Finally switched out

Wasted about a year banking with Current. I work a 1099 job that pays daily- every 3 days, I’ve deposited thousands to the account since opening. Apparently, even though the contractor sends the deposit as ‘x jobs’ as the description for whom is sending the deposit. It doesn’t count those as job history! Phew, after no luck with customer support reaching out, it’s not fair. So happy im done with Current. Good Riddance.

Used this app first time and please please watchout, 🚨 read before using app

Gives the idea that they will provide funds immediately until pay day. However once you download you will realize it only works after a month of studying your account and monitoring your direct deposit from work. So Im an idiot and I still went through with it and one month later I got the advances on my check. That’s not even the worst part. a month later it worked so I got some of my check earlier. Whopty do only a month late…. And now when I try to cash out the amount I have it tells me that I am unable to add a debit card to withdraw the money. After 5 tries using my very official debit card it locked me out for over attempts. They will make it nice for you to get in, but to get any funds or take out the funds is nearly impossibl. they want you to spend the money within thier only app. It will literally get in using very attractive offers, which are not real or free to use. it’s not for immediate use or even not for users. just a developer trying to take advantage of people in need

I wish Current would up their ATM Daily Limit from $500 to at lease $1000

$500 seems a bit low, sometimes I need more cash than just $500.

Other then that Current has been great to me.

New to current, deposit times?

Just changed banks from Chime to Current. I’m used to getting paid Wednesdays around 11-12:30. I know current also offers early pay, what time does your deposit usually hit? I’m worried with the bank holiday my check won’t come by tomorrow (honestly thought it would be today bc banks are closed Friday) and I’ve got bills to pay.

Saying Goodbye To Current

I have used Current for about a year. At first, it was a great experience ,my paychecks consistently arrived two days early and usually hit at the same time each pay period. I also found the pay advance feature helpful in the beginning. But I made the mistake of continuously increasing my advance amount until I reached the max. Over time, this turned into an awful cycle of borrowing and repaying. The advance fees around $40 deducted directly from my paycheck ,became frustrating, especially since the repayment is automatically withdrawn with no option to opt out, unlike some other banks like Chime's MyPay feature.

Recently, I was involved in a car accident and had to miss a week of work. As a result, my paycheck was significantly reduced, and my advance limit was lowered, leaving me with nothing on payday. While I understand that borrowing to the maximum was my own decision and I’ve learned from that experience, I do feel that the system can create a cycle that’s hard to break.

In my opinion, services like this can feel somewhat predatory, particularly for individuals living paycheck to paycheck. There is a real risk of becoming dependent on advances, which ultimately leads to paying more in fees over time.

I have since switched to a traditional bank account where my paycheck is deposited on payday. While I understand the need and purpose of fintech solutions like this, I believe it’s important to approach them with caution. The advance feature can be risky, especially when unexpected situations arise and financial stability is already tight.

Twas the night we hope to get our deposits ON TIME!!!

For two weeks straight we have met on Wednesday to find out when, where and why our deposits have hit our accounts so late. From previous posters last week payroll folks on this thread it was back on time no delays even with a holiday so I am praying for on time direct deposits for all of us tonight! If not we shall meet again with multiple posts regarding delays. Happy Pay Day people!
