DONK is Bey giving us a glass of water during a musical drought - and a sign that it's going to go on for a while longer.

I've already felt that, since Jay-Z started his promo run for the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, Bey was going to be putting her own projects on the back burner in support of him, and I realized that would likely mean no Act III in 2026.

Rumor has it that Jay's festival appearances and promotional appearances aren't just for an anniversary, but for a new album he apparently has for a major comeback. It's been nearly 10 years since he released an album, so it's a big deal for him (and her) that he's finally returning to the scene, and I highly doubt she would want to take away any shine from him. The rumored release is this fall, after his two major concert appearances.

In walks DONK. Bey knows the Hive is hungry and expectant for Act III, but she knows now is also not the time, so she asks herself, "What can I do this year musically that's not a full project but will still feed my fans?" She sees Jay doing his 30th anniversary thing and says, "Well I can do an anniversary, too!" It's low stakes, reintroduces the hits of that album to a new generation, and can throw fans a few scrapped tracks to gag over and have some fun with while they wait for the next act.

As I said, it's Bey signaling that she sees the drought, cares that we receive something, but also that it's not going to be over imminently. For those of us hoping for a spring or summer release, that's not the case, and fall is now booked up by Jay (unless Act III is a collab album 👀)

Let’s talk DC Reunion

It’s no secret that Destiny’s Child reached their peak as a trio; Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle are the lineup most people immediately think of when we say “Destiny’s Child.” But DC3 wouldn’t exist without DC4. LeToya and LaTavia helped build the foundation the group stands on, and their contributions shaped the sound and success that came later.

With all the talk about a possible reunion, I keep wondering whether a full‑group moment featuring past and present members together is even realistic. Could all five women tour? Record something? Or is Destiny’s Child destined to remain a trio in the public imagination?

I usually leave Farrah out of these conversations because her time in the group was so brief. We literally blinked and she was gone, but the bigger question is about the core members. Matthew Knowles still owns the Destiny’s Child name and brand, so any reunion goes through him. Even though LeToya and LaTavia seem to have repaired their relationship with him over the years, would he ever green‑light a DC5 moment? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Personally, I think a DC5 tour would be incredible for nostalgia alone, with DC4 performing the Destiny’s Child and Writings on the Wall classics, and DC3 handling the rest, or all five singing everything together. Beychella proved that anything is possible when the timing is right.

But I’ve had plenty of debates with friends and family who think a DC5 reunion should stay in fantasy land. Their argument is that Matthew would never approve it, and that LeToya and LaTavia might end up pushed into background roles since DC3 evolved into a trio where all three members carry leads. On the other hand, LeToya’s solo career shows she can absolutely hold her own, and nostalgia is a powerful force.

So what does the broader DC universe think? Should we accept that the group’s legacy is DC3? Would a five‑member reunion be meaningful or messy? Are we being realistic, delusional, or just optimistic?

I’m genuinely curious to hear your different perspectives.

Can anyone confirm if Bey actually recorded the outro of Heated in bed?

So, allegedly Beyoncé recorded the last verse of 'Heated'—the part where she says, 'Uncle Johnny made my dress, that cheap spandex, she looks a mess'—while lying in her bed. Is this true? I think it’s so cute when she laughs at the end of her songs. Honestly, it’s cute when any woman does that."
