Sharing my work in its new clothes

The painting is now in its final form from sketch to completion the Governor wears new clothes (aka the Swahili frame) here are some process photos of its creation.
While painting this within a short time span, I lost my uncle, injured my back and celebrated my birthday and through it all I kept thinking of the theme of this work, Self-governance and the ability to hold space for emotions while stewarding your internal landscape.
It's funny how as humans, one moment we experience the depths of grief and the next, your sharing laughter over the shared struggle and how at one moment, we are calm and the next, we are at war with ourselves, the Trojan horses we once let in wreaking havoc on our lands... I forget my point but check out the painting and let me know what you think ☺️

New Calligraphy Art

First of my new original character designs "Pot Head". Craft shops don't let me sell my artwork that has characters from shows and films unless I have permission from the creators, so I thought id try and come up with some characters of my own 😃 hope you like them ☺️

I still don’t love my bg but I love the lil creatures that arrive. Wip still

Still experimenting. And sharing my results. It’s easy to use a leaf as a stamp which is fun, but I think I go a lil nuts :)
#3 - title - briar bunny

Up cycling jeans.

The crab and giraffe only cost around $5 AUS to make. I get patterns from Etsy or old magazines. The results are always good. It cost about $20 to do the larger dragon. I’m looking for ideas to do more.

work in progress

I've always been a huge fan of the Dracula mythology, from the historical inspiration of Vlad the Impaler to the modern stories told through literature and film, including Mel Brooks' Dracula: Dead and Loving It! .. this current progress represents about 9 hours of drawing and shows how I experiment with the process as I contemplated filling in one of the sockets of the skull .. the main outline is now complete and I will move onto adding interior details, texture and shadows .. thanks for following along .. have a great rest of your day

Poppy Tree, Monarch Fern & Devils tongue creatures

I’m studying flora lore & language of flowers and maybe using that knowledge into my lil creatures. I need to remember to ID them before I glue them down.

different vibe today - I try to not post so often - I just love seeing what kind of creatures materialize

I’m unintentionally early retired cause my industry is struggling. But good news is Ive discovered making these and sharing them is the best part :)
