The site would rely entirely on its own characters. Registered users could create their own characters and share them with the community.

Community-created + imported characters

The site would allow users to create their own characters, **while also actively searching for characters from multiple other sites**, so users can have a large selection of active characters to interact with, even if their creators are not registered on the site.This means that if you have characters that Belongs you with evidence and you are not registered, you will need to call the help center to have them implanted. Clone characters will be automatically deleted.

Chattica is designed and reviewed by humans, tested by a 12 person team of industry veterans and built with agentic development tools. AI writes most of the implementation: UI, features, refactors, debugging but it does so to our design, our documentation and is tested within an inch of its life before any new or modified code touches production.

Architecture, data model, security decisions, feature scope, and every release call stay with me. I understand what goes in before it ships.

👤 Developer Experience

My background is tier 2/3 SaaS support, working directly with engineering teams and writing the detailed bug reports they worked from. That's where I learned to reproduce issues reliably, isolate root causes, and tell the difference between a symptom and an actual problem, which is most of what keeps a shipped app stable.

Our Lead Designer is a Behavioral Scientist specialized in narrative identity and former employee of Obsidian Entertainment.

Chattica has been live and actively maintained since December 2025, through two major versions and weekly patches, with every release, store submission, and support ticket handled in house.

🔍 Code Review & Testing

Every change goes through code review before merge, and I test on-device on both platforms before release. I also have an internal beta team that gets builds ahead of public launch. Bug reports come in through Discord and store reviews and get turned around fast. Both apps pass Apple and Google review on every submission.

🔒 Security & Data Handling

API keys are not stored in ordinary app preferences. On iOS, Chattica uses Keychain. On Android, credentials are encrypted in app-private storage using keys protected by Android Keystore.

Chattica has no advertising or general-purpose product analytics SDK, and no integrated third-party crash reporter such as Sentry or Crashlytics. Crash diagnostics stay on the device unless you explicitly export or share them. RevenueCat receives purchase and entitlement information for billing and restoration, not your chats, characters, images, or API keys.

Chats, characters, images, and settings remain local. Current releases do not upload or cloud-sync app content. Cloud sync is planned alongside the desktop release and will be opt-in, off by default, with your own private storage rather than my servers.

Payments are handled by Apple and Google, so I never see card data. No account required to use the app.

I just absolutely despise c.au b3cause all the bots either don't agree with gore or do actions for me or force me to do something or they just circle around the same action.

I'm just curious tbh. Are you still using it? is it good?

A lot of people on the main subreddit complain about not being able to use Marvel/Disney bots, but there’s an easy fix to this. You can just use the Blank Slate/Free Roleplay/Story maker bots. Those will allow you to start any story you want, no limitations. It’ll also be easier to switch character POVs.

Hi, Has it ever happened to someone to still see some bots of an account that has disappeared (deleted or banned) but not all of them ?

Let me explain :

Yesterday I was chatting with a bot, I took a 15-minute break and when I came back the bot was marked as deleted. Out of curiosity I wanted to access the creator's profile to see if c.ai has deleted the bot or if it was the creator who had deleted his account. When I want to access the creator's profile I get the following error message:

"The creator you are looking for does not exist"

but I still see some of his other bots that were in my history and I can always talk to them. Someone has an explanation. (Other profiles still work) but the one I was using just says chat error. I can’t even see the chat

Edit : Currently 2 bots are marked as deleted (from the same creator). The one I was talking to (let’s call him bot 1) and another (bot 2).

Out of curiosity I wanted to access the control centre and I was able to access the history, and I can always send messages but it only works with bot2. When I try with bot1 it gives me back the history of the 2.

I don’t understand at all
