RSR Down SUS springs finally installed🔥

Just installed my RSR Down SUS last night, was a pain in the ass but so worth it. I think the these are more than enough of a drop, I don’t know how you guys ride comfortably in the super-downs lol but to each their own.

These are actually the springs for the sedan, so if anybody is curious, yes you can put the ones for the sedan on the hatchback. The spring rates for the rear are the same but for the front it’s only 0.08kg/mm more for the hatch springs. Fits totally fine and haven’t had any problems.

Pricing on a Corolla FX?

Hey all, I have a dealership offering me what looks like $30,500 just about, out the door for a 2026 Corolla Hatchback FX. Is this a good deal? They didn't quite give me much room for bargaining, so I am curious what you all think would be a good OTD price for this vehicle

Parking proximity alerts 2026 xse

Is there a setting that will make a beeping sound if I get to close to backing up into an object while parking? I'm not seeing it in the settings and I think I've enabled all of the sensors.

Parking malfunction

I was wondering if anyone know how to remove/correct the parking brake malfunction warning. Was working on rear rotors and brakes and forgot to put it in service mode until it was too late.

New (to me) wheels

I needed new summers for this season so I have been watching marketplace and bumped into these used but minty Monza Japan wheels (not sure the exact style) for 500cad (~360usd) 18x7.5 +42, very happy with them, nice and light, just waiting for new rubber now. I'll for sure post a pic when I got them on the car.

Hong Kong hatch

Honestly not sure if it was a GR or not since it’s VERY common to put badges for anything and everything here in Hong Kong; but I did like the looks of this car…so I’m sharing with you.

Replacing wireless charger with compartment tray.

Decided to get rid of the shitty wireless charger and replace it with the center console compartment tray that comes on the corollas without the charger. I found it on eBay for about $30s if anyone is interested in doing the same, really easy to swap.

Part Number: 58831-12010

First car wash after getting new set of rims.

Finally got a set of rims on her after almost 2 years of ownership. Plan on lowering about 1inch with the RSR lowering springs next.

First Clutch Line Flush

Bought a 2021 6MT Corolla Hatch XSE used a month ago with 64,100 miles and just did first clutch line flush at 65,600 miles. Yuck. Can’t believe how dark the fluid came out. 🥴

Coilovers vs Lowering Springs + TEIN Struts for daily commute only?

Was wondering if anyone has insight on how the two compare. Price isn't a huge factor if it means I will get a better ride experience on my daily commute, but don't know if its worth it to spend the extra. I do not ever plan on taking it on the track or anything serious, mainly for aesthetics. My goal is to be as comfortable as possible while being lower.

For reference, I was considering rsr super lows and tein struts (will cost me about $700) vs coilovers from tein, revel, silvers, apexi or bc ($900-$1400)

Review of the Remark Quiet Spec Quad Exhaust

Installed the Remark Quiet Spec Quad Exhaust (RK-C4063T-01Q) on my 2020 Corolla Hatch, below are my thoughts:

The removal of the stock exhaust was quite easy, I used a DIY video for the regular (louder) version of the Remark Exhaust for instructions. I soaked the necessary bolts in WD-40 overnight and the bolts were easy to remove despite minor rust (over the course of 6 winters). Exhaust hangers were a pain to remove so I do recommend using the clamp method, or getting the specific exhaust hanger removal tool if needed. For install I used the same DIY video above as well as this one. The bumper did require cutting and there is still some more cutting and filing for me to do (problem for the future). The exhaust hangers for the drivers side does keep slipping so I had to add metal zip ties to prevent the movement at the end of the hanger. The height difference from left double tips and right double tips has some variance, and if walk up to the hatch and look down, the driver's side does poke out a bit more. Fit and finish is not all there especially given the price, however you will have to DIY a better fitment (e.g. with metal zip ties, hose clamp, etc.).

In terms of sound, I bought this one specifically because it looks nice, and from Remark's videos it sounded a lot quieter than the sport version. They advertised little to no drone during cruising which is absolutely true I can still hear my music just fine, or have conversations inside the car. But when I drop a gear its nice to hear the extra oomph even if it doesn't have the power to back the sound.

The price is a little steep so there is something to consider there. However the exhaust fell right into my strike zone and I was waiting for something exactly like this, therefore to me it was absolutely worthwhile.

So long old friend…

I know it’s not technically a Corolla Hatchback, but a Corolla iM. Still…tomorrow we part. Growing family demands more space, so I’m moving up to a 26 Camry SE. This car took such good care of me and will be sorely missed. Thank you old friend!

What oil do y’all use on 2023+?

It says 0W-8 for my Wife’s 2023 XSE, but that’s incredibly thin. My old 21 XSE took at least 0W-16 I believe, and it’s literally the exact same engine. Has anyone been using 0W-16 or even 0W-20 long term with good results? I definitely want to run thicker oil.
