Boiled water

Wondering if food vendors sell just boiling water at all?

Debating taking something like huel to the campsite, but don’t really want to take cooking equipment just to boil water if I can just get it from a vendor.

Anyone done this before?

Thanks in advance! 🤘

Give me suggestions!

Im so excited for my first Bloodstock! On my list to see are Slaughter to Prevail, Northlane, Fit For An Autopsy and Graphic Nature.

My favourite bands at the moment are Counterparts, Currents, Polaris, Kublai Khan and 156/Silence

Any other sets I should see based on what I like? ☺️

I made a free metal festival booking simulator game

I've spent the last while building a browser game called MetalFestV.

The idea is simple: open band packs, build your festival lineup, place bands across stages, and try to sell out increasingly larger festivals. You'll need to balance headliners, support acts, stage placement and overall lineup strength if you want to make it all the way to Download Festival.

It's completely free, runs in your browser, and has no ads.

I'd genuinely love feedback from people who actually listen to this music because the whole game is built around metal, metalcore, hardcore and rock festival culture.

Selling my general camping ticket

I have been trying to sell my 5 night camping ticket on Tixel & Twickets to no avail.

So if anyone wants a general camping ticket for £200, LMK and I'll send the pdf across 😁

As much as I was excited to be attending Bloodstock and dying in the STP pits, it's a huge logistical nightmare to get to the festival from Pembrokeshire 😅

Weekend camping ticket arena only

bit of an odd question (bloodstock first timer) but im thinking of buying a weekend camping ticket off tixel, but staying in a air b&b 20 mins away, is it okay to travel to the festival each day using a camping ticket rather than buying 4 individual day tickets

thanks

Hi all, some questions from someone who's never been but is considering it for 2027!

So I've been thinking about going since 2022, since moving in with my flatmate last year she's discovered a love for festivals and the other day she "found" bloodstock and got excited wanting to go so I just have a few questions

How do the payment plans work? like is it one payment due straight away then every month until its paid or do they start in the new year?

What's the venue like? I know it's smaller, but roughly how close is the coach drop off to the campsites and from camp to the arena?

What can we expect from the lineup?
we enjoy power metal, thrash and I like a bit of core, looking at previous years lineups I usually don't know too many of the bands, there always seems to be something I love every day! one of my favourite parts of going to download over the years is seeing those I don't know so that's not a worry!

Any other info we should know before hand? I know it's like 13 and a half months away but better to be overly prepared!!

Thanks in advance folks!

Anyone actually like Bloodstock here?

This is our first time going and we're really looking forward to it but holy hell this sub seems relentlessly negative.

VIP patch of grass

I'm looking into buying resale VIP patch of grass tickets and selling my early admission general tickets and I have some questions. I have been going to bloodstock for the last 2 years and have only ever been in regular camping. I realize that these questions all probably have obvious answers and are all probably stupid questions but I need to be sure.

How are patches of grass allocated?

Do you just claim free ones that are next to each other if you're camping in a group?

Does the VIP patch of grass ticket grant arena access (almost definitely a stupid question but better safe than sorry)?

How are the VIP toilets and showers?

How far is the walk from the VIP camp to the VIP parking?

How expensive is the VIP bar?

How big are the patches of grass?

What day and time does the VIP camp open?

Can I go to meet friends in the regular camps if I have a VIP wristband?

There's probably some questions I've forgotten to ask so I might edit this post in the future. Thanks

Fat franks questions

Gonna be travelling down on me ones on the big green bus thinking of just pre-ordering me camping stuff from franks

I'm assuming it's just a pick up and go experience like Morrisons or Asdas?

What's the quality like?

Do I get a free orange hat ? 😅

What's the deal with all of the tickets on Tixel right now?

Obviously some of them, as we've seen on here, are people that can't or might not be able to make it for various reasons, but there are currently 50+ tickets available and plenty have already been hoovered up by people who didn't manage to buy before it sold out - over a month before the festival. That's not "oh shit, something's come up". Seems like a lot of people selling tickets.

Is this more a case of people buying them on finance just in case they fancy it, and now they're selling them? Slaughter to Prevail were announced at the festival last year, so presumably anybody selling their tickets because they're playing must've known before they bought them.

How are you planning to deal with heat?

It’s a bit fucking warm, guys, gals and nonbinary pals. I’m not sure how well I could handle this in a shadeless field for four days. I’m planning to drink several times my weight in water, put on a three-centimetre thick layer of sun cream and wear a hat for shade and a kilt for a pleasant cooling effect on the legs.

Anyone else making survival plans?

I know Hellfest has cold-water shower type things you can stand under if you need to. Is there anything like that at Bloodstock?

Day Ticket Question

Just coming for the Sunday this year, first time I've done a single day rather than the full weekend. I assume ticket exchange for wristband happens at the main entrance between Asgard & Valhalla and then you enter round the corner like normal?

Erm.

Just been rejected on a dating site (better? Lol) because im attending bloodstock...(lmao)

Apparently it's now a full fledged Nazi-fest...

This will be my 13th year and I think this has been the first time this much negativity has surrounded the festival.

Feedback from the zoom chat with Adam and Rachael from Bloodstock

Hey everyone, so following on from my last post, a couple of us here did the Zoom chat with Adam (and Rachael from Bloodstock also joined) this evening.

My last post was seen by over 27K people and I had nearly 200 messages from people on here. The Zoom call was for an hour and it did run over, so I had to condense a lot into the four main issues that people had raised, and to allow those taking part time to have their say too. My apologies, but it was just impossible to raise everything.

