Image 1 — Do you think Storm is a better hand to hand fighter than Black Widow since she held her own against the Dora Milaje just as well if not better than Natasha? I feel like that's an insanely underrated showing of her skills

I'm not sure. I think Storm is a very underrated hand to hand fighter. Its worth acknowledging Storm without her powers has beaten Callisto, an enhanced fighter and master of all martial arts.

She has also genuinely thrown hands and contended with both Wolverine and Black Panther (both probably in the top 5 most skilled fighters in Marvel) in back and forth fights, while Natasha is nowhere near TChalla or Logan's level in hand to hand combat.

And so seeing both of their performances against the Dora Milaje, it made me wonder if this could also lead to arguments that Storm is a better hand to hand fighter than the Black Widow. What are your thoughts?

I think the addition of Natasha would've improved this roster

Sometimes you'll need a spy

Found Nat!

Picked up some Magic the Gathering Boosters in hopes of drawing a Widow. She was the last card in the last booster (five in total) that I opened.

Decent art, she's a legendary (tho "Human Hero Villain" sounds weird, why not just Anti-Hero, Hero Assassin, or Avenger?), and she has Deathtouch, which she should.

That additional ability is pretty good, too.

Has anyone here read Killmonger's 2018 mini-run? If so what are your thoughts on how Black Widow was handled in it?

Some help with a Phase One Black Widow movie

So I’ve been making my own rewrite of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (original I know). One idea I have for it is giving Black Widow her own trilogy during the Infinity Saga, basically to flesh her character out more.
For the first film, I do have a general outline, but the specifics… yeah I need some help, and given that this \*is\* the subreddit where we fix movies, I was hoping you guys could help me out.
Overall details I’ve sorted out are:
\- The movie focuses on Black Widow’s defection from the Red Room, with her main arc being her seeking redemption.
\- Tone is that of a gritty 2000s action thriller, kinda like The Bourne Trilogy or Nolanverse.
\- Clint Barton/Hawkeye will be the secondary character, distrusting Natasha at first but having an arc about him learning to accept that people can change.
\- Yelena Belova appears as an antagonist, bitter about Natasha’s defection, which happens around the end of the first act.
\- The Budapest mission is depicted, with me having two ideas on when it would happen:

  1. It occurs at the movies climax, or
  2. It occurs around the end of the 2nd act, with the 3rd seeing Clint and Nat’s standoff with the Hungarians.
\- The movie ends with Natasha becoming a member of SHIELD.
I’ll figure out some more of the details, I just kinda need help with specific stuff like dialogue, different scenes, etc. If you guys could give me some ideas, it’d really help.
Thanks, I look forward to seeing what you bring to the table.

What makes Black Widow your favourite anti-hero and what do you think makes her stand out among the crowd of other great Marvel anti-heroes?

Would Comic Book Black Widow made the sacrifice for the Soul Stone just like MCU Black Widow?

Black Widow Marvel Legends

Pretty decent take on classic black catsuit Natasha. A bit disappointing there’s nothing in the was of guns or stinger effects.

A confession about natasha

Comic books are complicated and no shows that better than Natasha Romanoff. While many people are able to easily say what they prefer out of this character. Im more on the rocks about her characterization i loved every black widow run (had a little dislike for Richard k Morgan's run, but im over that now.) Its weird because for me i see her more as an influential hero type who isnt afraid to get down and dirty. Unlike some of my peers im able to praise the Kelly Thompson run thats like my favorite bw book. I even have a poster on my wall of it. One of the few comics that actually made me cry and ill admit I was very agitated over some of the hate as an autistic person cuase I love that run so much. I have an attachment to the more heroic side of nat. Like yeah shes not bubbly (and id be concerned if she was, like i think Kelly's nat is nice, but shes not that bubbly really.) Yeah its sad to see that there are a lot of fans who disagree with me, but its not so sad when I see that there are fans who do love it.

However the popular opinion seems to lean more towards the anti hero and sometimes I feel so out of touch with everyone else despite there being othrr fans who love kellys take. Though I do know that I have every right to interpret her and the way I interpret her is a bit mixed. Ive always viewed her as some sort of heroic spy whether it be saving trafficked women/kids, kicking the f**k out of abusers, or fighting aliens. I really relate to the redemption stuff because I too feel guilt about things ive done in the past and its why that really reasonates with me. You guys have every right to disagree.

And also I must mention that I do adore her ruthlessness its just something that I had to think about over the years. I mean there are heroes who shoot people (pulp heroes basically) so I can easily say I dont really have a problem with her killing and im sure Steve and Matt know. Shes able to do the stuff they cant. I love that. Its really cool to have someone who can be nice and help save the world sometimes while also being a ruthless morally gray spy and taking down the people who deserve it. I just wanted tot get this out of the way cause its a lot.

What would you say are Black Widow's flaws (in the comics)?

Obviously we all love Natasha and I feel like its very easy to talk about her best qualities as well as all the different ways she displays how cool she is, but I think part of loving a character is also acknowledging their flaws as those flaws are what make them feel more interesting, human, relatable, and helps us understand them, while also leaving room for potential good character growth. So what would you say are Natasha’s flaws?
