–“Can you look after my bag? I'll be right back” –“Yess ofc, I'll be here for a while”

When u r at the skl library, or in the lunch area, or at the masjid, and u have to go somewhere but u have some of belongings — maybe ur laptop, ur bag, ur phone on charge, or ur coat and scarf — u look around for someone 👀 maybe a feind near by who can look after ur things or save u ur chair while u go to the loo. If they say “yess,” then a feeling of security and reassurance comes in and now u r able to go and do what u need to do and be right back. Right?

U k that if something or someone were to harm it they would take care of it, we feel secure that whatever it is that's ours is under someone's watch– therefore looked after.

Now, what if u really couldn't find someone, either u would bring all that with u or leave it there. Let's say u leave it. How would u feel? on ur way to wherever u need to go, u would feel stressed right? That literally anything could happen to it, u just don't k, and the thing is…. U DO NOT ABSOLUTELY!!! EVER!!! LEAVE THE THINGS IMPORTANT TO U IN A PLACE OF DANGER, NOT LOOKED AFTER.

-We r the property of الله سبحانه و تعالى so just like u wouldn't want to leave ur belongings out of sight الله سبحانه و تعالى is always watching over u

  • the relief u feel when u k the things that are dear to u are under ur watch or someone's watch is the relief u should feel in regards to u and الله سبحانه و تعالى bc he is AL MALIK and u r his property so u r under his watch and care.

This highk also means that we should strive to be special abds of allah– His friends, bc vip pl get a vip treatment

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah said: Whoever shows hostility to a friend of Mine, I have declared war upon him. My servant does not grow closer to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the duties I have imposed upon him. My servant continues to grow closer to Me with extra good works until I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask something from Me, I would surely give it to him. Were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant it to him. I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to displease him.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6502 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Bukhari

Al-Ahad and hearts

We are not the rab (care taker) of everyone, yet when we see someone go through something sad, we feel for them greatly and wish to help them. It's good to help and feel that way. However it becomes overburdening when u think of the other countless pl u cannot help, or dont k what they r going thorough, or when u dont k their emotions and immense sorrow to be able to help. Ur love and care for others has a limit, and sometimes that can be painful to accept, that you really want to help or understand someone, sometimes u really wanna hug someone and make them feel good, sometimes u really want put ur hands in the mud and fix something; put it together. But u cant, that is the reality.

U come to realise that Allah is one, while the intricate hearts of every individual belonging to all different eras and time are many but all known to Allah. And it is Allah, Al- Ahad the one and only one who knows all their hearts, all their dreams, all their sorrows and…… everything…. So we turn to Al-Ahad in reliance and as a refuge, because he is the ultimate carer.

I am not able to explain it. I want to say that while i dont even k my own heart, Allah, Al- Ahad knows all the hearts there r in the world, all the hearts that will come and all the hearts that have come, and all the emotions anyone can ever exercise, and truly… emotions are the heaviest thing in the world, it’s the most precious, it's the most beautiful and evil thing in the world, and Al-Ahad knows it all. While hearts are many he is one. To understand the gravity of Allah being one, all u have to try to wrap ur head around is how many of us there are in the world.

Understanding Allah is one, you gain a new found peace. So all ur attention, love and all ur heart can turn to Him only. U realise He is the possessor of all hearts, so y chase for the hearts of His Abds while He is the Rabb of all the hearts? U gain a new found possessiveness over ur heart, u don't want it to be for anyone other than Allah. U develop gheerah, a protectiveness over any piece of ur heart not being for Allah alone. With this comes a new found company too. We all want someone to k us, someone to understand us, and someone to keep an eye for us. A parent may do that for us, or a friend, they might not be able to express it and tell u they do understand u, or when they keep an eye on u from a distance u might not k about it, it’s only when we come to see or know, or when they r able to express it to us that we realise that we r seen by them and love them in return. But what if you did not know that your mother never left the window until she saw you enter the bus at the bus stop, to make sure you were safe. It's like if the entire world were to love us but if we were not to k, we would feel depressed inside.

