Nahihilo na ko sa dami ng digital banks

Ive read a lot of threads. Sabi ung isa ay ganto ung isa ay ganyan. Nahihilo na ko 😵‍💫

My priorities are:

  1. High interest rates. Gagamitin ko digital bank for savings (di ko gagalawin ever)
  2. Safe. Di mag cclose ung bank.

My purpose:
To make a new joint account for us (newly weds) for the future since malaki interest sa digibank compared to trad bank

My top 3 digital banks are:

  1. Maribank
    - gusto ko ung 3% cashback for fuel — legit ba to, til when kaya ito (though i use my mastercard for points)
    - and ung daily interest 3.5% (?) ang taas

  2. Go tyme
    - since madaming atm sila for ez liquidation
    - kaso liit interest compared to maribank

  3. Tonik
    - mataas kasi ung 8% TD
    - kaso safe pa ba sya at this time? Legit ba ung profitability? Or mag close na ba ung tonik

I parked my majority of my money at CIMB and MAYA for TD tho — for personal ito. Would like a separate one for my partner and I

Thank uuu

Expired sim card connected to Maya

Anyone here who's experienced being unable to access Maya due to their sim expiring?

Happened to me today. I was able to access it yesterday morning, but when my Smart sim lost signal, I thought I just needed to do BTS. When I moved it to a different phone, Maya then asked me to verify OTP.

Fast forward to the afternoon and I submitted a case. They said 2-9 working days is the response time, but my worry is that they may not respond at all.

Goods ba manghiram kay Billease???

Hello, maganda ba gamitin ang billease at mataas ba yung interest rate nila??? Planning to apply kase sakanila e.

My plan is when my budget is short is dun muna ako kukuha pansamantala, and after that if magkaroon ako ng pera again ibabayad ko siya on the spot agad.

Kaso may nababasa kase ako mataas daw ang interest rate whahahha

Question about Maya Loan (30 characters)

Hi!

Can I use GoTyme to receive payments in USD?

I'm a freelancer po. And usually naman talaga, sa Upwork ang majority ng transactions ko with clients. Sometimes, sa PayPal pero malapit ko na raw ma reach ang limit sa PayPal, so I was thinking of doing it through GoTyme.

Sino ba dito naka experience na gamitin ang GoTyme as mode of payment? Magkano ang fees and ilang hours or days bago mag reflect sa wallet ang money?

What are the pros and cons na rin?

Thanks sa sasagot.

PayPal transfer could not be completed

Hello, I’m new to freelance and recently opened a PayPal account since yan lang mode of payment ng client ko. It’s already past 30 days since I received my payment, past 30 days na when I finished their rigid verification, past 30 days na din when I linked 2 bank accounts. But both of them are receiving the same failed transactions. They are both valid and used regularly so I don’t know what’s the issue. I have tried putting a smaller amount, a higher amount, pero same results.

I checked in with PayPal’s US support, they said the issue was with my bank (they didn’t even let me know that under 21 days hold pa PayPal account ko that time), so I contacted my banks (Metrobank and BDO) and they said, “failed remittance should be coordinated completely with the sender’s bank.” So, pinagpasahan lang nila ako, what now😭

I waited for 2 more weeks after that, and until now, Transfer Failed pa din. Mag-issue na ako ng new invoice to my client, plus a new one who uses PayPal too, so I really need this to work. And more importantly, I need my money😭😭😭

Is there a PayPal PH support that can be more helpful? Or should I use a different bank account? Will there be another issue or waiting game if I registered to a new bank account?

Thank you in advance.

Something strange with CIMB transaction history and transaction details

CIMB Revi Credit special offer

HI, ask ko lang if anyone had an offer like this in CIMB. I am interested to avail the one time payment but it does not give me an option to pay it in full in that amount. It only gives me option to pay it installment with interest. Gusto ko na sana makalaya sakanila kaya I wanna pay in full with waived interest. Thanks.

  1. Foods
  2. - As of now wala pa, but I plan to baon na lang ng lunch dahil whole day kami. Magbaon na lang din ba ako ng for break time? Meals r pricey 🫩 (uni) pero Idk about sa ibang stalls doon since hindi ko pa naman naikot nang buo.

