Hi! I’m working on the Dino Crisis Modern Camera Mod

Dino Crisis Modern Camera MOD - it’s practically playable! But there are critical bugs that still don’t allow me to play through the game properly, all the way to the end. Finally, the new camera has no freezes at all and moves smoothly. Same with the character and the new controls.

TIL There were Malay translations of games back then

Not sure whether it's actually genuine though? Since it's only RM19.99.

Decompiled/recompiled Dino Crisis with updated 3D models - a way towards a fan remaster?

Decompilations—> Recompiled PC ports of N64 games are up and running for so many projects right now. AI, hate it or love it, does speed up this process with the overlook of human modders that read through and correct code.
N64 and PS1 have somewhat of a resurgence nowadays.
I recently played through the PC port of Ocarina of Time, Ship of Harkanian, with updated high res 3D models and it dawned on me.

We already have HD texture packs that drastically improve the static backgrounds of Dino Crisis.
The only thing holding back the original games Dino Crisis 1 & 2 are the 3D models and especially of the character models and enemies.

If the PC ports of Dino Crisis 1&2 were properly decompiled, or the PS1 originals, that could potentially pave way for importing high res models of player, NPCs and enemies. Ofcourse they would need to be rigged with bones similar to the PS1 originals to animate properly. But the thought is awesome. The dinosaurs would feel even more alive while retaining the same excellent animations that they had from the original.
Sure, seeing high res models of Regina, Gail and Rick speaking with non moving lips with high res models would be strange, but modding in lip sync would be very hard.

Saying all of this, getting a model import similar to say Ocarina of Time / Ship of Harkanian would pretty much revolutionize the game. It would not devalue the original experience, but it would definitely provide a fresh graphical take and a very nice way of replaying the original games as a HD model+texture remaster long before Capcom decides to sometime/eventually/maybe remake Dino Crisis.

No decompilation/recompilation or 3D model importer currently exists. But if such development were to happen, I would think the modding scene would be explode.

A fan can dream, but it does not seem out of the impossible. The enemy variation is low. So the amount of player and enemy models needed is not super high.

Please do not shoot me down or down vote. I just please ask you to envision what could happen if DC 1&2 became decompiled/open source code. 🙏🏻

The End of Oak Street

Anyone else think EoOS could have started life as a movie set in the Dino Crisis universe? The story at a base level is pretty much DC and even the visual effects of the time bubbles look like the 3rd Energy. Make the dad a laid off scientist who knows about the research and boom you have a DC movie.

As a Capcom Creator..

I was asked to make a video about how excited I was for Onimusha Way of the Sword, to be shown at their next meeting. I knew my assignment, but had an ulterior motive. I hope they get the message.🤣🫡

Hello there fine folk of r/DinoCrisis. I haven't played either Dino Crisis game before, but have become curious and was considering giving them a go. But when I went to their respective Steam pages to have a look, I got this warning for both of them. It strikes me as odd, as it seems mismatched with the description underneath and the general impression I got of the game when I first heard of it.

Is there anything explicit or NSFW in these games?

Dino crisis Remake thought

I keep thinking about how they could remake Dino Crisis without the dinosaurs feeling cheap or making the game feel like some random dinosaur survival game on Steam.

I know it's Capcom, and I have a lot of faith in what they've done with Resident Evil, but honestly, as much as I adored Dino Crisis as a kid—and still do as an adult—I have a hard time picturing how they pull this one off.

Part of what made the original so good was its atmosphere. Maybe it was just the limitations and graphics of the time, but there was something about those dark, pre-rendered-looking environments, the lighting, the music, and never really knowing what was around the corner. The dinosaurs actually felt threatening and unsettling instead of just being monsters to shoot. And thats my last point....its dinosaurs as enemies not zombies not mutants.