So then what about Allah, we k everything that happens to us is only by his permission? when He says that He sees and He hears and He knows everything in the heavens and earth, He surely knows us, and all the things that happens to us is surely due to Him, like imagine thanking and showering the postman for ur delivery that has a gift inside from someone while ignoring the person who sent it to u. Our parents, siblings, friends, spouses and children are all postmen and postwomen to each other and the one who sent us to each other is Allah, so it is silly for us to not love Him. So when He tells us that do x y z and Allah will surely love u, and u k His love is the greatest, so why not chase for it, be upset to not get it, and stop caring about other pl and how much they r able to love u?

table analogy

Table Analogy

Imagine a teacher came into class with a box full of stationary, sweets, toys to fidget with, board games and all sorts of things.

He gives each student something out of his wish; someone might get one sweet and the other 2 pens and a book, the other 4 fidget toys and another student 1of each item. He places the item/s on the student's tables.

The teacher then says they all have 10 mins to use them and play with them as he wishes. IT’S THEIR, IT’S THEIR BELONGING AND THEY OWN IT..

So if someone got 10 notebooks they can either scribble on all of them, write on only one, or give it someone else to draw on it for the 10 mins– LITERALLY ANYTHING

now…

1-  its not bc of their grades that they got more or less things from the teacher

2- yh, unfortunately some students did cry and fight over things that would only have been theirs for 10 mins 😭😭😭. Like I know it was stupid bc its really not their's  but khalas

3- Another thing the students did which was very silly too was to feel boastful over some special and cool things they had that their friends might not have gotten and jealous of what others got that they didn't have.

4- Kids being kids, they looked around a lot. One student got up from their seat and stood on it so they could scan the room to spot the coolest thing someone got and check it out or maybe his intention was to find out if he was the only one who had an IPhone on his table so rightfully could show off– He really really wanted to keep it for himself and not give it back to the teacher.

5- but the cool thing was that there was a student in the back row that was really not bothered by the drama he was seeing. He didn't feel like boasting that he actually had a Samsung Galaxy S25 (cuz samsungs are better ofc 💅🏼), he knew it wasn't anything he earned ofc, like how could he have? He also didn't feel jealousy towards others because he also understood that just like for him, it was the teacher who gave it to them and was going to take it away in a bit.

6- Okay, the last cool thing was that this student saw his friend sad about what was going on so told him nicely that all this does not matter—  they were the most calm and chillest students in the class.

After 10 mis the teacher came and took his things away from all of them.

Now…

student- u

Teacher‐ الله سبحانه و تعالى

Table- ur rizk

10 mins- ur life time

The calm student?- ur friend (choosing friends wisely is important and aim to be that mature friend )

🤍 What mattered was what the state of the students’ hearts was during this 10 mins and it's final state. 🤍

In this life when we look at pl, their height, their face, health, education, wealth and anything else they have is just what's on their ‘tables’. We all have given ‘tables’ with goods on them. But its not something we can look at to be proud of ourselves ( feel high and mighty ) about or feel saddened and jealous. Don't stand on the chair to look for what others got, it literally does not matter.

What matters is the heart which we can't see hence judge a person by.  When u look at someone u can only see their  ‘tables’ not their heart.

