Cathay army help
My LGS is starting a path to glory campaign starting from 500. I have 0 experience playing and I made a list with some help and would like some feedback on it. For example I’m still undecided on the peasants as screening units of 10 with spear or use them with bows or as a big blob of 20. In addition, I have way to much Cathay in boxes still.. so many options before even starting to paint, I could use some help if I’m in the right direction.

my Terracotta Sentinel has a big brother. 💪
I have my fantasy thatin the future I will have a different sentinel miniature for every version. Since I don't really want to have the same miniature 5 times I was browsing the web for some nice sculpts.
For now we have a Terracotta and a new Granite Sentinel. 😁

Can you give me some ideas what this guy could be carrying in this open bag in the middle? I have no idea how to paint the contents. At first I thought those roundish things could be meatballs,but that makes no sense 🤣 maybe herbs and spices? Gimme your thoughts.

My first game against ogres
The two empire guys are proxies for the astromancer and gate master respectively my fire rain rocket battery and lancer unit crushed them on one side of the board then flanked behind his hero unit and I had him pinned three ways! It was a great victory for the grand Cathay I had so much fun I found I love old world much more then 40K

New ranged units any good?
Hey all! Not a Cathay player myself, but I have pre-ordered the Ironhail/Crane-gunner box for when it comes out next week. I am a commission converter, and will be using the bodies as part of a build I'm very keen to work on, but that will mean I have a lot of the other components spare to potentially make something else, or move on to others that could use them themselves! So, long story short, are one of the units better than the other, are either any good/sought after, and do you think there would be people who would want, say, the blunderbusses to convert up their own existing minis (jade warriors or peasants) to the ironhails?
Been loving some of the work yall are doing on here btw, such a great range!

Shugengan Lord without wings
When I mounted the first of the two that I have on the list, I saw that I liked it much more without wings and I think it fits more with the Chinese dragon style that is Miao Ying (which I have thought of painting as Mushu de Mulan hahahaha)

So I'm playing at. 1250 point , would like some feedback on the below .
Opponent wise there's zero cannons in the factions I'll be facing , a decent amount of undead armies , elves and chaos aligned forces .
The sentinel is there to support along side the jade warriors .
Peasants mainly to sit back in skirmish and pepper stuff .
And due to the higher amount of horde armies the mag on lantern for the higher shot volume .
Lots of regen in the armies I'll be facing so I've taken the magic sword on the shun .
