want. I’m in my mid-20s and would love something as aesthetic as possible, ideally similar to Common Projects.

Any recommendations?

Waterproof minimalist shoes that aren't stiff?

Waterproof minimalist shoes are what I need for wet commutes and light trails, but I'm not sure if they really exist in a comfortable form. A lot of waterproof shoes I've tried before felt stiff, hot, and narrow.

I want something with a wide toe box and a fairly flexible sole, but I also don't want soaked socks every time it rains. I've noticed some minimalist waterproof models seem to trade ground feel for protection, which might be fine if they still feel natural enough.

Has anyone found waterproof minimalist shoes that are actually comfortable for daily walking? I'm curious how they handle breathability, traction, and long-term durability.

Barefoot Grounding Shoes in the USA?

I’m looking for true barefoot shoes with conductive soles for grounding/earthing, preferably available in the USA with fast shipping.

Most results I find are either sandals, non-barefoot grounding shoes, or overseas products.

Any recommendations?

Minimalist running shoes for someone starting slow?

Minimalist running shoes interest me because regular running shoes feel bulky, and I like the idea of my feet moving more naturally. I'm not trying to run marathons, just short easy runs a few times a week.

I know the transition is the big issue. I've seen enough warnings about calf pain, foot fatigue, and doing too much too soon that I'm trying to be careful. I'm also not sure whether to start with a very thin sole or something more protective.

If you switched to minimalist running shoes, what did your first month look like? Did you mix them with regular shoes, or completely change your running style from day one?

Barefoot gym shoes for lifting and some cardio?

Barefoot gym shoes seem like they would be great for lifting because I hate squatting in soft, high-heeled trainers. I want something flat and stable for deadlifts, squats, and general gym work.

My only concern is whether they feel too thin for the rest of a workout. I still do some treadmill walking, sled pushes, and machines, so I don't want my feet to feel beat up after every session. Sizing also seems tricky because I need toe room but don't want my foot sliding during lunges.

What are people using for barefoot gym shoes? Do they work well for mixed workouts, or are they mostly best for strength training?

Zero drop shoes and calf soreness, how normal is it?

Zero drop shoes are on my radar because I keep hearing they can feel more natural for walking and posture. I've always worn regular sneakers with a raised heel, so I know switching might be a bigger change than it looks.

The thing that makes me hesitate is all the talk about calf soreness and Achilles tightness during the transition. I walk a decent amount every day, and I can't really afford to be limping around because I changed shoes too quickly.

For people who moved to zero drop shoes, how slowly did you build up time in them? Did you use them only for short walks at first, or were they fine for daily wear right away?

Peak Footwear Barefoot Shoes , Any Reviews?

Has anyone tried Peak Footwear's barefoot shoes? I keep seeing their Facebook ads and want to know if they're legit before buying. I contacted them with a question but haven't received a reply.

If you've had any experience with them, or can recommend affordable barefoot shoes. I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Wide toe shoes that don't feel loose everywhere else?

Wide toe shoes sound like exactly what I need, but I'm worried about the fit through the rest of the foot. My forefoot is wide, but my heel isn't, so a lot of wider shoes end up slipping when I walk.

I want more space around my toes because regular sneakers feel cramped, especially on longer walks. At the same time, I don't want something that feels sloppy or makes me grip with my toes just to keep the shoe on.

If you've found wide toe shoes that still lock down well at the heel, what should I look for? Is sizing down a bad idea with this type of shoe?