When others look at u and think u r a very knowledgeable person, think to urself that that they are only seeing what's on the table, plus the knowledge came from الله سبحانه و تعالى just like the teacher gave the students things. Say to urself  “they don't k my heart” so that u may not feel ego and remind urself that u know the real state of ur heart better. Do the same when u look at what someone else, it may be that their strong passion for the deen at a young age makes u feel sad about urself bc it took u long to come to Islam, but remind urself that the time given to each of us in this world is different and again that's a matter of what's on the table so be happy for that sister or brother as u love for them what u would have loved for urself so just don't let things get to u and compare urself with others bc everyone gets different ‘tables’ but what matters is the state if our heart in seeing them. Otherwise u would be like Billy the silly crying In class while everyone is looking at him, who thinks something big happened but really it's nothing . EVERYTHING BELONGS TO ALLAH

just like the student couldn't keep his iPhone, this world is not something we can keep. So don't stress over looks, try to be the most beautiful In jannah cuz that's in ur hand, try to have the most land in jannah cuz that's in ur hand, try to be the most wealthy in jannah cuz that's in ur hand and yh…. :)

the person who wrote this, the Muslim u pass by on the street and say salam to, ur mom, ur dad, ur siblings, everyone around u is in a competition with u in being more closer and more loved by الله سبحانه و تعالى, so chop chop, get cracking, what u doing?

Oh also go do volunteering at funeral services in ur local area, train how to give ghusu mayyitl if u can– it truly changes u. U don't have to be too old, as long as ur mature they can let u in, contact the Masjid who does it and ask them how u could get started. They want young pl to join and they would love to have u, they wanna pass on the knowledge to the next generation bc there is a lot that goes on.

Be in the remembrance of death reader across the screen.

So in conclusion u got ego? U got jelousy? Think of tables

الحب في الله

To say "I love you for the sake of Allah" in Arabic, you would say:

  • To a girl: "أحبك في الله" (uhibbuki fi Allah)
  • To a guy: "أحبك في الله" (uhibbuka fi Allah)
  • To a group of girls: "أحبكن في الله" (uhibbukunna fi Allah)
  • To a group of guys (or a mixed group): "أحبكم في الله" (uhibbukum fi Allah)
  • To two girls: "أحبكما في الله" (uhibbukuma fi Allah)
  • To two males: "أحبكما في الله" (uhibbukuma fi Allah)

being a muhsin

So u k how u cannot be a mumin if u r not a muslim and a muhsin if u r not a mumin, they r like levels that come one after another so u gotta complete each to go to the next one. (refere to this hadith- https://www.abuaminaelias.com/dailyhadithonline/2014/01/25/jibreel-islam-iman-ihsan/)

There r many ahadith that say u cannot be a mumin unless x y z one of them being:

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “You will not enter Paradise until you have faith, and you will not have faith until you love each other. Shall I tell you something that, if you did, you would love each other? Spread peace between yourselves.”  Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 54 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim

The arabic word used was "tu'minu" - iman

Anyways there r more ahadith like that on having to show good manners towards pl + this one:

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “None of you have faith until I am more beloved to him than his children, his father, and all of the people.”  Source:  Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 15, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 44 Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim

Y did I mention the above hadith?
Bc good manners towards the Prophet ﷺ is that we love him more than any other person or thing.

Okai what do we learn?
That the level of being a mumin entails that we show good manners to the creation of الله سبحانه و تعالى it's only then, when we have perfected it that we can level up and show excellent manners towards الله سبحانه و تعالى which is to pray as if u see him or that he sees u.

Bc how can u achieve ihsan if u lack adab towards ur parents? They have less demand on u than الله سبحانه و تعالى, if u can't even fulfill that then how can u fulfill manners towards someone mightier?

Also let me give an example:

There is a wife who loves to garden and plant flowers and the husband does not like flowers and all this gardening. However if he were to see a flower has fallen or broken or weak he would take care of it right? Tho he dislikes them. Not bc he suddenly loved flowers but that the flowers r beloved to his beloved. So he takes care of them.
Same way when الله سبحانه و تعالى is our beloved we take care of His creation bc it's HIS CREATION.

