Raiders roll! - Finally my box arrived and I couldn't wait to paint Jimmy and his flying friend...
First lesson learned about StarCraft TMG Marines: paint the head before glueing.
Also black is a b*tch to capture on camera.
How to tackle Marine (and Raynor) heads?
This may be a stupid question but the way the pieces are meant to go together you have to glue the head in before the marine is fully assembled.
If I paint the head before the rest of the mini I'd need to prime the mini and risk covering the head with color and when masking the head leaving blank spots where the masking "overspills".
If I glue the head in beforehand it is a hassle to paint (made that mistake on Raynor and his head is even more exposed than that of a standard Marine)
Is the release strategy/schedule a mess?
I am a bit taken back since a lot of players already bought their boxes at Adepticon, and some have already shipped from Archon directly to customer as well afaik?
So Wave 2 is already set for June/July according to the road map and there is NO info whatsoever when stores get the preordered Founders. Iirc it was said that overseas gets it before Europe is served and I do not have a single idea how that impacts delivery. Will the boxes arrive in June, July, August, September? Who knows...certainly not my dealer who does know less than me since he does not lurk on reddit.
When something like "shipping in April/May" is proclaimed as a customer I expect delivery latest in the first 2 weeks of June...especially from a company on the same continent and in the same group of countries (the EU). It's not like I have other hobbies, plan around financially across releases and if it's summer maybe also want to take off a day or two to enjoy hobbying.
My gut tells me that I won't see my box until wave 3 should hit shelves.
It feels like one gets punished because they stay loyal to their FLGS and want to keep the money where they actually play while direct customers get it sooner.
Anybody has a good substitute that scratches a similar itch? I read sometimes Andy Weir is a good substitute and while I binged "Project Hail Mary" in three days it was way different (but extremely good)
