First timer 18m visiting

I need some suggestions for someone who will be alone between May 28- June 2nd
A little about me. I’m 18 and very social, I love baseball unfortunately there are no home games while I’m there, I am not a picky eater, I have never had clam chowder, love live theater performances, and live music. I don’t have a budget since the trip is being paid for and I can spend all my money so lmk where you guys think I should go.

HOUSE PARTY TONIGHT @ 8PM

It’s @Richie617_ on Instagram and I’m hosting an event tonight at my place with my roommates. It’s in Roxbury, 5 minute walk from Roxbury crossing.

Text 508 850 6400 for address

BYOB

what the space has:

Huge inside area
Outdoor patio space that’s massive
Designated fireplace section
Working on a live DJ

LOCALS ONLY: if you’re not from Boston it’s a NO.

ID’s will be checked by me at the door

This is not a project X , this is a controlled event to see how the Boston public reacts to a house party.

I’m 25 and I leave for the Basic in a month and I want to make it count.

My birthdays the 21st of May and if all goes well we will have a FUNCTION FRIDAY THE 22nd of MAY, 2026.

BYOB AGAIN because I’m not a millionaire yet.

Power in Print: Guerrilla Mag puts up a fight for Black, queer and ‘femme’ communities in Boston

Drum beats from a practicing musician thump up and down the hallway, as Vikiana Petit-Homme sits on a couch in an arts studio in Dorchester. The 24-year-old editor and activist is holding a copy of her newest issue of Guerrilla Mag, a zine she edits with a friend and model, Tatiana White. This particular copy of the glossy magazine is smeared with fingerprints. It has clearly been heavily handled since it was printed earlier this year. But the worn out cover of her copy of Guerrilla’s No. 2 issue can’t hide the vibrant and striking design of the work that Petit-Homme can’t stop talking about

“It’s grungy,” says the editor earlier this week, “We want it to have that punk feeling.”

Spam calls

Is anyone else dealing with 20 calls a day about your loan application, someone saying they're calling from the underwriting department and my new favorite, tax relief? I cannot block them fast enough before there's 3 more. They all leave voicemails. I'm going insane!

I don't answer them, I'm on the do not call list, I block them all. How do you make it stop besides changing your number?

Relocating to Boston … I have questions…

Okay, I’m relocating to Boston to work at Boston Children’s. I’m in my early 40’s, single female with a dog. I’m trying to figure out what areas to look for housing both in and outside the city. I’m pretty easy going, and have lived every experience from rural to urban and find something appealing about each space. So what are your favorite areas? Where would you live in a similar situation? And why would you want to be there? I’m hoping to keep my rent below $3500/month. And yes I realize I haven’t said much about my interests or wants, but those seem to change with each area I move to, so I want to know what your favorite areas are and why:) thanks for taking a minute to respond!

New apartment construction data From Realtor.com

The Northeast is leading the country in new apartment construction, posting a 42% year-over-year surge in completed multifamily units and an 81% jump in new starts in Q1 2026, offering renters in Boston and Philadelphia early signs of relief as rents fall.

Thinking about opening a pottery studio in South Boston — would you actually come?

I have the opportunity to open a membership-based ceramics studio/makerspace on West Broadway in Southie. Open studio access with wheels, handbuilding, kilns (cone6 electric), clay for purchase. Classes and workshops if there's interest. The space is ready, the funding is in place, and I'm ready to commit — but I need to know the demand is there before I sign a lease.

Most studios in the Greater Boston area are full and have waitlists. I think Southie is underserved but I've also heard that people won't deal with the parking and traffic to get there.

So honestly — would you pay $200-225/month for open studio membership in South Boston? Would you make the trip? Or would you only consider this if it were in Cambridge, Somerville, or somewhere else?

If Southie isn't the right fit I'll look elsewhere, but I want to hear it from the people who'd actually use it.

Happy to answer any questions.
