Found in 1867 inside a jungle cave, this feral boy named Dina Sanichar, preferred eating raw meat, had trouble standing on two feet, growled like a wolf, and gnawed on bones to sharpen his teeth. He never learned to speak, and became the inspiration for The Jungle Book's character of Mowgli.

I think this may actually be a tintype. I'm not too knowledgeable about these, and I was wondering if anyone could help me estimate a more specific time this might be from based on the clothing?

Half plate daguerreotype, probably our Whipple in my collection.
Seeking Old Photos, etc. Related to Gustave Whitehead
Hello — I’m reaching out to long-time Bridgeport/Fairfield families.
I'm looking for old family photographs, scrapbooks, letters, postcards, newspaper clippings, or family stories that may relate to Gustave Whitehead or early aviation in Bridgeport and Fairfield, from roughly 1890–1915.
Many families don’t realize what they have — workshop photos, backyard scenes, or old aircraft parts sometimes appear in albums without names attached.
If you or your relatives have lived in the area for generations and have old photos you’d be willing to share (I can scan and return originals), I’d love to hear from you.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you!
