Lack of voicelines

One of the main factors that made Brawl Stars such a popular game and caught my attention was the presence of voice lines for most of the brawlers. Actually, one of the main things that makes me like a brawler or not is precisely their personality and voice, since those define their charisma. I remember when I started, I really liked Colt's voice lines, and even when I went on a 4-year hiatus from playing, his lines stayed stuck in my head for a very long time.

However, some brawlers, especially the older ones, have very shallow or very few voice lines compared to the newer ones. When we compare someone like Shelly to Draco or Stella, the difference becomes clear: Shelly only shouts, grumbles, laughs, groans, and occasionally utters a few catchy phrases. Draco, on the other hand, has entire sentences full of references that end up being quite captivating, while Stella... F*ck Stella ("episode 6*").

Penny is exactly the same case as Shelly, except her lines are much less interesting. She just screams, grumbles, laughs, and makes that characteristic pirate accent. The only times we see more of her personality beyond just the typical pirate stereotype are in the comics, especially in the announcement of the ranked skins where she appears hunting and capturing various brawlers like a bounty hunter. Poco is a case that pains me quite a bit, because despite his charisma, his voice lines unfortunately haven't aged well; He doesn't have any lines that are 100% in Spanish, unlike his trio companions. His voice also sounds a bit forced at times, and he doesn't show much emotion, especially in lines where he's supposed to raise his voice. The difference is noticeable when we listen to DJ Poco's voice.

It might be asking too much, but I really think some brawlers need a redub, since the minuscule amount of voice lines makes listening to them very repetitive. Regarding the repetition issue, Supercell seems to have noticed this and called back several of the original voice actors to do the new animations, because... we play with them all the time. Eventually, their voices would start to repeat, which breaks the immersion of the character having their own personality. Jacky's lines were the main reason I loved the character from the start, but they don't captivate me anymore because I've heard them so many times I've memorized them all.

This becomes even clearer when we see that brawlers in general have a very small amount of voice lines if compared with characters from other games. In TF2, for example, each merc has between 10-15 minutes of dialogue, as far as I remember. They have their own lines for most situations, including unique interactions with other mercs, which ultimately reveals their relationship with the rest of the team.

how do a brawler make their hypercharge?

i been interested in this, basically we got this from alli’s release animation, but also theres hypercharge feature release animation where the retropolis and some classic brawlers get some attention, mainly being it bull because > what if they had to train to get their hypercharge? basically supers are canon in the lore obviously, but we still don’t know what brawlers make hypercharges, or the origin of it? maybe it was discovered to enough exercise or power to get a hypercharge? maybe people think the hypercharges made because of the gems, but i don’t think that’s possible, some hypercharges are really powerful ingame, but also we wanna focus on their supers, lets say a example of shelly’s hypercharge, she put purple flaming ammos in her boomstick to activate her hypercharge “double barrel” which makes her super shell more larger, but also, ingame it can take some brawlers way easier to charge their hypercharge, and some brawlers the opposite, maybe it can link to how maybe years they can take to charge their hypercharges or months, or just weeks, or maybe, MAYBE they can get their hypercharges in different ways, like jae yong’s hypercharge name, “crowd pleaser” which yes, pleases the crowd. But i think its way more than that, but also hypercharged supers can be different lore wise (okay captain obvious) like cordelius’s hypercharge name “complete darkness” which it can make your vision completely dark and also slows you, so drop your thinkings below!!

Who exactly is the "player"?

One topic I never see anyone address is our representation in the game; in various interactive events, the brawlers refer to us as separate entities rather than some character from the roster. This means that whoever is playing is actually participating in what happens within the game, and the brawlers are aware of our presence. Not only that, but Janet has already shown that she knows someone is watching, as she talks to us in an animation. Juju in her shop also talks to us as if we were visitors, and she doesn't make it clear whether we're a brawler or not.

This becomes even more clear when we start a new game; we are greeted by Shelly, who talks to us and teaches us how to play, as if we were a "visitor." This is especially evident in the part where she introduces us to the ammo system, when she says "I'll reload as quickly as possible," as if we were controlling her. Not only that, but she also talks to us through the interface and teaches us how to use the brawler upgrade system. This meta-language of the character "breaking the fourth wall" and interacting didactically with us has already been used several times in comics and cartoons. For example, in the Static Shock episode where Virgil talks to us about the dangers of carrying weapons. This is frequently seen in similar games during tutorial stages, but Brawl Stars likes to try and apply in-game mechanics to the lore (gadgets, hypercharges and the respawn system).

Something about having total control of the interface also raises a question. We have access to a number of characters that can be selected and switched at any time, each with their own personality. I previously presented the theory that the game is merely a fictional representation of what actually happens in the park, as a way to divert attention and interpret the events as if we were actually there, and if that's true, we either possess and control the brawler, having full access to their movements and abilities, or we transform into them (kind of like Ben does with the Omnitrix). If that's the case, what will the player actually look like? Are we really human visitors, or something else?

What are your thoughts on this?

Who's the important character of the BS main storyline?

(Image unrelated to this post.)

Brawl Stars features many characters, but most are unrelated to the main storyline, leading a normal daily lives and remaining completely unaware of Starr Park's conspiracy, only a few characters are important in the main storyline, such as the Goldarm Gang trio, Gale, the Starr Hub trio, the villain Sirius, and perhaps Charlie, who is also part of the circus trio? I'm curious who else, besides these individuals, is a important character in the main storyline?

they never did anything with him

justice for my boy lou, hes always ignored just because he was the last member of his trio. he needs a bigger role in the lore because both his trio members have a huge role

Thoughts on this new short?

It just puzzles me how in the end the three enemy brawlers simply disappear as if they were respawning. It seems like more in-game mechanics actually exist in the lore.

