Tips for a project I want to do?

Hi everyone!

I'm wanting to make my room look similar to these pictures. I have high ceilings that i cant rlly drill into or reach, even with my step stool or on my bed. because of this, ive had a hard time figuring out how to drape the fabrics. Ive also thrifted some decent fabric to use, but nothing right up this ally. im wondering if i should do a sheer fabric or maybe tule?? im still trying to make it relatively cost effective. that is all beside the point though!I am mainly looking for tips or maybe some products i can use to get the drapey look in my room without access to the ceiling. maybe rods for a makeshift canopy???

Anything is appreciated!!!! Thank you.

Help, ideas wanted

First post on Reddit, hoping to get some guidance on how I might fill this weird little space in my living room. Thoughts?

Would you beadboard the hallway of a 1950’s house (in Australia) currently with plain walls.

Waning a classic look with modern twist.
Thinking wide headboards, 90cm, with a picture rail on top. All white for best lighting.
Bit like the photo.

My gut tells me it will be a great refresh, but also concerned this is a decade long trend that will eventually age badly!

help me build my dream house

I have purchased this apartment, and I now want to refurnish it and renovate the bathroom. The only thing I cannot change or move is the kitchen. The bathroom layout shown in this floor plan is how I would like it structured. Currently, the toilet, bidet, and sink are all on the same side (the right side), with the shower on the left side right as you enter. Overall, this floor plan shows the arrangement of items as I'd like them to be, but I would love to get your feedback and advice to see if this is truly the best layout, along with any general tips or suggestions on details I could consider, and any interior design help is greatly appreciated, budget, is kinda high but not infinite, lets say, 10k-15k € max.
sorry for the bad pictures, i took a video, without including the bathroom, hope you guys can understand

At what point do I stop guilting every flat surface?

My intention was to add the odd splash of gold throughout my flat, in each room to pull them all together.... and then I covered the toilet in gold leaf, then the bath panel, then sewed a custom shower curtain, and since then I have lived with flecks of gold leaf everywhere (I shimmer constantly)

Just did our living room. Feedback welcome

Created a coffee + travel corner as well. Especially love the memory pinboard. It contains tickets, polaroids and other moments from our travels. Pictures can be rotated here as and when needed. Wall over sofa has mostly handmade stuff - some made myself and other collected while travelling. Need to add more planters and couple of more lamps and a rug to bring the place together. Any other feedback welcome.

The coffee station table and dining table set is from local market.

Sofa is completely diy’d. Pallets sourced from kabadiwala. Sanitised, sanded, painted ourselves. Got the foam, cut that to size and then got cover stitched locally. Happy to give any other info needed.

Need Help Finding a Print to Cover This (Not Painting Over it)

We have this GIANT patch of yellow paint left behind from the old owner of this house. The previous owners landlord specialed around where a giant American flag used to hang, so now theres this huge noticeable patch on the wall (151in x 66in). Ive looked everywhere for multi canvas options or giant canvases and found nothing that size. I need help finding a print big enough to cover it, similar vibe to the paintings I attached. Thank you in advance!

Edit:

We’ve succumbed and decided to paint over it, still not entirely sure what to put on it after though.

A big painting would be super cool in theory, but it’s just not possible. :(

3 days, a warped veneer disaster, and a snake’s head that nearly broke my patience — my most challenging marquetry piece yet

Finished this one after three very long days. I say "days" but honestly it was more like three nights — I kept telling myself "just one more scale" and then it'd be 2am.

Materials: purpleheart, two kinds of walnut, cherry, and ash.

Halfway through I ran into a problem — some of the veneer had picked up moisture and warped slightly, which threw off the fit on a few of the pattern pieces. Had to pull them back out and recut. Not fun when you're already deep into a piece and just want to keep moving forward.

The real patience test was the head though. All those tiny scales, tight curves, everything has to line up or the whole thing just looks off. There were a couple points where I genuinely considered leaving it "good enough," but I'm glad I didn't.

Now that it's done, the part I keep staring at is actually the color. That purpleheart has this natural purple that gives off a kind of mysterious, almost regal vibe — no stain or dye, that's just the wood. And the ash catches the light with this subtle metallic shimmer that makes the pattern pop way more than I expected. Those two together are honestly why I keep walking past it and stopping to look.

Framed it in a dark stained wood to let the colors pop a bit more.

Would love to hear what you think, and if anyone's dealt with veneer warping before — is there a good way to pre-treat it so this doesn't happen again?

Please help

I finally moved into a bigger apartment after many years in a too-small condo. I am naturally a creative person but I feel like life and stress has taken over. I would love to have a homey living room but with a bit of whimsy.
But before I can do that, I have no idea where to even begin! have no idea what to put where, especially the TV. Over the fireplace seems ideal, but after reading, it’s not a great idea. I appreciate any help, this was something that I looked forward to for years, so I really want to make it look like a home. It’s been several weeks since I moved in and the disorganization is mentally affecting me.
Thanks in advance!

What type of arch do you prefer?

There is something about an arch that can completely define a space.

Here, the sculptural, Moorish-inspired arch creates a sense of arrival before you ever reach the front door. We softened the architecture with warm plaster, honed travertine floors, aged bronze, rich wood and just a few carefully chosen pieces, allowing the form of the space to remain the focus.

We love the tension between the historic influence of the arch and the quieter, more contemporary palette surrounding it.

What type of arch do you prefer?

A soft Mediterranean arch, a classic Roman arch, a Moorish scalloped arch like this one, or something much simpler and more modern?

Kumiko Sliding Door Cabinet made on Altmill 4X8 :)

Designed in Fusion360 and cut mainly on the Altmill 4x8. Sanding the pockets was way more tedious than I was expecting 😅

Looking for ideas on how to use an umbrella as decor

I recently bought an honestly pretty cute umbrella in an emergency. I'm not gonna use it again because it looks flimsy and it's windy here, so I thought I could keep it as a decorative umbrella. It's translucent with colour drawings of Paris (yes, cheesy, I know 😅).

Does anyone have ideas?
