X rays before referral

Going through my insurance to get my reduction and had an appointment this week where my pcp gave me a referral to get some xrays done. I'm curious to find out if anyone had to get back x rays taken after asking your pcp and what ended up happening after? I'm just curious what they could be looking for or if its a good step in the right direction.

Scar care!

Hi hi fellow Franken-titted friends.

I am officially 6 weeks post op today! I have purchased both silicone gel and bio oil, and also have some silicone tape coming in the mail. Which of the three is most recommended? I will probably try a combo of the three in some way. My doctor said the tape is the most proven way that helps, but I’ve heard good stuff about bio oil. Not sure about the silicone gel but would love to hear from other’s experience.

Compression Bra Question

Hi! I have some practical questions about these bras. 3wpo and I only have 2 compression bras I wear 23/7 but I am experiencing itching and chafing on my skin around the edges of the bra. I got the one my surgeon recommended on Amazon (FeelinGirl). How many compression bras do you have? How often do you wash them?

BEST Breast Reduction specialists in Tri State area, East Coast, or anywhere that takes insurance

Hello!

I’d really appreciate anyone’s help in recommending the best breast reduction niche surgeons. It is so hard to find someone who specializes in it and delivers beautiful, non boxy results. I feel like I’ve been through a lot of surgeons and have yet to find the one. There’s so many great augmentation surgeons, but it’s been hard to find those who deliver great reduction/lift results

I’d really love to find someone based in Philly/Jersey/NY/DMV area, but I’m open to others if they’re amazing. Preferably, they’d accept insurance as that is the route I’d like to take. But if their technique is that good and consistent, I’ll consider otherwise.

Kids after reduction?

Hi, I’ve wanted a breast reduction since I was in my early 20s. I’m now 30 years old. At first it was because I was worried they would get big again and I had to do it again. I finally got past that and then learned that it could affect my ability to breastfeed. But I had a consult today to get the info. The good news my insurance will cover it and the requirements of removal is actually exactly what I would want. However she said I have to be okay with losing the ability to breastfeed. That she wouldn’t know until in there if I need a whole nipple graft, and in that case I definitely couldn’t breastfeed. I’ve been dealing with excruciating neck pain the last 8 months. I’ve done PT, acupuncture, massage, chiro etc and it’s still ongoing. I’ve been unable to work out in the gym how I want to. Hence while I finally had a consult and we do believe this is a large amount of my pain. Do I try and make peace and grieve not being able to breastfeed, I’ve always wanted that. But I’m not ready to have kids in the next 1-2 years more realistically closer to 3. Any opinions and advice welcomed as I process this.

So unhappy

I am 6 weeks post breast lift/mini implant. I lost volume in the upper part of my breasts through weight loss. My nipples seem so close together and uneven. When I wear a bathing suit, it is very obvious. My doctor now tells me that it’s my anatomy and my breasts sit naturally close. I never noticed that prior to surgery. Any chance they will even out and/or spread apart a bit from 6 weeks on? I paid $30k for this from a top NYC surgeon that specializes in breasts.

Recs for breast reduction surgeons in Mexico City or Tijuana

I’ve been wanting a breast reduction for yearssss. My breasts are a daily inconvenience/discomfort for me and honestly one of my biggest insecurities. They genuinely affect my day-to-day life.

I’ve been researching surgeons for almost a year now and am getting quoted around $22k–$28k in the OC/LA area. I completely understand that quality plastic surgery is expensive, but those prices just seem kind of insane

I also looked into IE surgeons and even though they’re much cheaper, they definitely don’t perform the same aesthetic results. Since this is a surgery I’ve wanted for YEARS and something I’ve been saving up for for a long time, I don’t want to compromise on results either.

Because of that, I’ve started looking into Mexico City or Tijuana and wanted to see if anyone has personal experiences or surgeon recommendations they can share. I’ve tried to do research on the top surgeons there but they don’t have any galleries on their sites which is how I decide to book a consultation.

My biggest priorities are:
- lifted/perky
- preserving upper fullness
- long-lasting support
- good shape retention over time
- good technique for minimal scarring
-natural positioning of nipples

Looking for surgeons who do:
- internal bra technique
- GalaFLEX/internal mesh support
- auto-augmentation mastopexy

Would LOVE recommendations from anyone who had similar goals or knows surgeons in CDMX/TJ and your experience. Thank you !!

3MPO under arms

My armpits are fuller than before surgery and i have almost a tube boob ob either side under arms along rib cage. Its soft and squishy, not dog ear shaped. Dont have another appointment scheduled, should i be concerned? Is this typical swelling, ive has so much more swelling than most people ive seen post, so im wondering if this is just new swelling? Its been full since surgery but not noticeable or defined i guess id say? Or maybe im just noticing it more now bc im trying to put on swimsuits? I feel like i would have noticed this? Kinda freaking out, i dont wanna go in for another surgery, this one made my nerves go nuts and it was like sensory overload for the first few weeks.

Been waiting for a reduction for 9+ years now I have surgery in 3 days! I’m so scared

I was a 14D cup by 12 the biggest I ever was around 18H, I’ve always fluctuated and now I’m around a 16G at almost 20, I’ve got scoliosis in my upper spine that constantly hurts and lower back pain.
At 12 my mum started looking into reductions due to them already causing difficulties but I got rejected for years because I was still growing (which I know and understand lol) but now as I’m getting old enough to know I’m not growing anymore and I don’t plan on having kids anytime soon I restarted the process of getting my reduction. That started last year and it’s been slow getting appointments, that being said my most recent appointment was two months ago and they had told me I would be contacted about a surgery date within the next year but the surgery might not be for another 2 years at most.
I just got a call (a little over a month since that appointment) and the surgeon has had a cancellation in 3 days so has put me in last minute! I am so not prepared! But I need this! I have been reading everyone else’s posts about post op and pre op stuff but I’m so unprepared and kinda feel like I’m freaking out. This is also the first type of surgery I’ve ever had done, the biggest medical procedure I’ve ever had done so far was getting a baby tooth pulled out at the dentist.

What should I be prioritizing? Is there anything that I need to do beforehand to make it easier on myself? I feel like I’m not mentally prepared enough but I’ve wanted this and been waiting for this for so long that I can’t and won’t turn it down.

Anxious about surgery

Hi! This is my first time posting on here, or really ever on reddit.

I see a lot of people on this subreddit post about surgery anxieties and I was just curious if anyone could share personal experience with that. I’ve never gotten surgery before, nor been under anesthesia so I’m kinda freaked out. Plus, I just turned 18 so I’m still kinda young!

My surgery is next Wednesday, and don’t get me wrong I’m beyond excited. I suppose I’m just scared about the healing process and not being a size that I wanted. I spoke to my surgeons assistant and she said that being a C cup is reasonable (I am a 34G as of posting). I’m just scared I’ll be bigger than that, I just want pain relief you know?

I’m just getting caught up in the “what ifs” now that the surgery is so soon.

Any advice or personal experience would be more than welcome.

I just discovered this community! I am 2 years post breast reduction and ladies, it's the best decision you'll ever make.

I don't remember my exact size but I believe they were about a G cup. I am now a comfortable 40DD. If you think you need a reduction, I say do it! It's going to be the best decision you ever made! The only regret is you not doing it sooner. Just be prepared for your nipples to be constantly hard 🤣