So the four main topics discussed were:-

Practical health & safety: long queues for water, water pressure, more shaded areas needed & security taking sealed bottles of water off people

Feedback: Adam and Rachael acknowledged the water issues, and said they have strict health and safety protocols in place for dealing with heatwaves. They follow the Purple Guide for festival standards. They also made a point to say that even when the festival is technically sold out, they factor in a few thousand less people in this, so Bloodstock is never oversold.

After the heatwave in ‘22, they brought more water into the site (more than was used). I believe Rachael said they may be installing more water taps/troughs by the SOPHIE stage this year. People can also get free water at the bars which none of the group were aware of, and we suggested signage behind the bars to improve this.

There are no plans for more shaded areas. They pointed out the existing shaded areas such as the SOPHIE stage, the smaller band tents, the art gallery and the gaming tent. They said shaded areas don’t reduce the heat much and they’d been recommended to use camo netting from the army under the canopy in the SOPHIE stage which is more effective.

With regards to sealed water bottles being taken off people by security, they recommended people bring in only empty bottles to use at the water taps due to people trying to bring alcohol into the arena. However, they did say they have a more relaxed policy with sealed water in exceptionally hot weather.

Women’s safety (harassment/groping etc), racially motivated incidents / LGBTQ safety

Feedback: They reiterated their zero tolerance stance on this, said Bloodstock is a friendly family festival that is welcoming to everyone, regardless of gender/identity, race etc. Any incidents are escalated through a structured chain and logged, with police being notified when necessary. They stated that they take this all very seriously, and anyone caught being troublesome will be debanded and thrown out.

With particular regards to women’s safety, Rachael explained that she’s recently attended a Safer Spaces course, and that there will be increased signage/posters/screen time highlighting how people can spot sexual harassment, what it is and how to report it. Bloodstock will also be running a social media campaign leading up to the festival to increase awareness. Adam also mentioned that he has two daughters who attend the festival so it’s a main priority for him that women feel safe attending.

We discussed concerns over security/stewards not taking people seriously when reporting these problems, and not escalating the complaint up the chain. They said they will be having a meeting with the company that they source the security/stewards from to investigate this further, and that a review with security is done on site everyday. They also advised that if anyone is not satisfied with how security/stewards address their complaint, that they should speak to someone at the Info Tent who have a direct line to Adam and Rachael, so it can be escalated and dealt with properly.

Nazi flags/symbols in the campsite, neo-nazi group harassing people & vendors selling nazi crosses/right wing merch

Feedback: With regards to vendors, they were aware of one a few years ago and this vendor has not been allowed back since. They have two people (spotters) employed who regularly check what vendors are selling and report any problems to them. Bloodstock itself does not have any legal powers to physically confiscate merch, but said anyone caught selling offensive material will not be allowed back.

Nazi flags - they said they were aware of one offensive flag which was reported last year, but that there was some initial confusion as to whether it was actually a Celtic symbol or not which is why immediate action was not taken. They reiterated the zero tolerance policy and said anyone caught flying nazi/neo-nazi flags will be debanded and thrown out.

The group expressed concerns of multiple people reporting numerous nazi flags in the campsites, and also the neo-nazi group harrassing people, and being ignored/dismissed by security/stewards. They said this will be addressed in their meeting with the security company next week and made it very clear that this was not acceptable at Bloodstock.

Slaughter To Prevail

Feedback:

Adam went into a lot of detail about StP and said Alex Terrible is a parent now who has changed his ways, learnt from his previous behaviour and moved on from his past. He said Alex is also now working with the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, and that society should allow people a second chance to be better. They said they do a lot of research into the bands they book, and pride themselves on helping to elevate bands to headliner status, giving Sleep Token as an example.

They reiterated that Bloodstock has a zero tolerance policy, and any band doing anything offensive on stage that goes against that will not play Bloodstock again.

They said Bloodstock is a family friendly festival where everyone is welcome to be themselves and have a great time.

Festival Fuel…Bloodstock edition???

*admin please delete if inappropriate…

Hi! Im Simon and I own the Bonnebon Confectionery Co. If you've been to Download this year you would have seen me posting about the FAT FRANKS X BONNEBON Festival fuel pick’n’mix which I made specifically for UK festivals (we originally wanted to do a Festival survival box but my time restraints had to shelve that sadly) and it was a great success….

Me and Fat Franks have talked about doing a different mix for different festivals so my question is…

Would you like to see a Bloodstock Festival Fuel pick’n’mix with a horror inspired selection of gummies and jellies hopefully that fit in with the theme of the weekend?

I sadly havent been able to attend Bloodstock yet and Im jealous of all of you as It looks like an absolute blast, but it has been on my travel list since 2021 (Theres a hige bunch of festivals on this list Bloodstock is one that really stands out as an independent festival) and hopefully one day If i can get a mobile van or trailer I can be one of the vendors too ☺️ then I can take Fat Franks crown as Lord of the Bins!!!

please let me know what you think, I wouldnt have very long to sort this out, bloodstock is just a few weeks away, any tips or suggestions are welcome too, let me know…Simon

Removed post.

Decided to remove my post, wasn't there to put anyone on blast or anything.

I just found it sad, a place ive met friends (of all sexuality, genders, colours and even religions) found dates, and somewhere that feels like home is seen like an unsafe place.

I do hope the festival turns a corner before its too late.

Hope everyone's having a fantastic summer so far and the heat isn't getting you.

🖖