Ibn Umar reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people. The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or remove one of his troubles, or forgive his debt, or feed his hunger. That I walk with a brother regarding a need is more beloved to me than that I seclude myself in this mosque in Medina for a month. Whoever swallows his anger, then Allah will conceal his faults. Whoever suppresses his rage, even though he could fulfill his anger if he wished, then Allah will secure his heart on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever walks with his brother regarding a need until he secures it for him, then Allah Almighty will make his footing firm across the bridge on the day when the footings are shaken.”
Source: al-Mu’jam al-Awsaṭ lil-Ṭabarānī 6026 Grade:  Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani

Anyways, after so much hard work and giving everyone their due right and showing good manners towards them, u finally achieve ihsan, the best of manners towards الله سبحانه و تعالى
What's ur reward?

"his sins would depart leaving him (as innocent) as he was on the day his mother bore him." Mentioned in this beautiful long hadith https://sunnah.com/muslim:832

Now to wrap things up

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, I have only been sent to perfect righteous character.”  Source: Musnad Aḥmad 8952 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Arna’ut

Good manners towards who? الله سبحانه و تعالى and his creation

Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the most beloved and nearest to my gathering on the Day of Resurrection are those of you with the best character. Verily, the most reprehensible of you to me and the furthest from my gathering on the Day of Resurrection will be the pompous, the braggarts, and the pretentious.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, we know the pompous and the braggarts, but who are the pretentious?” The Prophet said, “The arrogant.”  Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2018 Grade: Hasan (fair) according to Al-Tirmidhi

Anyone can love الله سبحانه و تعالى but not everyone can show good manners towards Him like the sahaba who was loved by the Prophet ﷺ who loved الله سبحانه و تعالى too but he would drink a lot. Or like our parents Adam and Hawah peace be upon them who ofc loved الله سبحانه و تعالى but then once failed to uphold good manners towards Him. So.... الله سبحانه و تعالى with all His wisdom made it so that we shall be on earth with the purpose of perfecting our manners and those with the best manners shall be in the highest ranks in jannah

That's the conclusion of life and death

The Sovereignty (67:2)
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -

good deeds = manners. How?  What if I do a good deed but it's with riya? Minor shirk, is that a good adab towards الله سبحانه و تعالى?

Btw someone might ask “the hadith you gave at the end was referring to prayer and ablution tho, how does it make sense?

cuz it says "and shows wholehearted devotion to Allah" whats that? Does it exclude or include ihsan?

Considering:
Ammar ibn Yasir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, a man may return from his prayer and nothing good is written for him but a tenth of his prayer, or a ninth, or an eighth, or a seventh, or a sixth, or a fifth, or a fourth, or a third, or a half.” Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 796 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Arna’ut

So 10/10 would include ihsan

Also to add on to that, a manner of a student to their teacher is different than the manner of a child to their mother or father.

Same way the manners of a servant to their king is different for exmaple they have to follow the rules set by the king in their land

So الله سبحانه و تعالى is Al-Malik, we r in his kingdom and we r his servants, so our adab towards our Malik is that we learn his laws- fiqhh

Studying fiqh is our adab towards الله سبحانه و تعالى

And the Prophet ﷺ taught us it

So when the Prophet ﷺ says "I have been sent to perfect good character", in all his teaching u will find manners إن شاء الله ✌️

Story time ✌️

Lets say ur close friend invites u to their house, would u go?

Their house is a bit small and old, would u still go?

Okai its lowk kinda broken, would u still go?

U probs said “yeah”. Bc, i think we can agree that its not the house but about the one who is in it, right?

This is the same with jannah!

How?

Bc Jannah likewise is a place, the means through which u get to be with ur beloved Allah subhana wa ta’ala like the house is a means for u to be with ur friend.

There only came about love between u and ur friend bc u guys spent time knowing eachother, and from there u guys started loving each other and creating this deep relationship.

It's only bc of this love that u wanted to go see him in his house, if they were a stranger u would not have wanted to or felt a strong desire to.

Likewise, u cannot have this intense love which makes u desire to see Allah in jannah if u dont k who Allah is, what His names r, what does his book say and so on. The more u learn about Allah the more u will love Him and the more u would desire for Jannah.

