I don't think an Edmund & Violet story is needed

I seen something on Twitter that a violet and Edmund story is coming, I think it's going to be a limited series and I personally again. Me PERSONALLY. I don't think that is going to hit as hard, sure people are going to watch it duh it's violet but in my humble honest opinion there is literally nothing to tell in that story because people wanna be like, "oh, there are some details we don't know." we know the kids, we know how he died, we know how they met, just because we didn't see the scene. Violet has said it many of times how they met and we kind of understand the dynamic they had in the middle, so what is the point of the series they've shown too much. It would've been different if they left it ambiguous to how he died, we don't know the information that they gave us. We know how Violet was when she was younger. We kind of have an idea of how Edmond was even when he was younger. I just don't see the point in this series. Y'all help me understand maybe I'm missing something. Because compared to Charlotte, it made sense why they got a spinoff series because we wanted to know how he got to that point mentally, what was he dealing with? What did they deal with in their marriage? That was perfect for a spinoff, not violet and Edmond.

Anyone else a bit annoyed because they feel like this new spinoff is going to delay the next season?

I feel like the Queen Charlotte spinoff kind of delayed season 3 and now it feels like that's what's going to happen to season 5.

I hope they don't release Violet's spin off before Eloise's season

REASONS:

  1. Eloise is WAITING TOO LONG. Her season was already swapped, her character has a highlight since season 1, her love interest appeared before Hannah Dodd's Frabcesca even exist, so...why? It sound terrible;

  2. Eloise will need to have set up for her story, right? And it's likely to us to have a cliffhanger for another reasons I'll not extend myself to talk about. If they postpone it with a season, the timing will be so odd;

  3. The ideal moment, for me, would be after season 6 because of the next 2 leads, considering they're too young in our pov and we would see a time-skip and a larger space to we see him as adults;

  4. IF WE DON'T HAVE CHRIS FULTON BACK IN SEASON 5, THERE WILL BE ONE MORE FUCKING YEAR OF PEOPLE SPECULATING A RECAST, A DIFFERENT LOVE INTEREST AND I'M DONE OF THIS SHIT

Are people really mad about a Violet/Edmund spinoff?

QC was a success; we suspected this was coming; it was highly requested. The producers want to keep the entire Bridgerton franchise going for as long as they can, and they're gonna profit from how they rollout the next few seasons to the final 8th season in order to keep the momentum/drum up excitement.

I think there's very good reason to believe season 6 will be released after Violet/Edmund spinoff; I think there's a real chance that Hyacinth and Gregory's seasons could be the only ones to air after this spinoff. The spinoff serves as a separate hype to the main show, and for fans that maybe are less interested in the two youngest Bridgertons now, the Violet/Edmund spinoff could incite a new sense of excitement for them to tune in.

However I don't really get the intensity behind Eloise, tbh; all the constant discourse surrounding Eloise's future and what people want for her re: being a lesbian or a spinster or with Theo, etc...The writers have told us what/who her endgame are. Now with the fresh announcement of a Violet/Edmund spinoff, which could further delay Eloise's season, the valid disappointment is in full-force. I don't personally subscribe to the simplification that because her character is a fan-favorite, they want to keep people interested in the series by delaying her even longer. They're not holding Eloise off to keep viewers on the line; people who wanted Eloise to be the lesbian or be unmarried forever will be well aware of the plot by then or make themselves miserable by watching. She's going to marry a man, so what would be the anticipation for those same viewers when much of the online reaction is hate?

Violet and Edmund's spinoff doesn't affect Bridgerton's production plans (they've know these behind the scenes preparations and greenlight confirmations in advance). Season 6 is in pre-production. Season 3 was finished filming when QC was released. They're handled by different showrunners. So, the comments about Claudia Jessie "not being young forever" are unnecessary, as much as they are ageist.

Personally, I believe people are allowed to be disappointed about the possible delay of Eloise's season; but the worries aren't gonna change that. I was disappointed when Eloise wasn't season 5, but as soon as Francesca and Michaela were announced, there was nothing I could do.

Personally, I'm excited for Violet and Edmund's story, especially because I liked the way QC was done much better than the main show, and I'm not in agreeance with Jess' vision for a lot of characters' development.

violet and edmund prequel timeline

Now that they’ve officially confirmed a Violet and Edmund prequel, how will they make it work with the timeline after she was shown as a teenager in the Queen Charlotte prequel? Unless of course they retcon Queen Charlotte to have taken place in the 1780s rather than the 1760s, instead of making the majority of Violet’s pregnancies happen in very advanced maternal age. Young Violet’s inclusion in Queen Charlotte gave me a headache knowing they were going to cash in on a Violet and Edmund prequel eventually, and I just couldn’t see how it could work with the show timeline.