Should I bring 200 a day lang and no extra para hindi magastos? Mabilis kasi ako matukso sa foods 😓

Need help regarding paypal ban

Im a freelance cosplayer who wanted to use Paypal to recieve payments from overseas clients and the day I opened my online Ko-Fi store I had recieved a total of 130 USD from fans. Paypal had flagged this which I had no issue with considering the amount was high for an account that had been inactive for months, so I provided them with the information they requested and rechecked that the whole process for Paypal's AUP. A day after I'd provided all my information I was sent an email saying I'd been banned from using the app with my earning currently stuck in limbo.

I contact their customer support and was told that they would have their back end team look into it, and I also emailed several of their emails including their executive offices and ppelce@paypal.com and earlier today I was sent a reply stating:

"For security reasons, it has been deemed that there is too much risk associated with your account to allow it to be used any further"

"We are parting ways at this point and the decision cannot be overturned"

"We appreciate your interest in PayPal; however, our decision to leave your account in permanent limitation status is final"

...

I'm not sure what to do now regarding this anymore besides taking legal action.

BPI Scammer asked for my CVV as a "batch code"

Want to warn everyone about a scam call I received today. It was convincing enough that I almost fell for it.

How it started:

A woman called me claiming to be from BPI. She asked if I had any issues with my card. She then brought up my rewards points, mentioning I had 4k points. I told her the minimum redemption is 20k so it wasn't enough. She then transferred me to another "agent."

The second agent was smoother:

She spoke to me in a very patronizing tone, like she was explaining things to a child. She asked if the first agent had explained the rewards clearly, then mentioned I could get a card replacement and freebies like a BPI umbrella and tumbler.

She asked me to confirm my card number. I told her my wallet was upstairs and I wasn't sure. She basically nudged me into confirming it anyway.

Here's where I should have stopped:

I actually asked her directly: "How will I know this isn't a scam call?" She responded by confirming my birthday, which was correct. That made me feel she was legit.

She then asked for my expiry date, using a term I didn't recognize at the time. Because she'd already confirmed my birthday, I trusted her and gave it. That was my mistake.

The red flag that ended the call:

She asked for a "batch code." I had no idea what that was. She told me to look next to my signature on the card. I said, "Isn't that the CVV?" She said, "It's CVV on your end, but we call it 'batch code' on our side."

She also used a fill-in-the-blank tactic to make it sound official, something like "Sa 199 na nakakuha ng card, pang-ilan po kayo?" as if she was recording my "batch code" as part of a numbered list of cardholders. It was designed to make you feel like giving the number was a normal, procedural thing.

What's even scarier is that they also knew my address, including my postal code and city. This means they had a complete profile on me — name, birthday, address, card number, and expiry date. The only thing missing was my CVV, which was the whole point of the call.

I hung up immediately and blocked the number.

What I did after:

  • Locked my card through the BPI app right away
  • Heading to the branch today to have the card replaced

Lessons learned:

  • Scammers now call in teams. The first call softens you up, the second closes in
  • Confirming your birthday does NOT mean they're from your bank. That info is available from data breaches.
  • "Batch code" is not a real term. No legitimate bank agent will ever ask for your CVV under any name.
  • The patronizing, overly reassuring tone is a manipulation tactic to keep you from thinking critically.
  • The "pang-ilan ka sa lista" tactic is meant to normalize handing over sensitive info as if it's routine.
  • Asking "is this a scam?" won't stop a scammer. They're prepared for that question.
  • Your data is likely already out there from breaches on e-commerce or delivery apps. Be extra vigilant.

Edit: I called the bank and they're replacing my card and waiving the fee!

Please share this. These people are organized and rehearsed. Stay safe.

Wise (usd) transfer to Gotyme Bank

Hello! I am new to a remote job and I'll be receiving my salary via Wise transfer, according to the HR. I have sent my GoTyme acc details to receive my salary.

Is Gotyme a good choice? Do you guys know how much is the approximate amount or like percentage that will be subtracted from my gross pay? Or do you guys have a better alternative?