I wanted to use this example to express the importance and value about learning about Allah

But now someone can ask, “but jannah is more beautiful, it has palaces, gardens and rivers?”

Yes it is, bc the one we r going to see there is not ur friend who can only welcome u with soo little food and soo little comfortable place to sit. The one who u r going to see in Jannah is Allah subhana wa ta’ala, He has infinite capability to honour u and make his beloved (hopefully us)  happy with soo much we r told about in the Quran and sunnah. Allah made jannah for his beloved and hell for His hated.

As for those who when they think about jannah, first and foremost think about its materialistic rewards or solely that, they r still good muslims, they desire the akhirah instead of this world- they r good pl- but they can be better, no? and want to get to jannah to see our beloved?

Cuz okai, lets say u wish jannah for x y z material, but what if later on in ur life u dont desire that thing any more and u r happy with what u have? So ur desire for jannah is reduced?

And we learn:

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah has ninety-nine names. Whoever preserves them will enter Paradise.”
Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 7392, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2677 Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim

praising others

Narrated Abu Bakra:

A man praised another man in front of the Prophet. The Prophet (ﷺ) said thrice, "Wailaka (Woe on you) ! You have cut the neck of your brother!" The Prophet (ﷺ) added, "If it is indispensable for anyone of you to praise a person, then he should say, "I think that such-and-such person (is so-and-so), and Allah is the one who will take his accounts (as he knows his reality) and none can sanctify anybody before Allah (and that only if he knows well about that person.)". Sahih al-Bukhari 6162

It was narrated that Muawiyah said:

"I heard the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) say: 'Beware of praising one another, for it is slaughtering (one another).'" Sunan Ibn Majah 3743

How did the teaching of the deen from women lessen by the passage of time

I السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

To be frank, there are many male figures to take knowledge from whom also mostly quote male knowledge figures from the past.

But from history we k that women would teach men. For example Sayyida Nafisa bint al-Hasan who was the great-granddaughter of Prophet Muhammad. Nafisa was an elite scholar of Hadith and Fiqh in Cairo. Imam ash-Shafi'i regularly attended her circles and consulted her on complex legal problems.

Q is what changes, what matters effected the presence of women LEADING islamic circles?

what do u think of what Shaykh Hasan Ali said

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yJI00JHOHA

assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

i couldnt agree more!!

this is the same issue i face when it come to seeking knowledge, which just infuriates me so much!!

i have been recommended all the channels there are that pl advice to take knowledge from, i dont think i am missing any at thing point, i have accumulated such a huge list.

i checked them all, most did not satisfy me. for most vids as Shaykh Hasan Ali mentions, the way most teacher teaches lack in depth knowledge and understanding in how to communicate with students. in how to teach effectively to reform them. (i have a big rant about this, but not the time to explain it, dont think its worth it eaither, so skip)

i did like some recommendations tho, just some. BUT THOSE R NOT ON THE TOPIC I WANT TO LEARN SOO EAGERLY- THE NAMES OF ALLAH!!!

anyways i found this playlist- https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLI20wAOaUFEQMOLinCNclMF1KQ9v6lHqW

1- what do u think of what the teacher in the vid said?

2- does anyone see any issues in taking from him? i just found this teacher, he seems nice and he is part of the Miftaah institute

What are your experiences with finding khushoo in prayer?

For me, I am not sure...

I think I am doing something wrong essentially

I watched the enjoy ur prayer series by Ali Hammuda, going over it again إن شاء الله and taking notes

I seem to forget the importance of it.. ?

Like my prayers r dry no matter how much I acknowledge that الله سبحانه و تعالى is responding back to me (well.. so far).

I read Thābit Al-Bunāni said:

كَابَدْتُ الصَّلاةَ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً ، وَتَنَعَّمْتُ بِهَا عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً

“I struggled with my night prayer for 20 years, then I enjoyed it for 20 years.” Hilyatul Awliyaa