Starr Park's goal (Pictures RELATED)

This is a theory but also a post I hope will discussion. I have zero clue if this is a popular thought btw, so sorry if this is an obvious thing.

So in a nutshell people go to Starr Park, get infected with gems, and are never allowed to leave again. Right?

So to get to the point, I think Starr Park's main goal for these Brawlers is to make them real life marketable cartoon characters.

With the animation the first picture is from, it hints that Colt might have some kind of memory loss. The gems or Starr Park could be able to take away most of the Brawlers memory of their life before Starr Park.

With the fact that gems can make people immortal, give them abilities, AND possibly make them stop aging, Starr Corp knew that they can basically kidnap people and turn them into brawlers to make them more money. According to Sirius' first introduction animation, watching the Brawlers fight is probably a popular attraction for visitors.

Also the brawlers are marketable and can easily have merchandise made of them. Thats why Brawlers like Colette and Damian look so different after contact with the gems.

Gems alsochave been seen to be able to exaggerate the person that is infected personality, which is common for cartoon characters.

Also wouldn't it be weird to have merch of normal employees if they weren't supposed to be Starr Corp's own characters?

Basically I think their goal is to dehumanize them.

Also before you say "Well, it's a cartoony game of course they would act like that-" I'm talking about the in-universe, lore reason lol. Tell me if any of this doesn't make sense so I can explain.

Why the newest Brawl cup animation gives us a useful insight on Kaze and Kenji’s sushi restaurant(read desc):

You see, it has been mentioned multiple times that Kaze and Kenji own a sushi resturant, and we’ve even seen the interior of it in Kaze’s animation! But, we haven’t seen a good view of the exterior of it before now. However, this animation shows Kaze and Kenji running up their sushi restaurant(building shown in image). This is fantastic, since this means we can now see the exterior of Kaze and Kenji’s sushi restaurant clearly(we couldn’t prior to this animation). This means one could theoretically map out Kaze and Kenji’s restaurant, (with the assistance of the interior shown in Kaze’s animation), which would be able to gather all of the information found about the restaurant. (Think of it like how people map out stuff from Scientology speedruns). All in all, the new brawl cup animation gives us a useful insight since it can help us learn more about Kaze and Kenji’s sushi restaurant.

So we know that the cctv is how we saw the brawlers became well brawlers so what is your headcanon on how some brawlers became brawlers

I.e., just put your idea on what a brawler was doing before they became a brawler. What was the chian reaction that cause them to come in contact with the gems and what did to starr Park after that

"Brawlers👊👊 don't❌ have nationalities🇺🇸🇨🇵🇰🇵" is the dumbest💩 thing that ever came from the official✅ Brawl🤜 Stars⭐ lore

(Image not really related)

"Oh yeah, by the way, after 9 years of Brawl Stars, and a billion mentions towards different countries, languages, and cultures, we just wanted to let you guys know that the brawlers in the game don't actually have any nationalities!! They're just references to nationalities!"

Is some bull SHIT! What do you mean brawlers have no nationalities when most brawlers in the game very obviously have specific origins? Like Melodie for example, who speaks korean, is a k-pop idol, and references korean culture, doesn't have a nationality? Then where did she come from? Was she born and raised in Starr Park and happens to be a koreaboo? And the mexican entertainers; why are they called MEXICAN if they aren't even from Mexico? Shelly's nationality was confirmed by official Brawl Stars to be Argentinian!! So they just retconned that?

This bit about the lore is so stupid I choose to ignore it completely. Anyone else do the same?

I just ran out of ideas, so just give me your headcannon about your favorite brawlers and I'll rate it with passion

Colt is proficient with various types of weapons and ammunition, result of the rigorous training imposed by his parents, a pair of criminals. His marksmanship surpasses the capabilities of almost any regular human, except for Piper and Pierce.

Poco has the ability to travel between the world of the undead and the real world. His healing ability comes from the hidden power of music to bring life, still unknown to most living beings.

Jacky's ability to return damage is actually her capacity to absorb kinetic energy, allowing her to jump with her jackhammer like a pogo stick. This ability came from her direct contact with the gems, after the explosion in the "Trouble in the Mines" tape.

what brawler do you think would be the most complex if written correctly?

honestly, it’s alot of brawlers, but i’d say charlie, pierce, sirius (ofc), najia, and finx, i think the five of them have very high potential to be greatly written characters, najia being the first (heavily implied) neurodivergent character is a great step for representing and lore, but also focus more towards her dynamic on finx, and colt, finx is like a god, not a religion god, but as “all powerful being” due of the fact he can levitate, and do so much more, more of egyptian mythology on finx and more the fact that he sees himself as a “all powerful being” basically his escape room being centered the fact he’s a god, and charlie and sirius would have a BEAUTIFUL POTENTIAL 10/10 WRITING if sirius and her wasn’t a “wasted potential” ironic isn’t it, and pierce? i still don’t know about anything of his lore, but i think he’s one of the most confusing brawlers on lore, doug and buzz have lore that is kind of simple, but pierce? i dont know, drop your thinkings below!!

Theory time put on your tin can hats

So my theory is really weak , and has basically no evidence but i believe that power 1 brawlers are brawlers that have hardly manifested the power of gems , only having the power to not die , but as you upgrade , they start to get a-hold of their powers and can perform new abilities in the form of gadgets , starpowers and gears, over time as they get ahold of their powers , they also get buffs (like health , regen damage and etc) but remember brawlers, its a theory a game theory

This artwork from March 2026 might show that Mandy has died in the lore

This scene of Chester helping Charlie says a lot, especially few weeks after the Sirius animation was released where he stole his shadows inside the building, and Mandy was his nearest target, so not sure if this type of scene had happened before to others.

For more evidence , she hasn’t been mentioned since then and is currently on F tier meta wise
