2. Why bother doing Hammam? (Benefits)

An extensive hammam routine takes 2-3 hours, so you might be wondering "why even bother doing all of that every week?". Well, bcs it is 100% natural and will really help you with all the skin issues like: discoloration, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, scars, ingrowns or razor bumps and dry skin.

Yes, if you stay consistent you can actually get rid of stretch marks, I guarantee you that 100%. This is how it will progress: imagine on white skin a deep purple stretch mark, it will first lose it's colour and turn pink then brown and then over time the pigmentation will completely fade away and it will return to the original skintone again. The skin will also become tighter (the earlier you treat a new stretch mark, the better it will disappear). Then, the only trace that will remain, is a fine white line bcs that is the tissue-deep damage, but it is barely visible and depending on how big the stretch mark was, you won't even feel a difference in skin-texture (ofc that also depends on the bodypart).

After the hammam your skin will feel tingly and it will slightly sting but nothing painful, just a bit uncomfortable if you have sensitive skin (body masks reduce the discomfort greatly). But that is good, bcs that's when the skin repairs itself, it's similar to the concept of microneedling, except way better for the skin and without any risks.

Do this hammam routine the day before you remove your bodyhair, or if you are not accustomed to it, you might need to add another restday. That's one of the steps to prevent ingrowns or strawberry skin btw.

Furthermore, bcs of the lymphatic fluid drainage and massage during the hammam, things like spiderweb veins, cellulites and overall your skin texture and appearance will improve over time, you just have to be patient and stay consistent.

Lastly, it makes your skin super soft and supple. You'll feel fresh and smell good, so it is definitely worth the effort.

DIY hair serum (+ my most unhinged hair growth hack)

So I personally don't like to oil the length of my hair for various reasons unfortunately it just isn't the best for my hair. I think it might have to do with hair porosity. But I still want the benefits of hair oiling bcs it is insane for hair growth mashaaAllah. That's why I focus on scalp-oiling instead, it is much easier to wash out as opposed to oiling the full length of hair. [Let me know how you use hair oils 🐳].

I believe the best oils for the scalp (not the length!) are the following:

  • Castor oil
  • Peanut oil
  • Argan oil
  • Sesame oil
  • Pumpkin seed oil
  • Jojoba oil

A little bit of black seed oil, I used 2 pipettes of it (you can see it in the 2nd picture)

For 50ml I aim for 4-10 drops of essential oils, depending on how sensitive your scalp is. 15 drops is the max in my experience.

  • 1 drop mint essential oil
  • 3 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops rosemary essential oil

I think it is easiest if you have an applicator like a roll-on or a fine pump bottle where you can put it directly on the scalp when sectioning your hair.

Okay now to the unhinged hair growth hack. It is super controversial and parts of the internet would insult me for it and I fear I will get some hate msg for it again, but it works really well, I promise 😂.

So basically it is scalp exfoliation followed by scalp oiling, but I do it like this: I take a bath and soak my head underwater for like 25min and then I gently run my fingernails over my scalp. I don't scratch my skin. But rather I drag them over the skin at a 35° angle or even so that the fingers are almost parallel to the scalp, so you don't damage the skin. Then I wash my hair and afterwards apply my hair serum on the scalp.

Btw the bathwater, don't use any bathingsalts bcs it messes up your hair texture! Instead, I focus on detoxing the scalp by adding Ghassoul (or any clay) and Sidr powder to it.

My non-controversial hairgrowth hack: every night before going to sleep let your head hang down your bed and put your legs up in the air. This helps with lympathic drainage and bloodcirculation. Bonus, if you can massage your scalp with Gua Sha tools 🥰

All purpose-cleaner, I use it mainly for wiping surfaces.

Basically it's just castile soap, I would say approximately 1 tbsp and then 10 drops essential oils, best would be lemon or other citurs ones, bcs they remove grease. In a spraybottle, fill it up with water and shake it well. Then I add distilled vinegar (see the gap that's missing in the bottle? That's how much vinegar I add).

You have to add it in this order, otherwise the vinegar would curdle the soap 🫡.

I think this spray is perfect to keep in the washroom, bcs you can wipe down the toilet seat, instead of using sanitiser everytime and then everything smelling like ethanol 😮‍💨.
